After adopting a dog from a shelter my dog was diagnosed with kennel cough. Many people tell me their dogs never vomited when they had this .My dog finally started eating but when she drinks water the dry cough starts and she vomits the water everytime. This has been one week now.How long will this last ?? My vet put her on antibiotics and he is away for a few days.

We keep going to the vet trying tests after tests and prescribed medication and they cant find anything nor does anything help. Its not kennel cough cause she took pills for that. Actually we are currently out of town however I did contact our Vet and she also said it could be kennel cough, which is odd since our dog is an indoor dog and is never around other dogs. She also said it could be a nasty cold... since we cannot make it in right now she recommended I get some Benadryl and give her 1/2 teaspoon 3 times a day.
