Vomiting dog cancer

Common Questions and Answers about Vomiting dog cancer

vomiting

Avatar f tn my dog would probably have to have an ultrasound to check for ulcers or cancer. To make a long story short, my dog resumed vomiting 4 days after he took the last Cerenia. He still is taking the paste & the Pepcid AC. I am waiting for the vet to return my most recent call. Has anyone ever had this happen to their dog & found out that it was some chronic disease that can be treated with daily medication? I am heartsick that something life-threatening could be wrong with my dog.
Avatar m tn I am sorry about your dog. Vomiting can be caused by a great number or problems including: parasites, gastritis, toxins, infectious agents, foreign body ingestion, kidney or liver disease, cancers and more. Not eating for two weeks is very serious. It would be great if your vet's were able to perform blood tests and X-Rays because once there is a diagnosis proper treatment can be instituted. If diagnostics cannot be performed than symptomatic treatment is the next best option.
Avatar n tn So many dogs dying suddenly, often young and healthy. Weird symptoms, often no warning. This is not natural or a coincidence. What dog foods are you feeding them or preventative medications are you giving them? This stuff has very lax safety standards, not like human food and products. They can put pretty much anything they want in your pet's food. We need to all get to the bottom of this. I watched a documentary that was very eye opening.
Avatar m tn My dog ate a 20mg tablet of accutane that my daughter dropped on the floor. She is a 55 lb female chocolate lab. Should I be concerned?
Avatar f tn YES she could be dehydrated or have lung cancer thats what happen to my dog and when we found out he had lung cancer we had to have him put to get her in ASAP
Avatar m tn This could be something more serious, of course. Any chance your dog may have ingested something in the house or outside? Is the dog eating, drinking, any vomiting or diarrhea, eating and drinking? If this continues and especially if the dog shows any other signs, a trip to your Vet is warranted.
Avatar f tn Missy dog vomits when she eats or drinks. She can only keep down white rice and small amounts of water at a time. Her stool is normal and stomach isn't hard. I am concerned at she can't continue to just eat rice. I tried boiling hamburer and putting a little in the rice but she vomited that too.
Avatar m tn 5 yr old dog? Can you tell me how prevalent cancer of the spleen is? Really my questions is, of all the things it could be, how likley is it to be cancer. If 10 conditions can cause bleeding, one being cancer, I feel more reassured going into surgery vs 2 things that can bleeding and 1 being cancer. Finally do you think the high RBC and HCT is linked to a unhealthy spleen?
Avatar m tn My dog has been vomiting yellow bile and sometimes with food.. he has very little appetite. Vet visit last wed showed nothing unusual on blood work and exam. said to treat as acid reflux. Meds haven't stopped it and appetite is actually worse.. he is 10+ husky/shep mix.
Avatar n tn my dog recently suffered from a bout of pancreatits and was hospitalized for 3 days, she has been home now for 5 days but is still sluggish, has very little apetite, and still has vomited 3 times since she has been home, she is drinking regularly and urinating normally but her stool is runny and yellowish.
Avatar n tn They said that there was no infection or inflamation, and if it were cancer that he should have been vomiting. But of course, when there is no answer, it all points to cancer. Still no fever and blood work o.k. but he did have blood show up in his stool. Since he would not eat we were giving him injectables at home. Pepcid, prilosec, cernia and other anti nausea meds, plus a slurry of some kind to coat his stomach. At night he started to moan and cry and could not get comfortable.
Avatar n tn The most important aspect of any anti-cancer treatment is to keep the patient eating. However, your dog is exhibiting a lot of bizarre behaviors which I can only explain by too high a dose of Tramadol, or the cancer spreading to the brain. But, the only definitive way to diagnose brain cancer is with an MRI. I am sorry to say that he does not sound as if he has a consistantly good quality of life at this point.
Avatar f tn I have a female dog named Cocoa. A week ago she started vomiting 2 to 4 times a day. We took her to the vet. She had blood work, urinalysis, exrays, barium exrays. They found nothing. The last 4 days her appetite has gone down to nothing. She weighed 10.4 lbs a week and a half ago, now 8 pounds. She stopped vomitting yesterday. That was a breakthrough. How do we get her to eat? The next step is an endoscopy. We are very worried. Any thoughts on what might be causing this?
Avatar n tn I dose with less than that--I use only 1 tablet (25mg) at night with our dog. He takes it at night, and no vomiting at night any more. I can usually catch him before he pukes in the daytime, so I don't give it in the daytime. Hopefully, someone else can give you (and me) more ideas. But wanted you to know about the Benadryl, particularly. You can buy that over the counter. We also tried Pepcid and Reglan, without any luck.
Avatar n tn My dog was lethargic yesterday. Didn't want her usual biscuit, or to go outside. She laid around, but didn't whine or anything. We thought she wasn't feeling well, but nothing serious. This morning when we woke up her eyes were open, her tongue was hanging out and she was dead. She began losing fluids from her body shortly after. No vomiting or blood. She had just received a clean bill of health from the vet 10 days ago.
Avatar m tn Hi Anonymous87542, Almost had the same thing, the only difference is we're able to have our dog checked and got diagnosed with cancer and after a week she died, he's so healthy and doesn't make sense he had cancer, we gave him vitamins and healthy foods but still, so we make sure that her puppy won't experience the same thing so we changed the food and vitamins consistent monthly check-ups but same as her mother he also had cancer and died, that was 3 years ago, we decided to ad
1198742 tn?1293503376 I am not sure what you said about liver cancer. If he had developed liver cancer at any point he should have gotten cancer MELD exception points and already gotten a liver transplant from accumulated MELD points. Hopefully his liver disease and symptoms will improve over time now that he has been cured of his hep C. Good luck to you both.
Avatar f tn Large lymph nodes big enough for pet owners to feel may be due to cancer called lymphosarcoma also. I'd make sure to bring your dog in for a veterinary exam!
Avatar n tn Cancer cells alter your pets body’s ability to metabolize dietary nutrients, including carbohydrates, fats and proteins. The effect of cancer on dog and cat glucose or "blood" sugar metabolism is most dramatic in pets. Cancer or tumor cells preferentially use anaerobic glycolysis to metabolize glucose for energy, forming lactate as the end product. Lactate is then converted back to glucose at the expense of your pet.
Avatar n tn (..... I love my dog, but he is terrified at any vet office, and at his age i really cant justify putting him thru a bunch of tests. Any ideas for comfort? Or any other possibilities. He had so many odd symptoms in the months leading up to this.....
Avatar n tn The next sign I noticed was about six months ago she began splitting nails - about 1 every other month. The next sign was she starting losing weight and became less interested in eating, vomiting every third to fourth day and really likes to eat grass - which promotes vomiting too. All of her blood tests are normal - except slightly dehydrated. Exray showed nothing except a slight mass near entrance to stomach. Fecal sample - negative. She now is becoming very lethargic.
