my doctor said i shouldn't have the treatment because of my blood count...10 hemog. 33 hemat. and also i have thallasemia. anyone with the same or some insight with my course..

To new vet after dark brown bloody urination. Very low Hemat. No infection Temp was 101. Dexameth IV and Pred 50 mg daily starts tomorrow. Adv no Aspirin and Trans likely no help now. Any ideas? Dx IMH Anemia. Taking water and small feedings now. Moderately active.

So I'll be 38 wks tomorrow. I luckily somehow made it up to this point in my pregnancy without morning sickness or anything. Today I woke up with a terrible stomach ache. My pcp is sending me to hematologist for any possible blood disorder as I have elevated kappa light chain and high Igm. I hope Hemat. doc rules out any blood disorder as most of them are life threatening. Unfortunately my persistent symtoms (rib pain and headache) are matching w/ disease like myloma, Waldenstrom. I wonder if there is anything else (preferable benign) that missed out and can cause high Igm and kappa light chain?

I just wanted to have an expert advice that one time blood while vomiting is a symptom of Cirhosis or any other severe disease. You need to get that checked out...not a good sign to be vomiting blood...alcoholics are prone to intestinal bleeds...go have it checked out....and I guess you already know drinking aggravates this condition..

How much blood? If you are vomiting red blood you could have a bleeding ulcer and that is an emergency. I have had a tiny amount before and it was due to irritation in my throat. You should at least make an appointment with your physician. If you vomit red blood, become dizzy or faint or have black sticky stools you should go to the emergency room.

Did you heave a lot before vomiting? It could have been a little blood mixed in or even something you ate. If it burned coming up could have been stomach acid. Sometimes if blood and acid mix it can turn black. I would maybe bring it up to your doc at your next appointment. It could also just be one of those one time things that have no explanation. I wouldn't worry to much.

I've posted about it before and I know why I'm throwing up blood, it's my stomach tearing from throwing up too much. I just don't know what to do about it. Is there a medicine other than zofran they'll give me? I don't need anti nausea, it doesn't work. When I throw up it's right away I don't have time to feel nauseous and take the zofran and if I do get to to take it I just throw it up anyways lol.
