vomiting blood

So I'll be 38 wks tomorrow. I luckily somehow made it up to this point in my pregnancy without morning sickness or anything. Today I woke up with a terrible stomach ache. I started to vomit around 3 pm and it was full of blood. I can taste blood in my mouth. The stomach ache hasn't subsided but hasn't gotten worse either. Is this ob related or more medical? Should I go to the hospital? Has anyone else experienced this?

I would stop shoving your fingers down your throat. Hopefully the blood is just from that or as you said a popped blood vessel.

I just wanted to have an expert advice that one time blood while vomiting is a symptom of Cirhosis or any other severe disease. Or i am going through any serious illness or something else is happened to me. In morning as well as in evening a pale yellow stool with some redishness is been passed in liquid state. You need to get that checked out...not a good sign to be vomiting blood...alcoholics are prone to intestinal bleeds...go have it checked out....and I guess you already know drinking aggravates this condition..

How much blood? If you are vomiting red blood you could have a bleeding ulcer and that is an emergency. I have had a tiny amount before and it was due to irritation in my throat. You should at least make an appointment with your physician. If you vomit red blood, become dizzy or faint or have black sticky stools you should go to the emergency room.

Did you heave a lot before vomiting? It could have been a little blood mixed in or even something you ate. If it burned coming up could have been stomach acid. Sometimes if blood and acid mix it can turn black. I would maybe bring it up to your doc at your next appointment. It could also just be one of those one time things that have no explanation. I wouldn't worry to much.

I've posted about it before and I know why I'm throwing up blood, it's my stomach tearing from throwing up too much. I just don't know what to do about it. Is there a medicine other than zofran they'll give me? I don't need anti nausea, it doesn't work. Could be something fairly simple like erosion in the upper digestive tract, like a bleeding ulcer, or something disastrous like liver failure, and your doc would not necessarily know how to treat the more complex reasons for vomiting blood.

Her blood work, off the charts in some areas, has normalised but her urine showed high protein and she has high blood pressure; she is taking enalapril for both of these. If you have been vomiting due to morning sickness you might have ruptured a vessel or started to develop a ulcer due to stress. But if it persists and geta worse through out the night OR you develop abdominal pain and you don't feel comfortable then go to the ER.
