Avatar n tn Hi, welcome to the forum, yes, kidney infection can be related to the pyelonephritis. Urinary tract infection can be due to infection involving any part from kidney to urethra. Infection may be pyelonephritis (involving upper urinary tract), urethritis, uretitis, cystitis (lower urinary tract) etc. Presence of Anatomic abnormalities resulting in obstruction, stasis, or reflux of urinary flow all predisposes towards recurrent urinary infections.
Avatar n tn The presence of urinary symptoms may require further evaluation of the urinary tract. Urgency and decrease urine flow may suggest an infection or an obstruction. A urinalysis, urine culture, kidney, ureter and bladder scans may help rule out an infection or urinary tract stones. Kidney stones leading to kidney infections may lead to fever, nausea and vomiting. I suggest you seek immediate consult since you may need oral medications. Do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn Ive had a urinary tract infection for going on 6 weeks now. Ive been treated over and over and nothing seems to be getting rid of it. I dont have a regular dr so I am relying on trips to the er to help me. I am now so sick with the infection that I am throwing up and am in so much pain. I have a very serious history of kidney stones as well which doesnt help much either. I just had my last stone removed about 3 weeks ago.
Avatar f tn Hi, You can get chills and fever with UTIs, but you need to be very careful until this infection has cleared up. Some virulent strains or stronger infection have the potential to ascend up the urinary tract and infect the kidneys or break into the bloodstream. As long as you take your antibiotics on time and a urinalysis at the end of the course rules out the presence of bacteria, there is no cause for worry. Meanwhile continue the other measures advised above to avoid recurrence.

Ive never heard of it being contagious, and dont think that it is, but ask your doctor. and ive also never had a cream to use, so im not sure what thats for.

Avatar n tn You may not even have to bring your dog in for an exam if the urine is positive for a simple urinary tract infection (an infection without crystals). The vet can simply give appropriate antibiotics. If your dog has crystals in his urine, the crystals would need to be identified and treatment instituted. Crystals can be dangerous in male dogs because if they become large enough they can become lodged in the urethra and cause blockage (even in dogs, though more common in male cats).

Missed periods, nausea vomiting, breast tenderness, whiite vaginal discharge are few of the early symptoms and signs of pregnancy. Moreover if you are on any birth control method then the chances of pregnancy are very less.Paiin in the abdomen can be due to several causes like gastritis, reflux and if it is in the lower abdomen then possibly urinary tract infection.
