Avatar f tn My girlfriend has been feeling very nauseous for the last week (ie hiccups and dry heaving) and is attributing it to stress. She has also been sleeping excessively for the last few days. I found her in bed unresponsive to touch or sound earlier today. I tried rolling her over and she had bile running down her face. Her eyes were rolled back in her head and she wouldn't wake up. After getting her upright, she was limp and not breathing so I gave her CPR till she threw up more bile.

Avatar f tn Stress and anxiety certainly can cause GI symptoms such as nausea, diarrhea, and even vomiting. You say this has been going on for 5 years, can you elaborate a bit as to what is exactly happening? How often you're vomiting? When it happens? Have you seen your doc to rule out a medical cause? Have you ever sought professional help for your anxiety?

Avatar n tn Hi, I'm eighteen years old and just finished my first semester of college. I worked a lot this summer in a very high-stress environment, and my school is also very demanding. I've been in almost perfect health until last summer when I fainted after slamming my finger in a cash register, and vomiting the next day (it had been about eight years since I last got sick). Since then I've had several cases of nausea, especially after I moved to my new school, which is in a place approx.

Avatar n tn Hello, Normal MRI and ophthalmic examination and having vomitings and headache are giving rise to the possibility of migraine headache. Stress is one of the most important factors for the precipitation of migraine headaches. Migraine attacks commonly activate the sympathetic nervous system in the body. The increased sympathetic nervous activity in turn causes headaches, diarrhea, sensitivity to light and sound sensitivity as well as blurred vision.

Avatar n tn Yesterday, after the diarrhea subsided for about a day, I began vomiting once every hour or so, and the diarrhea has resumed. Cultures were ran for the stool and they came back negative. At first, the vomiting had food in it, but after the first, all subsequent releases were a dark green liquid. All vomit produced since the first yields several ounces of this liquid (bile perhaps). What should I do?
Avatar n tn My son is 12 and has frequent vomiting episodes ever since he was very little. I would say he vomits approx twice a week, almost always in the morning, sometimes in his sleep because he will wake up in the night from vomiting, then wake me up. My doctor has always said he was fine that it is normal. It seems to slow down for a bit then come back every couple months. I'm not sure really, I just know it is often.

Avatar f tn t) and I found something called Cylic Vomiting Syndrome( that can be caused by stress and excitment) and another thing called Gastroparisis/slow stomach emptying. Both seem to have the same symptoms sorta. So, my question is, is this due to stress(like sensory processing issues) or is it an actual digestive disorder that I should get check out for? These episodes come and go. so I am not sure what to do. I am afraid the doctor would tell me that it's nothing.
Avatar f tn It seems that the 1st thing people think because of her age is that she may be making herself do this and I don't take offense because this is such a difficult age anyways. I am with her as often as I can be when she vomits, normally giving her a wet rag or water. More often than not the liquids come up 1st and then the food is a solid mess so if she continues to sip on water while vomiting it makes it easier to come up.

Avatar m tn When the issue is related to food, a biopsy is usually the best approach. Pregnancy and newborns bring insecurities and stress to our cats. You need to introduce him to the baby slowly, step by step. First, allowing him to sniff the baby's blankie or a toy helps introduce him to the new smell. Then, letting the cat sniff the baby and the cradle will allow him to get used to the presence of the baby. If you didn't do this, then it is obvious your cat is stressed out.
657416 tn?1224695925 The nausea may be caused by a large number of things, especially when nausea combined with frequent vomiting. Some that come to mind are gastritis, gastroparesis, and dyspepsia, but there I name but a very, very few. I would bet at there being some kind of stomach lining inflammation (gastritis), which may be caused by things like H. Pylori or by delayed gastric emptying (whether it be due to gastroparesis or dyspepsia.
Avatar n tn The primary cause of keytones in the blood system is a high blood sugar. Stress and sickness simply make it so that keytones can develop at blood sugars that are normally not good but easily dealt with. For example, when my blood sugar goes as high as 200 I will be able to tell that it is high and needs to be dealt with, but keytones will not develop until my blood sugar is as high as 250 or greater.
