Common Questions and Answers about Vomiting and ear infections

vomiting

Avatar n tn Lung infections like pneumonia and bronchitis can irritate the diaphragm and cause vomiting. Pancreatitis is another entity diagnosed by blood tests and ultrasound. Renal stones can cause vomiting and pain. The stones may be too small to be picked up by an ultrasound. Inflammatory bowel diseases can also be the culprits. Discuss these options with your doctor when you happen to meet him. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
5362981 tn?1366909987 Also, repeated throat infections can affect the Eustachian tubes, which connect the middle ears to the throat and can cause ear infections. So, take precautions and treat the throat infections at the earliest. For now, continue with the medications and as the infection resolves, his appetite should improve. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
1936550 tn?1348360208 I finally went to a nurse practcioner who said he needed his tonsils out(they were huge) and adenoids out and he put him on a prescription nose spray and he explained that it brought down the swelling in his nasal passages and helped things to drain. I don't know but it worked! We were able to keep him well for 3 months until he could get his adenoids and tonsils removed.
1241045 tn?1268250883 My dog is a boxer and she constantly has ear infections. She shakes her head all the time. Short of cleaning her ears three times a day, what can I do about it? Can you put tubes in dogs ears like children? She also gets yeast in between her toes and is always licking them. And the smell is aweful! I was told it could be allergies, but the test for dogs is expensive. We have tried changing her diet and she still gets ear infections.
713383 tn?1232483914 It seems that no matter what I do, I cannot clear up his ear infections. I have tried antibiotics, ear drops, everything and they keep coming back. His ears smell terrible, which leads me to believe he is getting chronic yeast infections in his ears. What causes this and is there some alternative, perhaps herbal supplement I can give him since traditional medicine seems to be failing? This has been going on for years now and they just keep coming back.
Avatar f tn t look like little bugs. They actually look like a ton of brown/black ear wax. Go to 1800 pet meds and look under ear medications. Look for tresaderm. This will treat the mites. If it does have a foul smell to it, there is medication available on that site as well. However, you can treat it yourself with peroxide and alchohal. (if you have the stomach for it, that is). In the morning, poor peroxide into the ear. Hold the ear shut so it bubbles up inside.
Avatar n tn The list ER i went to the doctor told me I had a lot of wax in my ears I went home and used a ear wax removal kit but no wax was out and still the same problem! What sholud I do. Also for the past 3 months I have been getting a rash around my neck. Do you know wht this might be?
Avatar f tn In a country like India, often treatment is started if malaria is suspected. UTI is another common cause. Pneumonia and ear infections are probably ruled out as you have no related symptoms that you report. If nothing is caught, then it could be viral or even typhoid. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind. Talk to your treating doctor. Take care!
Avatar f tn Best thing is to find a really good Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist (ENT). Sinus infections and inner ear infections cause your symptoms. Relatively easy fix but only if you get good medical attention.
Avatar n tn Eustachian tube dysfunction is something I have and have suffered this. An Ear Nose and Throat doctor helped me. My husband after a cold had an ear infection which caused this. It's cold and flu season. Not sure about the palpitations part as that is not related to ear issues that are our center for balance (and why we get dizzy often -- and extreme vertigo will make us nauseated and vomit). Does he have anxiety when he feels the fullness in his ear or the dizziness start?

Avatar f tn I have a nineteen month old that has been suffering from chronic ear infections, petechia, bruising, and fevers (assumed to be related to the ear infections). My son touched my tattoo when it became infected and being a baby, put his finger immediately in his mouth.
Avatar f tn The next day, I felt I had pain in my ear, similar to an ear infection. I went to the doctor and she told my ear was fine and that I should just take Claritin D. So, I have been taking Claritin D but ever since then, my ear hasn't been 100% normal. Every now and then, I'd say about once a day or so, I get a feeling that my ear is clogged. It feels like something is stuck in it. I can still hear out of it perfectly but it still feels like something is stuck in there.
Avatar f tn Besides loud noises, other causes include severe head trauma, sinus and respiratory infections, ear infections, wax build-up, high blood cholesterol, food allergies, certain types of tumors and a long list of other conditions.
Avatar f tn Oh man. No. Just be careful and don't swap spit or get too close. I had strep throat twice and an ear infection while pregnant with my daughter. I'm a strep magnet. If it's tonsilitis that he has just keep a good space and lysol when he leaves.
Avatar f tn The doctors say that my ear infections are just bad luck and not due to what I had stuck in my ear even though prior to that I never had an ear infection. Could I have some underlying infection that hasn't fully cleared? Seeing as they've been giving me the same ear drops for almost 2 years?
Avatar f tn I have 4 childeren and I can only hear from on ear and everything is magnified...... When is this stuff going to be gone from my ear and will I have to do this treatment again? I pray to hear from you soon.. This discussion is related to Fungal Infection & Pain.

Avatar m tn And she sent me home I felt ok but not great and then in middle of night. My ear pain got worse and ringing in ear and some fullness. So I went to see about getting some pain meds. In a tray that I keep my meds in. I came across some ear drop that were not all used from other ear infection I had about six months earlier. I put the drops in and now I feel way worse. My ears feel more clogged and pain is not as bad . But I feel light headed . The ear drops have a steroid in it .
Avatar n tn I suggest getting a second person to help you. One to hold him and comfort him, and one to get in that ear and clean it! I would probably start with a warm wet towel (dont use paper towels, they are scratchy) Get out as MUCH as you can with the towel. After everything is done, get out you pets favorite treat. I usually don't suggest bacon as a treat unless you REALLY need your dog to forget about what you just did. Bacon is a GREAT treat for this type is situation.
Avatar f tn It went away for a short period along with the ear infections and other infections however now kits back and worse then before. Sometime my stomach and surrounding area is sore to the touch and my voice has been gone for over two weeks now not to mention the pain. Please help. Ive had several labs, catscan, stool testing all which came back normal a few times. Did I mention I hate needles!!!
Avatar n tn Amoxicillin is used for bacterial infections, such as some respiratory infections, infections of the urine, ear infections, and dental abscesses. It works by killing the bacteria causing the infection. You may also be prescribed it to prevent an infection from occurring if you are at particular risk of getting an infection. Amoxicillin is sometimes used to get rid of Helicobacter Pylori. This is the bacterium that can cause stomach ulcers.
Avatar f tn With tubes in your ears, its really important that you keep your ears dry and not allow water into them. Are you using ear plugs when bathing? Water entering the middle ear through the tubes can cause infections. Does your physician know that you are continuing to have ear infections with the tubes in place?
1346101 tn?1288051949 I have both gastroparesis and small bowel dysmotility. They both cause nausea and vomiting. So sorry you're going through this. I ended up with the enterra therapy (stomach pacemaker) cuz my gastroparesis was so bad. Hope you start feeling better.
