Avatar f tn I do two things to help me not be hungry while dieting, first i snack on a 180 calorie pack of sunflower seeds, it takes me my whole work day to finish and keeps my mouth busy so im not snacking on high calorie stuff. ..plus they come in many flavors do its not boring. Secondly i do the volumetrics diet. Its based on the normal weight loss principles of low calorie, low fat but teaches you to choose items that will fill you up faster (ie-grapes instead of raisins).
1102792 tn?1285925260 I used the Volumetrics program, which you can do on your own by using the book, The Volumetrics Eating Plan. I had to greatly reduce the amount of processed food that I was eating. I started buying more raw groceries and cooking most of my food. Now, I am very happy with the way I eat, because I feel so much better. My sense of taste has changed. Now I can appreciate natural food, without the added salt, suger, and fat that is found in the processed foods that I used to eat.
Avatar n tn s some evidence to suggest that you might even more mileage out of your fruits and veggies if you eat them whole. One of the tricks of weight loss is the concept of volumetrics. Eating higher "volume" foods tends to lower the total number of calories per gram (similar concept to energy density), and therefore you are more full with fewer calories.
Avatar f tn I did my birth plan online. I don't know if I love it yet. So what I'm asking is are there any others who did theirs online and what sights did you prefer? I did mine on earthmommaanglebaby.
Avatar f tn You have several choices of diet that are about equally effective - a very low carbohydrate diet (Atkins), a very low fat diet (Pritikin), a portion control diet (Weight Watchers), and a diet focused on eating bulky foods (Volumetrics). The very low carbohydrate diet works somewhat faster, but you are more likely to regain weight with that approach... so if you do that pay particular attention to planning the transition from diet to "maintenance"...
Avatar f tn You have to do things slowly, you have to make a plan. The plan should be not of what you want to do, but who and how do you want to be. Once you figure that out make a schedule that you can keep. Nothing harsh or extreme that will make you exhausted just by thinking. Maybe cut white sugars first week and exercise 15 minutes. Than cut white flour next week and add 5 minutes to your exercising. If you are searching for help you already started the process.
Avatar n tn Hi This is a little strange and perhaps nobody can answer my questions, but here it goes. I am three weeks pregnant from day of conception, I do not want to carry this baby, I want to have an abortion. Problem is I live in a very remote area of the world with no access to either the abortion pill or D&C. What I did have access to is Plan B, the morning after pill, hoping that it would start me bleeding and then the doctor here on this deserted island would have no choice but to help me.
Avatar n tn We will be eating all meals out. Any recommendations on restaurants or sources to find nutritional info on restaurants in the Chicago area, especially downtown? Any help appreciated.
Avatar f tn Cheat days give you a break from a strict diet, but it can help you evaluate your relationship to food and eating. Cheat days can help you learn portion sizes and healthy eating habits as you learn to treat some foods as healthier than others. These days can also prevent your from overeating and give you the incentive and self-control to stay on track. Now, When to Cheat! The type of cheat day you have can affect the success rate of your diet. You still must stick with certain cal.
Avatar f tn The thing is, my highest peak of ovulation was the 12th so I believe I was the most fertile yesterday. I read online that Plan B is not as effective when you are ovulating and that once the egg attaches it cant be prevented. An egg doesnt get fertilized until 4 -12 hours. I took the pill right in the middle of that time frame. I Have not had any symptoms from the pill and my period isnt due until the 27th. Am I at risk for pregnancy?
Avatar f tn Look online or in the package for an 800 number and call and ask about this. Or they might have an FAQ section on their website that addresses it.
Avatar f tn No, stick to your plan! You can always decrease later but most online plans are unrealistic @ the beginning. Excercise is the factor but need enough calories to fuel the body.
Avatar f tn She seems to be eating this for now. She is extremely finicky so I am open to any other meal suggestions. Callie is also on EPAKITN a phosphate binder. She acts fine but I wasn't sure in everyone else's experience how long it may be before this will progress. I am just so heartbroken I can't imagine my life without her. Also what vitamins does anyone suggest. I do think she needs some since she is not touching much of the KD.
1802952 tn?1315981161 I'm trying to find a good diet for me. The thing is I had my gallbladder taking out and I can't eat a lot of foods like I could before. Is there a good diet plan for someone who had their gallbladder taking out? Also, I'm a picky eater..LOL! I think that's why I do so bad on diets.
Avatar f tn I have 9 weeks left. For the last 3-4 weeks my appetite seems to be out of control. I kept it controlled until now. I crave all kinds of junk ( I normally eat very healthy). I try to stick to the healthy stuff but my body and my baby says otherwise. I'm so concerned about the weight gain ( I lost over 100 pounds before getting pregnant. It took 2.5 years of changing my lifestyle and habits to get there). I don't want gain too much weight in this last leg of pregnancy.
Avatar f tn t think that was implantation bleeding and neither there are chances of your being pregnant coz u took plan b within time.. the problem is that plan b chances your cycle drastically even causing your periods to arrive 7 days early from the expected date and even have a lighter period than normal.. the hour difference won't be a problem.. so u need not worry as there are completely no chances.. good luck..
Avatar f tn It helps with vitamin b6 which prevents and helps with postpartum depression. Also increases milk supply for breast feeding moms. Contains a ton of vitamins and iron you will lose in giving birth. Humans are actually the only mammal that choose to not eat it lol all other mammals eat it as instinct.

It takes the guess work out of figuring out a healthy lifestyle and has many helpful resources and tools to help guide you. I've lost over 90 lbs since I joined a year ago!
Avatar f tn This implies that you will feel full more aside from the way that protein makes you feel full quicker. Make sure, high protein eating plan just conveys extensive weight reduction results when the consumption of carbs is limited. Begin slowly by expending less sugary nourishment and refreshments like doughnuts, chips, baked goods, pop and sweetened apples and oranges juice.
Avatar f tn It's offensive that I find a birthing plan template ridiculous?!?! It's offensive that I think that an 11 page birthing plan with requests on it such as DIMMING THE LIGHTS and A ROOM WITH A VIEW is ridiculous. PLEASE! get over yourself. I could care less the research you have done. I have don't just as much. I posted on here how ridiculous I found the birthing plan template online.

Avatar m tn Been a long time reader but now a first time poster. Long story short...I'm a mid 40's guy with 2 small children and great wife. I had many surgeries mostly back & knees over the last 25 years mostly due to being a collegiate & semi-pro athlete. Over the last 4 yrs I have been taking hydrocodone 10/325 (4-6 a day) & I'm done being a slave to these things. It has slowly degraded my life over them 4 yrs making me less the dad than I should be.
