Avatar f tn Lately I have been putting Voltaren gel on my forehead. I'm doing this to soothe pain from inflammation caused by increased circulation from running a lot. Is this ok? I know it takes away pain, reduces inflammation, and increases blood circulation. Also I got the blood flowing through some decadent veins and arteries on my skull. It is really annoying but gets better everyday. What do you think?
Avatar f tn I have a shoulder problem and used to be on strong pain killers, but my doctor told me to change to heat rubs!
Avatar n tn //www.drugs.com/voltaren-gel.html. Diclofenac is voltaren and the gel contains the Nsaid. This information states clearly that aspirin should not be used at the same time. Normally, blood thinners are also not used with Nsaids. So, speak with your doctor, of course, but would advise not to use these together based on the provided information.
Avatar f tn I have no idea about creams and what to avoid but if you're that worried it doesn't hurt to call your doctor and ask or go to the er and tell them what happened. If you're hurting anywhere I'd definitely go to er.
Avatar f tn I would love to hear feedback from anyone who has been taking Voltaren...I have been thru the mill with Suprytz knee injections, full series of epidural spinal injections, many trials of anti inflams, physial therapy etc. etc (all to no avail)... Two days ago my rheumatologist stared me on Voltaren and I am pain free for the first time in one year....I am afaid to get my hopes up as this seems too good to be true....
880900 tn?1467270141 I use the voltarin gel as well. Also on largish areas of the body, but I have to be careful as it will make me super nauseaus. My doc said it was like a "super anti-inflammatory" that absorbs through the skin. It only works for certain types of pain on me. For example it doesn't do anything for my nerve pain, but it helps my joints and the long muscles that ache on me in the morning or after walking. There is also a new patch on the market my doc tried on me.
Avatar f tn So I've had hip pain for about 7 months. I went to her after months of voltaren, metsal, Celebrex etc and she says it's bursitis and that I'll need steroid injections. If it is muscle how come it only got worse the next day when I stretched? And the voltaren didn't help. Also when I'm working or doing physical activity it kinda becomes numb but the pain comes later on. In the cold it's a focused sharp pain rather than all over. Is this signs of bursitis?
Avatar f tn does an orthopaedic boot support both knee and ankle? I use Voltaren gel and take Tramadol twice a day.
230262 tn?1316645934 I was just given Voltaren Gel(diclofenac sodium topical get 1%) for my neck pain(spinal cord nerve damage) and muscle spasms in my shoulders. I've been using it for the past few days and it has worked wonders for the pain in my shoulders. It comes in pill form too and it is geared for arthritis and pain. I was surprised how quickly it reduced my shoulder pain.
Avatar f tn Let your OB know. I used to take Voltaren before I became pregnant and had to stop months before I conceived.
Avatar m tn It hurts no matter how I lie to sleep. I have taken some pills that are not strong enough to take the pain away. I think I need the strong stuff like diclofenac and B12 and b6. There is a pills called OKA B that I use to take when having muscle pain and it took pains away. But I've heard that diclofenac is not good to take during tx. Has anyone taken diclofenac during tx or is it too bad for the liver.
Avatar f tn I've given up on using the creams for my arthitis. I used to use joint-ritis, but it's been discontinued now, also it was a roll on and not cream.
Avatar n tn It still itches and I reuse to use the creams again. I am supposed to use these creams a few times a day. I did that the first 2 days. I can feel small pimple like eruptions under my skin on my face and neck beside the round raised blotches on my face. What do you think is the problem? H-E-L-P !!!!! Please. Thank you for any advice you can offer me.
Avatar f tn ve found that a combination of Aleve (naproxen) and voltaren gel helps take the edge off of the pain. Voltaren gel is an anti-inflammatory gel that you would rub on your hands. It contains diclofenac, a strong prescription anti-inflammatory medication. You could ask your doctor about it to see if it will help in addition to the steroid shots. I haven't had the steroid shots in my hand before so I can't comment on that but someone else may be able to.
Avatar f tn This drug is the same thing that is in the Voltaren gel that I've been prescribed for external use on my osteoarthritis of the thumbs. I also have cirrhosis and I did some research on the drug. My hepatologist did give me the okay to use it, but after reading this FDA warning on possible liver damage from the drug (http://www.fda.gov/safety/medwatch/safetyinformation/safetyalertsforhumanmedicalproducts/ucm193047.htm) I've been exceedingly cautious and sparing in its use.
Avatar m tn ve done / am still doing PT, ICE, Tens, Heat, voltaren gel and I still have no long term relief. I have had one cortisone short 9 months ago and it worked for a short period of time. Here are the findings of the MRI (actual summary attached) 1. Moderate sized left elbow joint effusion. Effusion is swelling within a joint. 2. There is a 12mm sized area of edema involving the common extensor tendon, compatible with lateral epicondylitis. Edema is swelling that occurs outside a joint.
1275919 tn?1279836004 Before that, they had me using Voltaren gel, which I did get a little relief from. I find this new compounding cream to be more effective than the Voltaren. I'd be interested in hearing about anyone using ketamine in any fashion.
Avatar f tn You might ask your dr for Voltaren Gel. It's a TOPICAL non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. I used it for the nerve pain in the tops of my feet with good results.
Avatar n tn You sound really great! Don't worry about the Xanax; just make sure you take it as prescribed. I feel for you with the cold and arthritis. I have it very bad in most of my joints. I had an implant put in my left thumb because the whole joint was shattered from the arthritis. It's hereditary on both sides of my family. And it seems to hit the women worse and at a younger age.
Avatar f tn Along with marycarmel suggestions, you may want to try Voltaren gel which is an anti-inflammatory gel that you rub right where it hurts and it reduces inflammation and thus reduces pain and it may relieve some of the stiffness you are experiencing as well. Also, you could try lidoderm patches - they are non narcotic patches that contain lidocaine (a local anesthetic) which will numb the affected area.
Avatar f tn If so make sure you use lots of the gel in the end and place it right above your pubic bone. Use that as ur guide basically. Move slowly from one side to the other. When you get too far over like close to your ovary you will pick up your pulse so u know u have gone too far. It will usually be in that center area right above the pubic bone. It will be really fast and sound like a galloping horse when u get babys heartbeat. Good luck.
Avatar n tn t always easy doing it, would make my hips feel better the rest of the day,) ibuprofen, lidoderm patchs or a prescription gel, like the Voltaren gel. My joint pain generally responds to heat better than ice (though lately I've been having trouble with bursitis in both knees and ice seems to work best for that.) Hope tomorrow is a better day for you.
