Avatar n tn Many arthritis sufferers are in a panic over the shortage of Voltaren gel (diclofenac sodium gel) and I get why they are worried. Voltaren gel is a prescription topical anti-inflammatory gel used for all kinds of arthritis pain: rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and osteoarthritis of the knees, hands and hips. People who have stomach issues from taking anti-inflammatories by mouth can bypass that problem with Voltaren gel.
Avatar m tn The FDA just announced that dicoflenac gel (brand name Voltaren Gel) often prescribed for arthritis pain is linked to severe liver damage and it can happen within the first month of use According to the FDA, this topical gel has been reported to cause liver necrosis (death of liver cells), jaundice, and liver failure some cases of which have required liver transplant and some that have been fatal! Despite these horrible side effects, dicoflenac gel remains on the market.

20658748 tn?1503020245 Hello all, for about 11 months now I have been having unexplained joint pain on both my fingers, wrists, elbows, knees, & ankles. I've gotten x-rays on my wrist around October 2016 and it turned out fine. I've been tested for arthritis and lupus but it came negative. I've tried pain killers, rubbing alcohol, and voltaren gel but nothing helps.
Avatar f tn Lately I have been putting Voltaren gel on my forehead. I'm doing this to soothe pain from inflammation caused by increased circulation from running a lot. Is this ok? I know it takes away pain, reduces inflammation, and increases blood circulation. Also I got the blood flowing through some decadent veins and arteries on my skull. It is really annoying but gets better everyday. What do you think?
Avatar f tn does an orthopaedic boot support both knee and ankle? I use Voltaren gel and take Tramadol twice a day.

4968581 tn?1361893384 there are many treatments for people for various conditions. Talk to your doctor about what is best for your particular situation. Arthritis Arthritis is a condition characterized as inflammation of the joints. Hepatitis C-related arthritis (HCVrA) is estimated to affect about 4% of the HCV population, but since most patients will not see an arthritis specialist the true number is likely higher.

Avatar n tn My doctor also wrote a prescription for a compounding cream. I getit for the RSD but use it for the arthritis as well. Mine has Fentanyl, Baclofan, gabapentin and a few other drugs. I am sensitive to a lot of medications so this is a good alternative. I have also done a bunch of procedures and some physical therapy and occupational therapy. I had been swimming, which helped a lot but I haven't been doing it for a while. I want to try acupuncture but my insurance won't cover it.
655875 tn?1295695107 Has anyone tried biofreeze? This is an over the counter gel geared for sore muscles and aches. Someone at church has a similar injury as me and swears by this gel. This gel also has really good reviews on amazon.com too. I hope this helps with the muscle spasms I have since I can not take a muscle relaxer. It will get it through the mail on Wednsday next week. Anyone here use this?
Avatar m tn The Lidoderm patch is awesome....so is Voltaren Gel which will help your arthritis (the reason I use it). Another thing is the drawing out of fluid....I had a non-invasive knee surgery 6 years ago and it helped a LOT....I still have arthritis in that knee but the pain reduced by over 75%. I was off my feet for two days....one month of rehab....and I was off my cane and I am still off my cane unless I am walking on uneven ground. Acupuncture is another route you can go.
Avatar n tn //www.drugs.com/voltaren-gel.html. Diclofenac is voltaren and the gel contains the Nsaid. This information states clearly that aspirin should not be used at the same time. Normally, blood thinners are also not used with Nsaids. So, speak with your doctor, of course, but would advise not to use these together based on the provided information.
Avatar f tn You'll be fine.
Avatar f tn Two days ago my rheumatologist stared me on Voltaren and I am pain free for the first time in one year....I am afaid to get my hopes up as this seems too good to be true....I know this mediation can be hard on the stomach so I am going to make sure that I always take it with food...so far I feel great all the way around but it is only 2 days....Comments anyone ? ...Thank you..
Avatar n tn Fentanyl is the only med that helps my two degenerative diseases, and turned it down years ago. Why do you want to know this?, and if you don't mind sharing a little about your situation to possibly help you more appropriately. Thanks..
