280234 tn?1532986249 I did see a retinal specialist a year ago after noticing the floater, and he said I do not have a PVD yet or retinal detachment. But anyway, I was just wondering what would be some good eye vitamins I could take to possibly help preserve what vision I have these days? Cataracts & nearsightedness run in my family... So are there any specific vitamins that might be good for those conditions? I am 29 & female. Thank you.....
4209053 tn?1351516914 I officially broke it off with my boyfriend whom gets me my pills. So after feeling like total crap yesterday, can someone tell me what vitamins may help my energy and sickness?
Avatar f tn Generally it is a retina specialist who has expertise in inherited (genetic) disorders of the eye. The vitamins will hopefully stabilize the vision, but probably will not improve the vision.
Avatar m tn But doesn't a good diet include vitamins. As far as i know vitamins make part of all healthy diets. Or am i wrong?
Avatar m tn I has never seen any symptoms of her struggling for a clear vision. In this situation, should my daughter use eyeglasses, if advised by the doctor. What should I do if the doctor prescribes the use of eyeglasses? Should I follow the doctor's advice or try other means? One of my friends suggested to me that I have to check the eyes of my daughter regularly from time to time, feed her with all the required vitamins and ask her to do some eye excercises and yoga.
Avatar m tn Hello, doctor(s), I had a couple of concerns that I wish to be answered. Since about a year ago I started having blurry vision. I'm on the computer or watching TV anywhere from 0-16 hours a day. I'm 16 and have being diagnosed with Astigmatism in my left eye, and nearsightedness in both eyes and was given a .5 prescription. I have gotten these glasses and see perfectly fine with them on, and a little bit blurry reading distant names, etc.
Avatar f tn I did have a short period of very bad vision. I actually had issues a lot of vision darkness when it was not dark at all. I never herd of that before, but it was one of several very strange things when I was extremely hypo between med brands and one that was longer in production. The Dr said this was a sign of Hashimoto myomexima coma coming on - keep in mind I was very hypo and my body was not working.
Avatar f tn Patients with the Wet and Dry forms of Macular Degeneration may benefit from Macular Health vitamins. Avatar m tn Will these vitamins prevent from further degeration or improve the vision and how long should he take these vitamins? My dad is 70 years old and underwent byepass surgery last year. At present he cannot read/write and recognize the person's face. Moreover no glasses suits his eyes. I have heard of screal buckling treatment for chorioretinal degeneration. please suggest.
Avatar n tn If you are nutrionally deficient, then a daily beta carotene supplement might improve night vision espcially. If you are healthy and well nourished, I don't foresee that vitamin supplements will improve your vision. If you have macular degeneration, then special vitamin formulas have been shown to slow the progression of the disease and some studies also show a protective effect against cataracts as you age.

Avatar f tn You say it caused vision problems?? That is not good....this is a problem for your doctor...have you seen them and described your problems? After a year of actively trying to conceive you may be eligible to see a fertility expert...Vitamins won't help you get pregnant, they'll just help you stay healthy while you're pregnant and nursing.
Avatar n tn There are several things that could cause this type of vision change, and there may be things the ophthalmologist can do to improve your vision depending on what is happening. I can't think of a better option for you than making an ophthalmologist appointment now for an exam. Be sure to tell the doctor when your symptoms began, what vision problems you have, and bring a list of any other health problems as well as all medications, vitamins and supplements you take.
1438750 tn?1302819443 When my migraine first presented I was left with something called visual snow where I see white static in my field of vision along with afterimages and trails... this has settled over the years and seems better. Recently however I have noticed that when walking on a sidewalk I can see the cracks in the side walk jerking.. almost as if my vision is fragmented. I am also having issues when I am in the car watching other cars pass by...
Avatar m tn Ok so a month and half ago I had problems with numbness and tingling in my etremities which resolved after a couple weeks, my GP though I had stress so he gave me some stress tabs from himself(idk the name), everything went by cool untill a few days later, I started noticing 2 floaters in my vision, I thought they are normal so went out that night and realized I have starbursts and halo in my vision, along with glare.

Avatar m tn Thank you for your question. Although without being able to examine you I can not offer you the specific advice on diagnosis and treatment that you need, but I would try to provide you some relevant information about your health concern. The fact is once optic nerve atrophy develops it is very difficult to reverse. Few nutrients such as lutein, l-lysine, few vitamins & enzymes, and fish oil may help in Optic Nerve Atrophy and may be a good help in preserving the vision.
