Common Questions and Answers about Vitamins good for acne

vitamin

Avatar n tn I agree- I dont think think a lack of vitamins would cause acne- but it doesnt hurt to take vitamins just for healthy living! I use and love proactiv. I'm a 24/f and I also suffer from breakouts and proactiv works really well. Try drinking a lot of water too- it really helps clear up your skin! I know accutane works- but I also know a lot of people who have suffered some adverse reactions from it. i would search www.adverse-drug-reaction.
Avatar f tn I've been using a moisturiser that contains less than 3% salicylic acid for acne. Would this affect fertility? The reason I am asking is because DH and I are TTC and we haven't had any luck in the past 3 cycles. We got pregnant immediately (seriously, within a week I knew I was pregnant) with our first child. I never used the moisturiser before because I didn't have acne but my last pregnancy really messed up my skin BIG TIME.
Avatar n tn Now I have persistant and large acne on my cheeks and jawline, including cystic acne. The acne is ever present and not just once a month. My current dermo (not the one who proscribed Accutane) tells me that it's hormonal (I believe this) and that I will just have to deal with it for the rest of my life (I don't want to accept this). She does Cortosone injections on occasion for the cysts because I cannot, for the life of me, leave my face alone.
Avatar f tn I have tried acne products from a to z, herbal vitamins, regular vitamins, changing my diet, have done hours of research on acne, and have tried hormon regulaters. I have a doctors appointment coming up I will post what they tell me and the options they give me.
Avatar f tn ve suffered pretty bad back acne for years now, and I was wondering if back acne (especially cystic type) can lead to swollen lymph nodes? Specifically, the persistent swollen node I am referencing is the supra-vascular. Thanks!
Avatar f tn I am a 25 year old female. I am on isotretinoin for acne. But recently my general physician prescribed vitamin B-complex supplements for other health problems. Is it safe to take vitamin B-Complex capsules with isotretinoin? I am not any other medication.
Avatar f tn Engage in a diet that is low in sugar and fat but is rich in vitamins. This prevents acne by preventing the buildup of excess oil on the skin. Also refrain from touching or squeezing your shoulder acne. Also try to keep your hair free of dandruff by using good antidandruff shampoos You can also apply benzoyl peroxide creams or clindamycin cream on the acne. If the symptoms persist, then oral antibiotics may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist then.
Avatar f tn Afew days after the injections my face broke out in what looks to me like acne. How long will it take for the Bvitamins to leave my system and will the spots go away?
Avatar f tn Hi everyone! I'm looking for natural remedies like supplements and vitamins that are best for combatting it. I've heard saw palmetto and licorice helps, but I wanted to know what you ladies use personally and what works best. I have hirsutism, terrible acne and I am overweight. I also believe I am prediabetic, as my grandmother on my father's side had diabetes and my mother, so it runs in both sides of the family.
Avatar m tn This may pinpoint what nutritional values you are lacking in your diet. Sometimes simple multi-day vitamins appropriate for your body type/age will help bring your levels into check. You may also want to take vitamins geared towards skin health, immune system, and blood cells. Also, make sure you're drinking plenty of water and eating a healthy diet. Water will flush your skin and organs of toxins that may be causing the acne.
Avatar f tn 9 weeks along and I've been breaking out like there's no tomorrow. I use to break out like this before I started my period. I'm only assuming it's from my hormones and/or the vitamins I'm taking. Either way, I disapprove.
Avatar m tn Hi. Vitamins A, C and E and zinc may benefit the complexion. However, when you eat your body delivers nutrients to your other organs such as heart and brain, before your skin. Therefore, a good diet does not always result in glowing skin. Exfoliating to remove dead skin is very helpful. I recommend using a good cleanser and exfoliator like the Perfectly Clean range from Estee Lauder. Clarins make a cleanser and exfoliator in one with orange extract.
Avatar n tn As far as diet is concerned, low carb and low calorie are good, but you also need to make sure that you are getting the the vitamins and minerals that you need- do you track micro nutrients at all? Do you take a multi-vitamin? You may check those areas. Was the tretinoin given to you for acne? Have you called the doctor to let them know you are seeing these areas after using the cream? I would also give your doctor a call and let them know what you are seeing.
10028419 tn?1416841704 Im guessing its my hormones from the pregnancy and maybe my vitamins because biotin has always broke me out. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do or what can help my problem? I use Olay cleanser and I recently stopped using my clean and clean moisturizer cause I felt like it was making it works. Help!!
Avatar n tn t say what you have already tried but the standard treatment for body acne is a course of oral antibiotics like Oxytetracycline 250mg twice daily and a topical retinoid gel such as Retin-a. It would be unusual to get acne on your arms, this is more likely to be keratosis pilaris rubra. However, Retin-a is also effective for this condition.
Avatar n tn m surprised your doctor would prescribe this medication unless it really bothers you and you have exhausted all other avenues. For a lot of people acne, especially just mild acne, is just part of life. Good luck to you whatever you choose!
9442948 tn?1406816451 This is my second pregnancy and I am having some weird things happening that did not happen with my first. For example, I haven't had acne in over 10 years. I have developed horrible acne this month (I am 4 weeks 5 days) my nails are flimsy this pregnancy instead of growing like crazy and my skin tone has never had blotchy uneven colored spots! I take vitamins and have always taken very good care of myself (very clean diet, exercise etc) so this is a little annoying.
Avatar f tn I am hypothyroid and take NatureThroid to 'balance' my thyroid. Currently, I am on 1 1/2 grains per day. I feel like my thyroid is all over the place and is never balanced. I'm good for 3 months, then I get unbalanced again. My main problems are extreme acne and extreme fatigue. I am a 33 year old female and was diagnosed approximatley 2 years ago. Today, I received my blood work back and am confused and was hoping someone could shed some light on what's going on.
Avatar n tn A pic would be ideal to give a diagnosis. As for Acne take a course of VitA for about 15 days, with calamine application.Pregnancy would be a contra for vitA,and longer course not recommended.Do consult your doc.You can aso take Bcarotene instead either as capsules or as nutritional supplement.
Avatar f tn ve heard every pregnancy is different, so therefore so are the symptoms. Maybe it could be the prenatal vitamins? I was taking some I bought from Walmart until my first doctors visit then they prescribed me some. I was sick constantly with the ones from Walmart. But as soon as I got on the others I haven't been sick since. I also heard a lot of girls on here talking about taking the vitamin right before bed. Maybe you could try that. I hope it goes away soon! I know it s.u.c.k.s!
Avatar n tn I appreciate the antibiotics, but they haven't done much for me either. But have you tried low percentage retin-a cream? This may be a solution for you. Applied at night, the thin layer of cream can do wonders in a matter of weeks, and over several months, there's a big improvement. I've used it as an acne treatment, and my 50+ age mother uses it for acne, wrinkles, and overall skin appearance. She looks fabulous for her age!
Avatar f tn ( ive heard around that some wemon get these rashes and or acne when pregnant but WTF ur supposed to glow and have nice skin from the vitamins right!!!?? UGH THIS *****! i feel so gross.

Avatar f tn I know it can take some time for some and a short time for others. We are heading to florida on sunday for a week so I am hoping that I may Ovulate while we are down there and can do some baby making. Is this too much to ask for? Does it help to start taking pre-natal vitamins now? Any thoughts are appreciated. Wish us luck!
