Vitamin d3 lab test

Common Questions and Answers about Vitamin d3 lab test

vitamin

Avatar m tn I have sent a prescription to your preferred pharmacy and have placed an order for your follow-up test at the lab. After you reach a normal level of vitamin D, you will need to increase your maintenance dose by about 1000-1200 IU/day, which we can discuss after your next test. Please call my office if you have any questions". Is this recommendation standard? How come he didn't mention taking D3 supplement?
Avatar f tn The only blood test that can diagnose vitamin D deficiency is a 25-hydroxy-vitamin D (25 OH vitamin D). Unfortunately, some doctors are still ordering the wrong test, 1,25-dihydroxy-vitamin D. Magnesium is essential, you need to take it with your D3. Take D3 with some sort of fat (like coconut oil, avocado, peanut butter, etc. it helps D3 & K2 absorb). Take D3 in morning or afternoon. Not at night. It may keep you up.
Avatar f tn I asked my doctor for a full check up as I felt tired most of the time and had weight gain. The result shows low Vitamin D ( 23 nmol/L) , TSH - 2.9 mU/L , Vitamin B12 - 354 pmol/L , Serum Folate - 38.5 nmol/L , Iron - 12.0 umol/L, MCH - 26.0 pg . Is it all normal ?
Avatar n tn I tested my vitamin D level. What do my results mean? I just picked the last two levels since the article is very long.... "My level is between 100-150 ng/ml Although these levels aren’t toxic and aren’t usually harmful, they are thought to be too high. There are no known benefits to having a vitamin D level over 100 ng/ml.
Avatar m tn My vitamin b12 was 280. Lab range 200-900. Why do you all think. I have neurological symptoms. What do you all think?
Avatar f tn Your D3 is severely deficient. I was at 19ng/mL in September and will retest my blood in a few weeks. You can get D3 in a liquid if you don't like to swallow pills US lab range is 30-100ng/mL. You need to be above 50ng/mL. Anything below should be considered deficient. D and magnesium deficiency can cause depression, fatigue, anxiety, pain, brain fog, headache, eye sensitivity, etc.
Avatar m tn Insofar as taking vitamin D3 supplements, my feeling is that you should have an inexpensive D3 level test performed before taking supplements. A so-called "normal" level is 30 on the test. 3000 IU per day is not excessively high. Patients are often given 50,000 IU in a once weekly supplement. Excess vitamin D3 can cause alterations in blood calcium, although that would be unlikely at the dose you have recommended. My guess is that the tiredness is related to the hepatitis.
2200173 tn?1339840159 I had severe magnesium deficiency and after 6 months taking 5000IU daily of vitamin D3, my vitamin D levels only rose from 12ng/mL to 16ng/mL (30nmol/L to 40nmol/L). My existing severe existing magnesium deficiency symptoms worsened as vitamin D "uses up" magnesium to convert to active vitamin D in the blood. I could not get my vitamin D or calcium levels up until i corrected my magnesium deficiency. A good tip is keep magnesium levels optimal!
Avatar f tn Of course with taking the meds, ya have to be careful not to burn as your skin is more sensitive and I am not advising anyone on meds to do this - I am doing it because as soon as the summer sun went away, my vitamin D level started to immediately drop.....
Avatar m tn On 28-Feb-2016 I have repeated all test as mention below from well know and most authentic lab in my city, => HBsAg (Quantitative) 21390 iu/ml (Abbot Architect) => HBeAg Negative => HBeAB Positive => HCV Negative => HDV Negative => ALT 79 => Vitamin-D 30.4 ng/ml => HBV DNA (PCR) should be received by tomorrow evening and well be shared. Now I am looking forward to your kind response.
1548028 tn?1324612446 Got some materials sent to us from MS Foundation (not sure why) but I was reading and they say sometimes lack of Vitamin D can cause problems. Did any of you get a lab test to see if you were low or did you just take supplements? Do any of you take vitamins?
Avatar m tn Before further discussion, please confirm that those are Free T4 and Free T3, not Total T4 andTotal T3. Also, please post the reference ranges for those tests, as shown on the lab report. Your Vitamin d result is much too low. You need to supplement to bring it up to 50. Even more important than test results, please tell us about any symptoms you have.
Avatar m tn For these reasons I think that while a test for 25 hydroxy vitamin D3 may be a good indicator, we should be measuring the active form, the 1,25 dihydroxy vitamin D3.
Avatar f tn Vitamin D3 is produced by skin exposure to sunlight. It is necessary for a number of reasons, from muscular contraction to keeping the immune system operative. Calcium cannot be utilized properly without the presence of D3.
5844567 tn?1378967719 How could i recover my deficiency of VITAMIN d3! i am 26 year female and my value is JUST 7.5 !! please help me out !! i am very worried !!
299155 tn?1235489269 I started taking vitamin D3 after it was discovered I was low on vitamin D. They ran a vitamin D25 test, and said I was low and needed D3. My hormone levels haven't become stable yet, although they are pretty close at the moment. I have new hair coming in right now. My wife informed me the balding spot on top of my head (that I was not aware of!) is filling in. I have read a hundred different stories of when and how and if the falling out stops and the filling in resumes.
Avatar m tn Goldcal D3 contains Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) which is a fat soluble vitamin, that helps the body to absorb calcium and phosphorous found in food and supplements. Although there are some tests that show a relationship between vit D and cholesterol, it is not probable that the intake of one capsue affected the outcome of your cholesterol levels the next day. Lab results are very reliable, so you can assume that you indeed have high cholesterol levels.
