Avatar f tn She has prescribed Lyrica for me for some of the nerve pain. Has anyone else tried this? Has it worked for you? I have been losing my peripheral vision on and off, and it is almost impossible for me to move my head without excruciating pain. I had an LP performed quite recently and as a result, I have a CSF leak. Can LP's make chiari symptoms worse? I read that on a web-site and didn't know whether to dismiss it or not.
Avatar f tn Your insurance company or the American Academy of Pain Managemeent would be the best places for finding Pain Management physicians in your area.
Avatar n tn and I have 6 packages, 10 to a package, of Walgreens super thin II, short needle, 0.5 cc, 30 gauge syrings, holds up to 50 units of insulin. Please put free syringes in the subject matter.
Avatar n tn Thank you so much for your responses. I will try to locate the doctor you both described, however I live in a fairly small town and I doubt we have anyone that specialized here. My insurance is also an HMO so I would have to convince my PCP that I need a referral, which is not always possible and may be complicated by the fact that my insurance is medical only and doesn't cover vision.
Avatar f tn Check with your insurance my insurance covers me for 2 pumps. The medical supply company sent a request to my obgyn and they approved and then the company sent it to my doorstep! Couldn't be easier.
1079987 tn?1258040916 Here is the email I just got from the Wisconsin Chiari Center. It sounds like Dr. H may atleast be able to do something.....I hope. Megan, Dr. Heffez reviewed your films over the weekend. He states that you have a small Chiari and is questioning a tethered cord. If you would like to come to The Wisconsin Chiari Center we would need to get your insurance information to obtain any prior authorizations you may need.

Avatar f tn Just curious to see if there is anyone else here that lives in norteastern Wisconsin. Hope everyone has a great week.
Avatar f tn You can get AIM even though you have insurance as long as your insurance does not cover pregnancy or your deductible is more than $500. They charge you based on an income scale and give you 12 months to pay it in monthly payments. I have to pay $792 with monthly payments of $66. Which is way better than 6500. Maybe your state has a program similar to it.
Avatar m tn 5 months ago, Im 53 years old and had RK 15 years ago. My vision is worse now than before and I now need glasses all day to see far. I went for a second opinion and he said that too strong of an implant was put in. I did have laser done 1 month after the surgery so he said replacing the implant now cant be done. Is this correct?? I would like the right power implant put in instead of the too strong one I now have.
Avatar n tn Then I started missing my vision, having blury vision, loss of balance, concentration issues, memory issues, ringing of the ears, and more. I had chiari noted an an MRI but the neurons said it wasn't causing the issues. I went to the Wisconsin chiari center and the did a lot of testing including checking the flow. They said I definitely have chiari but my flow is fine.
2073947 tn?1333731698 The good news is that Dr. Heffez's office has received my information/MRIs. The bad news is that he doesn't take my insurance (which I kind of figured). So, as of right now, I only seem to have one other option (Dr. Jamie Baisden) who I KNOW does accept my insurance. Anyone else have any ideas for a NS in the Milwaukee area?
Avatar f tn In texas they do not. If your state questions it just say you have a private financial agreement in place already.
168348 tn?1379357075 I have an insurance claim consultant coming to assess the damage from a F@#$%# tree that fell on my house on Sunday and damaged the roof and picture window. I know a certain member from a while ago would find this halarious - since we talked many times last year about me needing a roof and not able to afford it. Now - it sounds like insurance will be picking up the tab along with a new window. Still it's a pain .......... Lovely Spring weather in Wisconsin I tell ya!
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with myopic degeneration and receive the intraocular injection which is very effective. My insurance carrier will not cover the cost of the injection (medicine and surgery). If I had a diagnosis of macular degeneration it would be fully covered. I am looking for suggestions as to how to make my case with the insurance carrier that this is not a one time event but a chronic condition that if not treated would result in a loss of vision.
233488 tn?1310693103 Thank you so much for that piece of info! If possible, could you highlight the "patient selection" requirement? Thanks! I am taking the forum's vast wealth of knowledge and experience and decided on mono-vision (near/intermediate) for my surgery. One eye is already near (-3.5D), so the other will be targetted for computer reading. Progressive glasses for everything out in the yonder. Crossing my fingers that I don't get dizzy!
Avatar f tn t know whether the cause of your problem is similar to what I had. Dr. Bertram Kushner (a binocular vision specialist at the University of Wisconsin) has described how monovision can lead to double vision in vulnerable people. I'd be happy to send you the articles if you send me your email address in a private message. He suggests that if you stop doing monovision immediately, there's a good chance that your vision will return to normal.
Avatar n tn My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment.
Avatar f tn I went to see my dr at about 3 weeks of pregnancy, I don't see how they can turn you away because you're not that far along. I would go soon so they can check for a heart beat and whatnot.
