Common Questions and Answers about Vision insurance trends

insurance

Avatar n tn plus my Dr said as young as i was , why have it on my insurance? if you change jobs or you get a new health insurance than there it is and most will not cover something that they know is going to cost lots money for them and there is no cure. so all that said your so much better off not doing the test and just living right and see what happens in your older years. hope this helps a little, i can say as a care giver it is not easy and it takes a lot out of you so take care of yourself.
Avatar m tn I have had low RBC since 2012, and occasionally low WBC, what i mean occasionally, my ranges for abc can just get into normal range by 1 but always trends low. My HCT is never higher than 37 and HGB never higher than 12. My RBC count never higher than 4 and WBC never higher than 4.1. Has anyone encounter this before? I see a Hematologist next Wednesday. My symptoms are fatigue, weakness, bruising, hair falling out, very light headed, dizzy spells, blurred vision and headaches.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with myopic degeneration and receive the intraocular injection which is very effective. My insurance carrier will not cover the cost of the injection (medicine and surgery). If I had a diagnosis of macular degeneration it would be fully covered. I am looking for suggestions as to how to make my case with the insurance carrier that this is not a one time event but a chronic condition that if not treated would result in a loss of vision.
Avatar n tn My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment.
Avatar m tn I have found one of the most disturbing trends of my panic attacks is to seem non-temporal.As in, i dont know what started it, what will end it, nor which parts came first. In a typical major panic/dizzy, a pressure behind my eyes is generated. This immediatly preceeds the panic, by mere moments. But I cant tell which causes which. Its maddening. I get this sort of thing a lot. When i turn my head during a severe attack, it causes dizzyness..
1753162 tn?1317278184 Spinal MRI $5000-$8000 more. All insurance claims go to one central place in New Jersey where the insurance industry studies the trends. I have learned all this from these Government health care meeting I go to. Everything a Doctor does is ruled by the Insurance Company and there coding. In real time I can go on the computer and see every test I have had and every prescription I have gotten filled. I wondered how my Neurologist knew recent changes in Medication before I told him.
Avatar f tn Also, see if there is a birth center near you. I know our local BC has options for families with no insurance. The total out of pocket to deliver there and be seen throughout the pregnancy is about $4500 compared to 3x that amount about the hospital.
Avatar n tn s father insurance he has really good insurance...

1282384 tn?1271431332 Now my left eye is acting up and I do not have any insurance since I got laid off over a year ago and have not been able to find work. I'm concerned about driving since my vision is so distorted in sunlight. I'm wondering how bad will my vision get and are there any options for me to get the surgery done without insurance...like payment plans or something?
Avatar f tn Hello! So I got a new job and didn't sign up for the vision plan because I have plenty of contacts, so decided to sign up during enrollment in January, but I did sign up for Medica health insurance. Now I have a growth in the corner of my eye. Not on the eyeball but in the way corner next to the nose. It is red, doesn't hurt or itch, is just super annoying because it touches by eye sometimes and feels like some eye boogers and I constantly want to rub it away.

1530342 tn?1405016490 With every report, economic experts and analysts give their overview of the hiring situation and trends. Although the big picture suggests the hiring situation has improved from the start of the recession to today, one question remains the same: "Where are the jobs?" Avatar n tn Hi, I'm currently using a minimed 715 paradigm, and love it! My sister works for Medtronics and has the NEW New Real Time system. The brand new glucose sensor is about the size of a nickel around, and is not as thick as the model shown in the pictures. I've see the real time unit in action, it still has some minor issues with exact glucose readings, but it's great watching the trends in real time, Which are showing glucose values very accurate, during my observation.
507504 tn?1291967104 the lightaheadness as gone away a little bit except when using bathroom when pushing i see more dots and more light and lightheades...what does this mean ? have no insurance and wont until middle of nov..
6725113 tn?1392847526 Im so excited. I just got home from shopping. I got sooooo much stuff today & some REALLY good deals. I have 32 more days & decided to wait until the end to finish up some shopping so I would have something to do to keep busy lol. My last two boys I had EVERYTHING I needed by like 26-28 weeks & then had to wait for baby with nothing to occupy my time...so I changed it up this time haha.
233488 tn?1310693103 Don't take your doctor's word that your insurance won't cover the multifocal lens. My insurance paid for it after I explained all the facts to them. The doctors office had only submitted it after I hounded them about it. When they did it went as a non-medically necessary facility charge. When I explained to insurance it was not that. When a cataract is removed a lens is necessary. This marked the cost from $2,000 down to $120. that insurance covered.
Avatar f tn I'm 24 years old and started having occasional increased eye pressures at around 12. My vision in left eye is 20/60 and in right eye is 20/240. In the last 2 years I've had 3 eye examinations which all came back with pressures increased in both eyes left ranges 22-24 but right eye is 29-34. My eye DR. did a visual field test and it seems I have a blind spot in my upper right field in the right eye.
Avatar f tn I have Chiari Malformation and I had decompression surgery where they removed the bottom of my skull and the top half of the C1 vertebrae. I also still have chronic migraines and I don’t have vision insurance to go have a full work up at the optometrist. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The “magnification” of the left eye is pretty bothersome. I also have very frequent blurry vision that I can’t clear up by blinking or rubbing my eyes.
2204316 tn?1338833844 I was on 4 different eye drops, had antibiotics (oral and 2 shots), steroids, and saw 3 different doctors. It finally cleared up but the vision in my left eye is now changed. It is blurry and I see a halo around lights at night. The opthamologist said my eyes were dry and advised me to use dry eye drops. I had just gotten new glasses and contacts a couple months before and now I can't wear my contacts and can't see that well with my glasses.
Avatar f tn I live in Texas & just qualified for Medicaid for Pregnant Women since I have a deductable with my insurance & it won't cover my appts. I was just wondering if it covers dentist visits & vision & stuff or do I have to have full medicaid for that? Anybody know?
892068 tn?1241306467 m 51 and spent the last seven years going through six optometrists trying to get clear distance vision for driving. Note that not one did a pupil dilation. My initial visit with the first office was because I complained of double vision at night. This was after having worn Ortho-Ks for 12 years with tremendous satisfaction with 20/10 correction. Last year I was finally been diagnosed with cataracts of both eyes.
Avatar n tn I would suggest you insist your doctor give your husband a full refraction (eye exam) and find out exactly what his prescription is, including any astigmatism, then see if he can be helped with progressive glasses. If his vision improves with glasses and he can see to read and drive he will be in better shape than many other Rezoom patients.
