My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment.

You could start by checking with your local social service department to see if he qualifies for any state or federal program. You could then ask the social worker or psychologist at a low vision clinic usually affiliated with a university for info. regarding services.
Hi. I've been dealing with recurring flashes in my left eye, and have been working with a doctor who is monitoring them. However, it's after hours right now, and I just experienced some flashes with a simultaneous shadow in a different part of my eye, and I'm not sure if this means I've got a tear or not. The flashes always occur in the outside corner of my eye, while the shadow appeared across the lower left corner and bottom of my eye.
It all started 2 months ago i noticed i had a dark spot in the top left corner of my vision of my right eye. it wasn't big enough for me to notice when i had both eyes open. Little by little its grown to cover at least 40% of the vision on my right eye when im looking straight. When i look all the way to the right the black spot covers 80% of my vision and if i look all the way towards my left its like 10%. I know its confusing but im really freaked out.
(the oil was used versus the gas due to the changes in altitudes where I live) The retina has re-detached, I also have a very thick cataract, no insurance and no money for further treatment and I now have almost no eye sight at all, not even lights and shadows. My question is this: will it be ok for me to fly a commercial airliner or will the high altitude cause further damage.
You might want to reapply for approval because I was just informed by my insurance co. that the new health care laws go into effect today which eliminates lifetime limits, pre-existing conditions, and other things that I used to have.
If drug treatment is covered by your health insurance- can it be denied as a "pre-existing condition" if you were getting treatment and paying out of pocket before you got the insurance??? Anybody know? Someone told my son that because of ADA it cannot be denied. Anybody know?
