Common Questions and Answers about Vision insurance self employed

Avatar f tn I think your best option is to plan ahead for the decrease in salary. Can you change your living situation temporarily and/or contact any creditors to suspend payments in order to adjust your monthly expense load for the short term? Have you purchased any short term disability insurance since you've been self employed? That might cover you. Unfortunately contracted employees generally make a really decent salary with zero benefits. I'd also look carefully at healthcare.
Avatar f tn Hi ladys! So my question is how many of you are self employed and if you are how far along were you when it started to get to uncomfortable for you to work to where you started to take ur time off until after your baby is born? Also how long do you plan on taking off? I am a FTM, self employed nail tech. I am 35wk+1 and it is starting to get really uncomfortable for me to sit for longer then a hr when I am working on a client.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know if your boyfriend is self employed are they entitled to any paid leave ?

Avatar f tn I haven't slept in so many years but what's worst is all my self employed friends don't sleep either. So while the rest of the world is fast asleep that's when we come alive! I have now re-scheduled my life around not sleeping such as super market shopping any where between 2am-5am; making deposits at atm machines during those hours and always being able to finish my work because I have learned that is the best time to get my work done w/o interruptions.
Avatar n tn I have a feeling, and this is just a feeling that they DO analize everything but behind the scenes. They will do different things for you next time to make it even better. My first failed as well, I am in my second attempt right now and we changed 2 things. This time I am going to take more Gonal F to produce more follicles and we are going to use fresh and frozen sperm instead of just frozen. We ended up purchasing additional insurance for me as my hubbys insurance didn't cover IVF.
Avatar f tn Does anyone have individual health insurance (not with an employer) that covers ANY part of infertility? I mean meds, IUI or IVF. Thanks!
Avatar n tn I live in Idaho and I am self employed. I had insurance until a year ago. It got to the point where I could not afford it, and the deductible was $7,000. I have looked around & it is so expensive or I was denied coverage. But, I will keep looking.
3197167 tn?1348968606 Hey all, I am a recovering opiate addict.....I have a very dear loved one that is very close to being ready to detox from alcohol. He is self-employed and has NO insurance. He isn't open to a 30-45 day inpatient facility, but I told him I thought there were 5-7 day detox facilities that were medically supervised.....but are there? And are there any out there that will take someone with no insurance? This would be applicable in the State of Kansas.
Avatar n tn I'm self employed and without medical insurance. My nurse set up my tx through Pegassist (Genentech 888-941-3331) no charge for meds but responsible for lab and dr. appts. If you haven't had your biopsy yet contact the hospital and look into any financial assistance they might have to offer. I was unaware of this before my bx but they put me on a 5 yr. payment plan. Yes, cost of treatment is expensive - but I feel cost of not doing treatment is too high.
320078 tn?1278344720 m now paying the full amount of my health insurance on 67% of my normal income...(Comes to $1100/mo without vision and dental). That's an entire paycheck...I got this cr*p from a dirty needle stick at work, and am now making those decisions of...Food VS family health insurance...I hadn't anticipated being away from work the entire time of txing, and now I'm too anemic to pick up 300lb people multiple times a day, not to mention ward off MRSA or anything else that gets coughed on me.
524725 tn?1212367448 You are probably more experienced with using one eye, I am also self-employed and work at home. So I have less need to drive. I am sure that you have thought it through, about whether it is responsible for you to drive. BTW, "legally blind" means uncorrectible vision of something like 20/200 or less in both eyes. So you are not legally blind.
Avatar f tn About 8 months ago, I picked up an additional job, making my total working hours about 100/week. I had a lack of sleep to say the least, so when I started getting headaches, my vision started getting a little blurry, and for the first time ever (at 20yrs) I suddenly had excessive acne, and was constantly tired, I assumed it was my work load. 5 months ago I cut myself down to 35 hours, and have thought my body was just making up for the lost sleep by ALWAYS being tired now.
Avatar m tn I AM A SELF EMPLOYED MALE AGE 45 DIAGNOSED APPROX.
497580 tn?1209789690 00, in the USA my gastro said I could not get any help because we are self employed own our house and have health ins. If I would have qualified for welfare everything would have been covered by the government.
Avatar n tn I was told the cost for a 48 wk treatment of peginterferon/ribaviron (pegasys and copegus) was around $30,000. I am a self employed single wage earner with no medical insurance. I spoke with my Dr. and because of my income they helped me apply to Pegassist through Genentech. I get all my meds at no charge but I am responsible for the cost of all lab work through the 11 months and dr. office calls.
Avatar n tn Hello everyone, I'm a 41 year old non-smoker and a 1 cm lung nodule was discovered after I had an MRI on my neck for a car accident. I've been reading through the subpleural nodule posts and it appears that none have turned out to be malignant. I'm seriously wondering if follow-up testing is even necessary for me. I have yet to see any that have actually been cancerous. Thoughts?
Avatar f tn Then thousands of tiny gray spots were added. No insurance but went to Optomitrist and he found a hole in my retina. This a.m. I can now see the bottom and left edges of the hole. It is black and looks like there are hairs in my eye. I'm not happy. No money, can't have surgery. Is there anything I can do personally to help the situation? Vitamins? Herbs? Rest?
542335 tn?1215050679 Hello, I have been diagnosed with retinal detachment in both eyes. My right eye is significantly worse however and my peripheral vision is pretty much gone. One retinal specialist I saw said that I am 95% detached in my right eye. I went to another specialist yesterday and they want me to have surgery sometime this week. The first specialist I went to suggested scleral buckling and the second one suggested vitrectomy.
Avatar f tn I have no medical insurance and I have an agressive cataract in my right eye that has made me legally blind in that eye. Does anyone know what the range of actual cost of cataract surgery sans insurance payments is. It would be mono focal and only the one eye. Any information would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn I cover my family because I have two girls and my husband is self-employed. Last year I spent about $4000 which included about three visits a piece for my girls and husband with medicine. My medicines, MRIs, etc. of course just reach out of pocket, so I am the person responsible for making that number go up so high. So, in all, I spent $6200 in premiums plus $4000 for a total of $10,200/year. I'm a teacher in Texas, so this is a good portion of my salary.
Avatar n tn My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment.
Avatar n tn My new employer offers group insurance and as I had no lapse in coverage, and I had to prove that to the insurance company, they had to honor my policy and cover all of my testing and procedures. If you are self employed or are covered under a private insurance policy, they can do pretty much whatever they want, even cancel your coverage, or so I was told by an Attorney who is also an Oncologist. Laws really need to be made to stop that from happening.
