1365830 tn?1277997291 You should check with your local department of social services. Most states have a program specifically for pregnancy. Many of those programs can be used to supplement your private health insurance. I have private health insurance that is actually pretty decent as far as covereage but becuase we hadn't met the deductible for the year when i found out I was pregnant it would have been a lot of out of pocket cost so I applied for medicaid and it was approved.
Avatar f tn Since diabetes is a pre-existing condition, insurance is very expensive. If anyone on here knows of any good prices on insurance for diabetics, please share--it would be greatly appreciated! Some great resources for locating free and low cost clinics are the two links I have listed below. These clinics usually require proof of income to be eligible for services (which can include doctor's visits and even lab work).
Avatar m tn That is because Medicaid is a joint Federal-State program. Since eligibility is an entitlement program based on income and asset guidelines and standards differ by state, one’s chances to qualify for Medicaid may vary by state. Even though Federal contribution covers approximately 50% of the costs, States pay the remaining costs and they are given wide discretion about whom to cover and what benefits to provide.
Avatar f tn Hi. Unfortunately most insurance companies won't cover anything related to infertility, especially IVF ;( I live in Southern CA & just did my 1st IVF. We applied to a program called The Attain Program through Integramed. You might want to check them out. They have a package deal, where you get up to 6 IVF attempts. It is expensive, but if you need more than one IVF cycle to get your BFP, it ends up being less expensive than paying through your doc's office.
Avatar m tn This type of treatment can cost thousands of dollars for sessions with a vision therapist, and it is usually not covered by health insurance. With 12 psd exophoria, you are at the lower end of the range of deviation which can be corrected with eye muscle surgery. I was close to your degree of deviation when I consulted a strabismus surgeon. (My condition had developed as an adult, so I had double vision as a result.

Avatar n tn You could start by checking with your local social service department to see if he qualifies for any state or federal program. You could then ask the social worker or psychologist at a low vision clinic usually affiliated with a university for info. regarding services.

Avatar f tn If you have health insurance it is quite likely that with proper documentation and pre-certification that your health insurance will pay for the surgery. If you do not have health insurance and can't afford the surgeon go to a medical school department of ophthalmology. they will often do the surgery at reduced or no charge as part of their teaching program.

1350085 tn?1279165453 I researched WA state high risk insurance pool --a state and Federal funded program, and costs can be anywhere from $300+ per month up to $1100/ month. Also, there is a 9 month wait time for pre-existing conditions. Doesn't seem right. Disturbingly it appears the program was just designed for people who have been denied other private policies---not for people who need help urgently & quickly. So nothing would get done fast and with my current face issue, I need help NOW.

1548028 tn?1324612446 I took him because he has had the blurred vision since the event in Nov. 2011 resulting in blurred vision in the left eye and eye pain. This has now become more sensative to light (especially at night in a car with lights coming at him) and he has started having double vision. The dr. explained Jordan's eye muscles are weak and thinks his medication (Ditropan for neurogenic bladder and Neurotin 600mg TID) may be the cause for this.
