Avatar n tn My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment.

Avatar f tn Also, see if there is a birth center near you. I know our local BC has options for families with no insurance. The total out of pocket to deliver there and be seen throughout the pregnancy is about $4500 compared to 3x that amount about the hospital.
Avatar n tn m having to juggle through insurance plans with different jobs, because it seems like private insurance is untouchable for me. Any help or advice would help.
1365830 tn?1277997291 You should check with your local department of social services. Most states have a program specifically for pregnancy. Many of those programs can be used to supplement your private health insurance. I have private health insurance that is actually pretty decent as far as covereage but becuase we hadn't met the deductible for the year when i found out I was pregnant it would have been a lot of out of pocket cost so I applied for medicaid and it was approved.
Avatar f tn Were wanting to look into other insurance plans. Anyone else just pay outright for insurance? If so give me some tips for what we should look at! Im worried that with it being so bad when the baby is finally here they will not cover much of anything and im not just meaning labor delivery cost. Im thinking meds and check ups. Everything really.
Avatar f tn That means no copays, deductibles or coinsurance for people whose health insurance plans are covered by the new requirements. The Obama administration estimates that 41 million Americans will benefit initially, with the number projected to rise to 88 million by 2013. Many large company plans, which usually offer solid preventive benefits, will be exempt from the requirements for the time being.
Avatar n tn I was wondering if I lose my mothers medical insurance (Bluecross Blueshield of Iowa) if I don't go to college next year? My brother did but I was told I wouldn't because I'm considered a dependent. The reason why is because I became paralyzed in 11th grade. Do you believe this is true?
387294 tn?1207620185 For instance in CA, in addition to the major risk pool (www.mrmib.ca.gov), Insurance Carriers offer their 2 most popular plans to individuals who opt to exercise their HIPAA rights after they exhaust COBRA. Please note that these guaranteed issue plans cost more than their standard underwritten counterparts. In order to find the right plan/carrier for your son & daughter, you can consult a local broker in your area or go online. There are a number of websites like www.eHealthInsurance.

892497 tn?1241811065 t think the cheaper plans are worth it because the deductables are higher and their annual check ups are not covered as well as some serious conditions that are common to all breeds. Natually most people get those plans and that is where the insurance company makes their money.
1063764 tn?1272821064 I'm a 23 year old female without medical insurance. I need to see two different specialists, one of them a few times a year. But because I don't have insurance I can't afford to anymore. I have not been able to find an individual health care plan for myself that I can afford. I currently don't have a job, but as soon as I am employed medical insurance is one of the things I'll be getting. Can anyone guide me in a direction so I can find some health care plans that suit me?

Avatar f tn Yes you do, here in the UK we have the nhs so we don't have to pay, but other countries like US don't have nhs they have health insurance instead so, like with our car insurance, if u don't have insurance or ur insurance doesn't cover it then u have to pay
5946521 tn?1377153547 Now I am on Kaiser, so any visit to UCLA is off insurance. My Kaiser docs have lost interest and have no further plans to assist me. I am thinking of going off insurance to get another MRI, wondering if there are possibly now MS lesions that did not show up last year. In either case, I have to carefully think about spending that kind of money.
Avatar f tn If drug treatment is covered by your health insurance- can it be denied as a "pre-existing condition" if you were getting treatment and paying out of pocket before you got the insurance??? Anybody know? Someone told my son that because of ADA it cannot be denied. Anybody know?
1284791 tn?1271994267 As far as I know, IVF is offered only thorugh group insurance coverage. We delayed seeking fertility treatment in order to get our insurance worked out first. My husband and I formed our own husband/wife group (he owns his own business, I went to work for him, he pays employee taxes on me). Our accountant helpd us with the paperwork. After we set all of this up we applied for group coverage. We did this in order to get maternity coverage, which is otherwise unavailble in Texas.
927707 tn?1244133034 I live in New Jersey and my husband and I need affordable health insurance. He owns his own business and we are paying close to $900 dollars a month for doctor visits, hospital, prescriptions, laboratory, diagnostics etc. We currently have United Health Care/ Oxford. We did have Cobra when I left my job, but that was too expensive $1300.00/ month. With our Cobra we didn't need referrals, but with Oxford we need referrals. Our copay is $30.00 for doctor visits and $50.00 for specialist.
Avatar m tn I checked the Gilead website already, for help with the meds. What are your experiences with your insurance plans? I need to make a decision soon as to which plan to go with, Thank for sharing.....
290867 tn?1333569278 My company is changing insurance plans. Something I learned from our insurance agent is that if you currently have health ins. MOST ins companies will pick you up if you choose to go with them. We were worried about not being able to switch because of pre-existing conditions, but she said we don't have to worry about that.
