What kind of plan do you have I searched the blue shield for my state and the cheapest I could get was 500. A month I wonder if plans a different for each state..

An ophthalmologist is a medical doctor and should be covered under the medical portion of your insurance. To be sure, call the Customer Service number on the back of your card and they can tell you exactly which doctors are covered under your plan. If it were me, I would go see an ophthalmologist if you are having the similar symptoms to your optic neuritis, as before. Let us know how things go.

I am lucky enough to have the job I have. I work in a hospital, they offer us health insurance and if we choose to get seen here at the hospital for any reason, it is completely covered, what the insurance doesn't cover, the hospital takes care of the rest of it. So I just pay about $40/month for health insurance and everything else is taken care of. I am blessed.

They did that for me since I have no insurance, and my medication costs about 1/4 of what I would normally pay. Ask your local pharmacies if they offer any programs like that; I think a lot of them do at this point because so many people are uninsured.

If drug treatment is covered by your health insurance- can it be denied as a "pre-existing condition" if you were getting treatment and paying out of pocket before you got the insurance??? Anybody know? Someone told my son that because of ADA it cannot be denied. Anybody know?

P.S. if you do live in a country like America and you don't have health insurance, that is OKAY because in the end, the car insurance of the person who hit you, that insurance plan will pay... not you. But, YOU need to go to the doctor first to get a report saying that you were in an accident and you are in pain and still are in pain. A doctor must be the one to fill out this report. And you must file this report with your local authorities ASAP.

Hello! So I got a new job and didn't sign up for the vision plan because I have plenty of contacts, so decided to sign up during enrollment in January, but I did sign up for Medica health insurance. Now I have a growth in the corner of my eye. Not on the eyeball but in the way corner next to the nose. It is red, doesn't hurt or itch, is just super annoying because it touches by eye sometimes and feels like some eye boogers and I constantly want to rub it away.

I am losing my Cobra plan benefits in a few month. I paid for this plan since I left my job in May of 2007 because it is a good plan and voers for all monitoring and ultrasounds. In Oct. I will have to be moved onto my husband's plan with is an HMO, Keystone East plan and it covers maternity but no fertility doctor visits at all. The man from the insurance company said that there is no individual plan that would cover fertily. It can get very expensive.

In America we still have the freedom to make choices about our doctors and second opinions etc. The cost of our Insurance is outrageous I agree but I want my freedom to chose and have access to treatment ASAP. My families health Insurance for 4 is $1500 a month...Crazy but doctors charges are so high from insurace that covers them from malpractice and then we have so many people in the country that have no insurance or the government covers them that someone has to pay and it us.

I'm not sure who you think you're kidding... I've seen some of the lower priced policies with thousands of dollars of deductibles before the insurance pays $1... I'm not broke by any means, nor am I rich, but let me assure you that a major medical issue would send my family into bankruptcy if we had any of those high deductible policies.

Now days the benefits are not all that at most places. You might get a plan that covers seventy percent of not much of a plan. So I can understand why people are going private, but private only works if your healthy as far as affordability as well.

If you're in America, many insurance plans now will give you a breast pump for free. I'd advise you to call your insurance company first. If they won't provide it, you may be able to find one second-hand in your area through a yard sale page or craigslist (or a similar classified ads service).
