1532707 tn?1312155924 An ophthalmologist is a medical doctor and should be covered under the medical portion of your insurance. To be sure, call the Customer Service number on the back of your card and they can tell you exactly which doctors are covered under your plan. If it were me, I would go see an ophthalmologist if you are having the similar symptoms to your optic neuritis, as before. Let us know how things go.
11140311 tn?1427813351 I am lucky enough to have the job I have. I work in a hospital, they offer us health insurance and if we choose to get seen here at the hospital for any reason, it is completely covered, what the insurance doesn't cover, the hospital takes care of the rest of it. So I just pay about $40/month for health insurance and everything else is taken care of. I am blessed.
Avatar m tn That is Gods plan. The government plan is let me provide for you, so I can tell you where to live, the kind of healthcare you will be entitled to..... I realize this is not a popular idea in todays society, but I do not want the government providing for me, because I will not be a governmental slave. Bet I just won a bunch of friends...
1260255 tn?1288654564 I have a consultation scheduled with the ophthalmologist on September 20, after having done more research and talking to my health insurance company. I plan on having the laser iridotomies done and insurance will cover all but the copay, with this being done as an in office procedure. Thank you for your professional advice, which was consistent with everything else I had learned.
693413 tn?1233732272 They did that for me since I have no insurance, and my medication costs about 1/4 of what I would normally pay. Ask your local pharmacies if they offer any programs like that; I think a lot of them do at this point because so many people are uninsured.
Avatar n tn What type of health insurance is available to a Canadian wanting bow leg correction surgery with Dr. Dror Paley in MD or Dr. J. Dean Cole in FL? Are there any specific international medical insurance carrier(s) that you recommend? Has anyone successfully done this through B.C.’s MSP? Thank you.
Avatar f tn If drug treatment is covered by your health insurance- can it be denied as a "pre-existing condition" if you were getting treatment and paying out of pocket before you got the insurance??? Anybody know? Someone told my son that because of ADA it cannot be denied. Anybody know?
Avatar m tn is his vision post lasik as good as currently using the contacts. or is there some vision loss, offset by the conveniene of not contacts/glasses.
Avatar f tn In particular, the same plan has to be available to all employees, regardless of the size of their paycheck or the state of their health. This system does a fairly effective job of protecting those it reaches, but it leaves many Americans out in the cold. Workers whose employers don’t offer coverage are forced to seek individual health insurance, often in vain. For one thing, insurance companies offering “nongroup” coverage generally refuse to cover anyone with a pre-existing medical condition.
774733 tn?1235432830 P.S. if you do live in a country like America and you don't have health insurance, that is OKAY because in the end, the car insurance of the person who hit you, that insurance plan will pay... not you. But, YOU need to go to the doctor first to get a report saying that you were in an accident and you are in pain and still are in pain. A doctor must be the one to fill out this report. And you must file this report with your local authorities ASAP.
Avatar f tn Hello! So I got a new job and didn't sign up for the vision plan because I have plenty of contacts, so decided to sign up during enrollment in January, but I did sign up for Medica health insurance. Now I have a growth in the corner of my eye. Not on the eyeball but in the way corner next to the nose. It is red, doesn't hurt or itch, is just super annoying because it touches by eye sometimes and feels like some eye boogers and I constantly want to rub it away.
763297 tn?1281379425 I am losing my Cobra plan benefits in a few month. I paid for this plan since I left my job in May of 2007 because it is a good plan and voers for all monitoring and ultrasounds. In Oct. I will have to be moved onto my husband's plan with is an HMO, Keystone East plan and it covers maternity but no fertility doctor visits at all. The man from the insurance company said that there is no individual plan that would cover fertily. It can get very expensive.
175734 tn?1225134440 In America we still have the freedom to make choices about our doctors and second opinions etc. The cost of our Insurance is outrageous I agree but I want my freedom to chose and have access to treatment ASAP. My families health Insurance for 4 is $1500 a month...Crazy but doctors charges are so high from insurace that covers them from malpractice and then we have so many people in the country that have no insurance or the government covers them that someone has to pay and it us.
206807 tn?1331936184 I'm not sure who you think you're kidding... I've seen some of the lower priced policies with thousands of dollars of deductibles before the insurance pays $1... I'm not broke by any means, nor am I rich, but let me assure you that a major medical issue would send my family into bankruptcy if we had any of those high deductible policies.
Avatar f tn so I just found out today that my insurance was canceled and had to pay out of pocket for my doctors appointment. My insurance company said that they had sent me papers in the mail and I never got them I've lived at the same address over 6 years. I love in a apartment complex btw. I wrote a email and now they said I make too much money in my household. I live with my boyfriend who is jobless and I had to take leave from work because I'm a high risk pregnancy.
Avatar f tn m a little under 5 weeks. Could I possibly pay out of pocket or get insurance that covers it for the time being? Or should I just be patient?
2063887 tn?1337829746 I finally figured out that the Copaxone was causing me to have severe migraines so we had to change our plan of action. They wanted me to decide which way to go, but sort of led the discussion towards Tysabri. My original neurologist wanted to start with that as well, but after appealing to the insurance several times they wouldn't approve it. This doctor actually took the time to talk and write down facts about my situation to back up the need.
Avatar f tn The American Academy of Ophthalmology has for years run “Eye Care for America” in which free care is provided. Contact them to learn more. Many people can finance their medical care with what they spend on alcohol, tobacco, gambling and fancy clothes and vacations. 75% of the people in the United States that don’t have insurance CAN afford it but choose not to get it gambling they won’t get sick or injured. That’s never a good bet.
Avatar m tn This is a discount plan, not dental insurance. Unfortunately many dentists choose not to participate in it.
1530342 tn?1405016490 Now days the benefits are not all that at most places. You might get a plan that covers seventy percent of not much of a plan. So I can understand why people are going private, but private only works if your healthy as far as affordability as well.
Avatar f tn For those of you who have regular insurance, what type of payment plan did your doc put you on??

Avatar f tn If you're in America, many insurance plans now will give you a breast pump for free. I'd advise you to call your insurance company first. If they won't provide it, you may be able to find one second-hand in your area through a yard sale page or craigslist (or a similar classified ads service).
