290867 tn?1333569278 You can also purchase policies through outside insurance carriers. In Massachusetts it just went into effect that every resident HAS to have health insurance or you lose your tax exemption. Fortunately I have very good insurance at my job as does my husband but if we didn't, we would have to go the other route. I have seen some companies adverstising as little as 150 a month to get a tailor made policy to suit your needs. I would search the internet and look into it to see what you can find.
Avatar n tn sorry if this is irrelevant but ive read test results saying that canabis was shown to help night vision so if you live in Massachusetts question 2 passing might be more helpful than exspected. Sorry I couldnt be more help.
Avatar f tn @Starzabove9 I live in Massachusetts and my insurance is MassHealth...
Avatar f tn Once we depleted our 24k, DH and I purchased secondary insurance. I live in Massachusetts and it is also the law to cover IVF. This has allowed us to continue with our IVF treatments, which has been a blessing! You should talk to your clinic and ask them which insurance works the best for the clinic and go purchase it, again, as a secondary insurance. We plan on dropping the secondary plan when we become pregnant, God willing! Good luck!
Avatar f tn It did allow me some coverage towards IVF, with a lifetime cap, but once I maxed that, DH and I had to purchase secondary insurance, which was out of Massachusetts and allows up to 6 covered IVF cycles. If your state is mandated to cover IVF like YvetteY mentioned, then you should work with your financial coordinator at the clinic you go to and see which insurance they recommend you purchase (as your secondary insurance) so that you have coverage. Hope this helps and Good Luck!
Avatar f tn rights in two separate challenges to the Defense of Marriage Act, known as DOMA, a 1996 law that the Obama administration has argued for repealing. The rulings apply to Massachusetts but could have broader implications if they're upheld on appeal. The state had argued the law denied benefits such as Medicaid to gay married couples in Massachusetts, where same-sex unions have been legal since 2004.
Avatar n tn My friend's wife called me yesterday in tears. Her husband (my friend of 20+ years) has had issues with cocaine and alcohol on and off for as long as I've known him. But apparently it's gotten really bad recently.
Avatar f tn You may only gain count fingers to 20/400 vision at best after all you have been through. Your retina and basically all the systems of the eye seem to have taken a hit from the severe problems you have been through. Please post again if you have more questions. Basically this rpe granularity issue is probable one of about 10 issues your eye has going on. Sorry for all your suffering.
Avatar f tn It’s only in my right eye and I have been diagnosed with an epiretinal membrane in that same eye. I recently went to Massachusetts for a week and the strobe effect didn’t happen in my vision the entire time I was there. Now that I’m back in Colorado it’s started again. Are there environmental factors that can make this worse? Things I should look for in my house? Could it be the higher altitude?
4332997 tn?1358728615 Ask your obgyn dr, she should know some good pediatricians.
Avatar m tn My distance acuity is 20/15 in one eye and 20/20+ in my eye with a history of retinal disease. (Yes, my distance vision is great!) But everything within arm's length is blurry. I need glasses for using the computer, cooking, and all near vision tasks. (I can read some restaurant menus in good light without glasses, but I have to squint.) In the Community Eye Care Forum, Dr.
642191 tn?1226784192 We were under the impression that we had 6 IVF cycles covered under our supplemental Massachusetts insurance plan we had purchased, in addition to the 4 we did with an out of state insurance plan (my current employers plan). We have only used 2 cycles with our new insurance, but they counted the 4 we did previously and they denied our 7th cycle. I guess 6 is the cut off, no matter what insurance you’ve had or where you may have lived.
Avatar f tn The quote unquote assault weapons bill, or excuse me the quote unquote assault weapons ban, was already law in Massachusetts. It was already permanent in Massachusetts. This bill actually provided some relief to gun owners in the state of Massachusetts. It was portrayed and it has been portrayed in the media as Governor Romney signed a bill to ban quote unquote assault weapons in the state of Massachusetts. But that's not the case.
Avatar f tn Also, when you call your insurance company, ask them if Massachusetts is governed by the parity law. If they are a parity state, this will offer much greater coverage for your daughter. Avatar n tn I havent gotten my period since July, which really isn't too strange for me as my cycle has always been a bit off. Not to mention that I've been super stressed out over the past few months and I haven't been eating well so that's what I've chalked it up to... but I'm starting to get nervous because I'm putting weight on and I'm not sure if it's because I'm eating more or if it's because I'm pregnant.
Avatar f tn The thing is though in Massachusetts once you get insurance any bill that wasnt covered and paid , they pay it so why is it such a big deal
Avatar f tn Gruber was a key architect of the sweeping health insurance reform legislation that Romney passed as governor of Massachusetts. In addition, he advised Democrats and the Obama administration on how to build the Affordable Care Act. As that 18-month process unfolded, Gruber famously unloaded on Romney for his attacks on Obamacare, arguing that the two were the "same ******* bill." Those similarities, he said on Friday, extend to the individual mandate.
Avatar f tn Some insurance companies will cover a car seat. I live in Massachusetts, but I heard that companies in other states do the same sometimes too. It's worth it to find out bc they may pay for a brand new one!
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with myopic degeneration and receive the intraocular injection which is very effective. My insurance carrier will not cover the cost of the injection (medicine and surgery). If I had a diagnosis of macular degeneration it would be fully covered. I am looking for suggestions as to how to make my case with the insurance carrier that this is not a one time event but a chronic condition that if not treated would result in a loss of vision.
1310633 tn?1430224091 (Reuters) - Voter support for President Barack Obama's healthcare overhaul has increased following the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling upholding it, although majorities still oppose it, a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Sunday showed. Among all registered voters, support for the law rose to 48 percent in the online survey conducted after Thursday's ruling, up from 43 percent before the court decision. Opposition slipped to 52 percent from 57 percent.
Avatar f tn But I wouldn’t take what we did in Massachusetts and say to Texas, “You’ve got to take the Massachusetts model.” Apparently, Mitt Romney is not keeping tabs on the situation that changed in Massachusetts due to Romney Care. According to Dr. Somava Stout: “We’ve seen patients come in and get screened for colorectal cancer, gets lots of people diagnosed with polyps before they became cancer,” Stout said.
Avatar f tn My employer here in the state of Massachusetts offers health insurance as part of the benefits package. They pick up 75% while I pick up the remaining 25%. My share costs me $65 (US) per week. That's $1126 per month to insure my wife and me. Family policies are even more. Our state demands everyone has health insurance, Massachusetts offers a policy referred to as MassHealth that an individual can purchase at a reasonable cost.
Avatar f tn Surgeons put the Implantable Miniature Telescope in one eye, allowing the person to improve central vision for tasks like reading, watching TV and recognizing faces. Doctors leave the other eye alone to provide peripheral vision. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504763_162-20009834-10391704.html?tag=latest The trick here is that the brain must fuse the two different views into a single image.
Avatar n tn My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present.
