Avatar n tn I am suffering from Keratoconus since last 1.5 years. I was using RGP lens to start with although before that I did visit a lot of Ophthalmologist all of who was unable to detect as the disease been on early stage. Anyway when it was diagnosed finally, my doc prescribed RGP lens, which I stopped using after 1.5 month. The reason been, my ears turned to be itchy after I remove the lens daily. Avatar f tn Thank you for your reply. Yes I do wear glasses I also have prism lenses to help with my binocular vision. I have researched keratoconus and I think this a real possibility. I've also asked my doctor about this, but he saw no evidence of this. Would the symptoms of keratoconus come on quite suddenly. I just woke up one morning and noticed it, it happened round about the same time my binocular double vision started. Could dry eye cause this ghosting?

Avatar f tn I would definitely ask your doctor about Keratoconus and triple treatment. I have not read anything that documents vision problems and Incivek but I have read a few posts related to vision & Incivek and had a rather unusual experience with it myself. In my case my contact lens rx basically changed to -7.25 for ten weeks of treating on Incivek and changed back to -6.0 two days after I stopped the Incivek. It was weird but nothing major or freaky.
533880 tn?1237612452 He could have corneal scarring due to a previous infection or injury, or an inherited condition like Fuch's corneal dystrophy or keratoconus. If he has quite a bit of astigmatism and no history of eye infection or injury in the past, I wonder if he might have keratoconus? Sorry, but you have not given me enough information.
Avatar f tn My son is 32 years old and has had his corneas transplanted on both eyes due to keratoconus. At first, his vision was greatly improved but it has progressively deteriorated as time goes on. He claims his vision is back to the way it was before the surgery. what is the reason for this and is there a new treatment to deal with this kind of patients?

Avatar n tn Recently my left eye has appeared to have a white reflex(leukocoria) when the other is red. I have been referred to a specialist by an optician who thinks I may have keratoconus. Looking online I can't find any pages which lists white pupil reflex as a symptom of this. Should I be worried about other conditions? Has anyone had similar problems?
Avatar m tn Keratoconus is a weakening of the collagen of the cornea. Marfan's is a disorder of connective tissues. There has not been a formalized study to determine if there is a link between the two conditions. Interesting, was my son has keratoconus and was treated by Dr. Brian Boxer Wachler in Los Angeles, CA. While we were at the office we met a young man who had Marfan's and keratoconus. His story was featured on Today Show, but the did not discuss the Marfan's.
Avatar m tn I believe seroquel caused my eye problems. My vision kept getting worse and worse on seroquel and i just found out i have a serious eye disease called KERATOCONUS. It is suppose to be genetic but no one in my family has this. So it has to be the seroquel. If anyone has eye problems on seroquel make sure you go to a cornea specialist and get checked fo KERATOCONUS. You could also give me a call at 8154822704.

277836 tn?1359666174 The only other thing I would make sure they have ruled out is Keratoconus. Sometimes patients with Keratoconus get "ghost images". I do not think it is a tumor.
Avatar m tn I have been implanted two multifocal iol, I have keratoconus and after 7 months of unbearable glare, halos and dreadful vision, my surgeon is going to exchange the lens for a monofocal or a toric iol. Which lens is better for keratoconus patients?
Avatar m tn t equalise my mask and ended up with a case of mask squeeze (Subconjunctival hemorrhage) in both eyes. The sclera cleared up after about 2 wks and my vision feels like it is back to normal. However, as I do suffer from Keratoconus, I'm concerned that I may have done further damage to my corneas - both of which had been stabilised prior to the dive with crosslinking, plus a corneal ring inserted in one of the eyes.
Avatar f tn Yes, it's possible! Last year this happened to me (my vision in my right eye started appearing blurry almost overnight at one point and I didn't know what was wrong). I went back to the eye doctor and they diagnosed it as a condition called keratoconus (would fall in the corneal disease category mentioned by the MD above me). I don't say this to worry you because that was my unique circumstance, but it could be a number of things so you should go back and get it checked out.
Avatar n tn Currently I have high myopia with astigmatism in left eye (R -8.75 L -8.25 astigmatism -1.5). 1.5 year ago my vision was R -7.25 L -7.75 astigmatism -0.5. I suppose this progression is due to inappropriate glasses that I am wearing ( lenses are -6.5 for both eyes). Cornea thickness is 566-574. I am planning to do laser correction. After the check-up at the eye clinic I was told that I can do any type of laser correction. My questions are: 1. Is my myopia still progressing?
Avatar n tn I Happened to visit an general eye checkup and was asked to undergo a pentacam test for "keratoconus". I was told that i have keratoconus on both the eyes. The right eye condition is severe when compared to the left eye. Since i am 40 years. I was told that there is nothing to worry as keratoconus condition does not worsen after a certain age. The doctor told me that after 6 months/1 year we can test again and then decide what to do.
