Avatar f tn I'm from Indiana & my husband makes too much for us to qualify for Medicaid, yet his workplace doesn't offer insurance to his dependents. Luckily, I had insurance through dad, but my baby wasn't able to get any insurance at all so we got a big bill from the hospital for him. They hospital had us take out a loan from the bank to pay it. It definitely stinks! You should definitely get prenatal care because you never know what could go wrong like in my case I had pre-eclampsia.
1209036 tn?1299178657 It's government funded medical insurance for those who aren't offered or can't afford medical insurance either privately or through their employer. We don't, as of yet, have universal healthcare. You have to provide your own healthcare insurance. If you are at or below certain income thresholds you can qualify for Medicaid through your particular state. If you qualify they pay most if not all of your medical expenses.

Avatar f tn Just recently moved back to Georgia from Florida and have been trying to get my insurance switched back. Finally got it switched back last week and signed medical release form on Friday. They faced it to Florida on Monday and now Florida Obgyn is saying it could take 14 days to get the medical records faxed. I'm stressing because I haven't seen a doctor since about 3 weeks ago.

10822903 tn?1418443032 I went to the ER about 2 months ago. I thought I had kidney stones or a bad Apendix. I was having excruciating lower right abdomen pain. I found out I had an ovarian cyst. It was/is 4.4cm. Said it would go away on its on and to follow up with my Obygn. They gave me a prescription for some Percs which I never took. I couldn't afford them at the time bc I currently don't have health insurance. I've been popping Ib Profen like crazy and using heating pads. That helps.

Avatar f tn The pressure in her eye is through the roof, and her vision was beginning to suffer. She was also told that there is a great possibility that she would lose her sight entirely. Her eye Dr. prescribed her drops (still waiting on list from her), which she was using as directed. Her vision improved slightly, however when she went for a check-up two days ago, she was told that the drops were eating away at her cornea, that she must stop them immediately.
290018 tn?1240365868 They only cover a certain percentage depending on your coverage selections. My health insurance pays for EVERYTHING except for $150 copay but I have excellent health insurance. My guess is if you have United, you will probably acrrue a similar hospital bill but your best bet would be to call United directly.

Avatar f tn Just found out my primary care doc can no longer write my methadone for chronic pain. He says it's not just him, it's ALL primary/GP and he's referring all pain med patients to the clinics. Problem is I don't have insurance and simply can't afford it!! Another thing I'm finding out is even if I could afford it...well the few I called are saying they won't write methadone. I don't know what to do but I don't wanna live in chronic pain.
Avatar n tn I am 4 weeks along and I am currently transitioning from living in Georgia to California. I am not moving until the middle of january and I will be 11 weeks by then. I don't know to have my first appt here (complete with all the tests and pap) just to change doctors in a couple of weeks. Is there anything wrong about waiting until 11 weeks to have my first appointment?
5932930 tn?1394643253 Thank goodness I had both my little boys in Georgia and the Georgia medicaid paid for their circumcision

Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with myopic degeneration and receive the intraocular injection which is very effective. My insurance carrier will not cover the cost of the injection (medicine and surgery). If I had a diagnosis of macular degeneration it would be fully covered. I am looking for suggestions as to how to make my case with the insurance carrier that this is not a one time event but a chronic condition that if not treated would result in a loss of vision.
