insurance

1412618 tn?1281730072 Medicaid is generally for low income families and the disabled. I'm not sure you qualify just because you can't find work. Medicaid is very straightforward as to who qualifies. Google MEDICAID and it will pull up all types of info including the rules in your state. I don't think there is free insurance for full time students, but again google it and you might find something. Goodluck...
Avatar n tn I was wondering if I lose my mothers medical insurance (Bluecross Blueshield of Iowa) if I don't go to college next year? My brother did but I was told I wouldn't because I'm considered a dependent. The reason why is because I became paralyzed in 11th grade. Do you believe this is true?
635833 tn?1277270192 that website didnt come up wiht anything in its search engine for Neuro-Opthomologists, and it looks more like something for Students or professionals who work in the feild of Opthamology......
1282384 tn?1271431332 m wondering how bad will my vision get and are there any options for me to get the surgery done without insurance...like payment plans or something?
233488 tn?1310693103 If both of your eyes need implants, you will probably want both set at the same focal point for stereo vision for your photography, probably at plano. Implanting Crystalens is trickier than the other IOL's, so you need a Dr. that has had a lot of success implanting it.

521840 tn?1348840771 Unfortunately, many psychologists can no longer afford to participate with insurance companies or Medicaid/Medicare. The reasons for this include low reimbursement rates, frequency of denied payment for services, and the burden of insurance related paperwork. While the situation is problematic, there is no reason to assume that you can not get the care you need. On the bright side, if you can take the time and energy to search, you have a good chance of finding someone who can help.
Avatar f tn Ultrasound tech schools give pregnant women FREE ultrasounds!! Its so the students can practice. No insurance required. All free.
352007 tn?1372857881 I am sure as the sun rises in the east and settles in the west that at least one of you have dealt with your insurance companies giving an authorization for a MRI with and without contrast. Im in a rush for time because it is now Monday and still no authorization from insurance company for my Thursday appt. of MRI. I have an appointment on Feb 13th for brain MRI with and without contrast. The secretary just called me to tell me that my insurance feels I do not need the contrast.
Avatar n tn give parents hard times when the child did not have a 504 till just before it was time for the PSATS. The school would not make accommodations for PSATS, when the kid never had one and now the family fighting for the accommodations http://www.health.state.ny.us/nysdoh/consumer/diabetes/resource/schools.pdf Also check out www.childrenwithdiabetes.
Avatar n tn I worked extensively with International Students at my last position for may years. I know the challenges you face when coming to our country especially with health care. Have you contacted your sponsoring agency? Not the one that employees you but the agency that helped you to come to the USA? They should be able to assist you in any health related issues. Also see your employer's Human Resource Department. They should be your advocate.
Avatar n tn It is possible that the ophthalmologist understood your comment "Must be able to see my students" to mean that you should have clear vision for intermediate range, NOT near / reading range which is what you normally get with -2.25. If these were my eyes I would not have a piggy back lens put in. Your high nearsightedness is already a risk factor for complications after cataract surgery and you have gotten through the first round OK, so I wouldn't push my luck.
Avatar f tn My retina specialist recently submitted my medical records and I am pleased to report that my insurance has reviewed my records and will be paying most of the cost for the treatment. Thanks for your response and I encourage others to have their physicians appeal the payment for this treatment.
Avatar f tn Many studies have shown that vision therapy doesn't work for myopia reduction. It would be a total waste of your money and your child's time.
Avatar n tn Prices range from around $340(for hospital only plan)-$1995(for a more comprehensive HMO) per month for a couple. Couple of ways you can get better rates; 1) If one of you is Sole Proprietor business owner, 2) If you apply & enroll separately. I recommend you to consult a licensed agent that represents companies like GHI or Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield. You can either find a local licensed agent or find a “licensed” online agency (like the one I work for; www.eHealthInsurance.com ).

Avatar m tn Insurance cost us so much each month, we could not pay for our own dental needs and went years without a dental check-up. My teeth had no issues, so I continued to go about my life and now that I am on Medicare, I can once again afford dental visits. My first visit the dentist told me I have severe bone loss and they want to remove all my teeth and add bone grafts from a cadaver to my jaw line and fit me with dentures. This is totally shocking, as I have no issues with my teeth at all.
Avatar m tn ) I actually was told by a doctor at a larger hospital eye center ( after I called reporting pain and blurry vision ) that emergency appointments are for serious injury and they are not alloted time for diagnosing and treating regular conditions . Fired them !!! I guess we just don't live in a perfect world and must just do the best we can to overcome.
1260255 tn?1288654564 I believe that this is what prompted my opthalmologist to focus on other causes for my vision problems and discuss them with me during my last visit. My question has to do with laser treatment as a preventative measure. Would you recommend that this be done or wait to see if an acute attack presents itself? My instinct is to pursue prevention rather than wait for an attack that could leave me blind if I am not able to get prompt medical care.
Avatar f tn Monofocal IOLs can be set for "blended vision," leaving one eye a little nearsighted. With this type of correction, you would not need glasses for distance or intermediate vision tasks (e.g., computer). You'd probably only need readers for seeing small print. Seeing the dashboard gauges wouldn't be a problem at all. Of the three "premium" lenses, my first choice would definitely be the Crystalens HD.

Avatar f tn I met the gyn/onc recommended to me by my obgyn and did not feel comfortable from the time I walked into the office. I brought all my films, ultrasounds, reports and pelvic MRI films with me and they did not even look at them. Instead they decided they were going to do another ultrasound. Why would you need another ultrasound when you have an MRI that was only 5 days old?
Avatar f tn Also, see if there is a birth center near you. I know our local BC has options for families with no insurance. The total out of pocket to deliver there and be seen throughout the pregnancy is about $4500 compared to 3x that amount about the hospital.
Avatar n tn Well, you've come to the right place if you don't want a sales pitch for a "premium" lens. Dr. Hagan has stated several times on this forum that he would not want a multifocal/accommodating IOL in his own eye--and he has inside information about how these lenses actually perform.
587437 tn?1219893624 I have neck and back problems and recently been diagnosed with spondalysis then my insurance ran out and the dr. never got to go over my MRI with me and explain anything. Can you help me?
Avatar n tn Have you ever had your son checked for vision problems. My daughter has recently been diagnosed with convergence insuffienciency. She has had difficulty keeping up with other students especially when reading is required. She was tested last year by an opthomologist and was found to have near perfect vision. I had a niece who was diagnosed with this same thing and she has gone through therapy and has made major improvements.
