906843 tn?1245208894 I am a retired army NCO, I looked around for a while and was really tired of seeing so many doctors come and go as family docs. We had a very fine doctor and he went to Korea, I also had a excellent doc that did my rotor culp surgery twice, it was not his fault for the second one as I slipt and fell on the ice and tore it up agian a month or so after the 1st surgery. Other than that the docs were not so good. Most were very very poor and it was very frustrating for my family.
1360237 tn?1351816181 Thanks for your help. Was the IVF and what you had to pay for expensive? Did it work for you? So did they cover all your apt visits with that dr to or just one?
Avatar n tn I have 20/20 vision and I cannot pass the OVT(lolli pop) military depth perception test. I want to become a flyer and cannot because of this. The doc said i had estropia in my right eye which throws off my depth perception. She told me this problem with no solution. I need to know if there is anything i could possibly do. I heard of vision therapy but it is pricey and not covered by military insurance.
Avatar f tn Did u try getting Medicaid but putting the military option? I have friends who had babies while in The military guys & girls and they get discounts for the insurance but it depends which insurance u choose.
Avatar f tn I know everything about it when it comes to me and my body. I recently started dating a guy who is retired military. When asked, I told him about this. He said that his primary care physician told him that he would lose his medical insurance if he had sex with someone who had a pre existing condition. With HSV as common as it is, can this be true?

The provision in the spending bill blocking an enrollment fee had widespread support among Republicans and Democrats, according to congressional aides. The Pentagon, nonetheless, is expected to ask again in the 2014 budget for an enrollment fee.
Avatar f tn Anyway, I live in Hawaii (Oahu) and my husband is Air Force, so we have insurance and I have been seeing a Neuro at the military hospital here for almost 6 months now for occipital neuralgia, right leg weakness, and carpel tunnel in both wrists (had emg). My question is about wanting to get another opinion on various things, and trying to find a Neuro here on the island.
Avatar n tn My GP talked me out of going private, although I am a retired Fed with Care First (Blue Cross) Health insurance. Additionally, I have very limited central vision, although peripheral vision seems to be ok. There is no discernible inflammation/redness of the eye. The removal was done with anesthetic drops following dilation. Ultrasound was used to break up the cataract. I was on drops for three weeks, later put on anti-inflammatory drops, which the surgeon (see below) later ordered me to stop.

Avatar f tn Once her medical waiver went through for a rare eye condition that has no effect on vision, she left for basic within 3 weeks. Basic Training for Army is 8-9 weeks and then AIT training s 15-18 weeks depending on what MOS he goes in to. Its a little shorter for Air Force and I believe a little longer for the Marines. I haven't any idea what training times are for Navy. My sister completed her AIT training and was deployed to Seoul, Korea two weeks later for a full year.
516780 tn?1296516575 So far TRICARE has been great with everything--I could not ask for a better insurance company. I was afraid that things would get bad when my husband retired from the military but I have seen no changes in our coverage.
198419 tn?1360242356 Missing in Action is a Military term for exactly what it sounds like. Missing during the action of war. This term has been used almost as long as the Military has existed. By the way...I am a Navy Military Brat..that's the only reason I know what it means. It's frequently used today as a catch all term for "haven't seen you for a while.
655727 tn?1283296048 My husband is working as a civil servant after spending 22 years in the military. If it wasn't for his pay now combined with his retired military pay and the good health insurance we get from the military we'd be really hurting. As it is, he puts in long hours and probably does the work of about 3 people, so no, I don't think he gets overpaid. If anything, I think he probably could get more on the outside.
Avatar f tn I am currently in the military which means our insurance only pays for the blood work and ultrasounds for IVF treatment. We both want to try IVF and hope for the best but coming up with the money is tearing me apart. Does anyone know a financing plan that we could go to for this treatment. We defenitly do not have $15,000 saved and will do anything to try IVF. I am in need of advice, I know we will be able to afford payments on a loan but finding one is much harder than I expected.

Avatar m tn To be honest the local low vision center came up with some helpful solutions-but in my case a semi retired eye specialist with many years dealing with all sorts of conditions and problems was super for me. He looked at my eyes and said now this is gonna take some time so be patient. Well he spent a long long time going through vision at different angles and eye positions- different refraction ect ect-- to make a long story short- he did a super job and had a much better solution.
Avatar m tn Yes sir, was wondering if you might steer me in a direction. Being seen by Dr. Gardner of the Eye Guys in Augusta, GA whom I have come to respect very much. Now, 1 month ago I allowed the RESTOR lens to be placed in my left eye. I'm 52 and very, very early state cateract removed with attempts at getting my Lazy Eye(40yrs I was told) or Astigmatism fixed. I was 20/400 before the lens inplant and now am plano or just 1/2 diopter myopic as the doc planned for.

233616 tn?1312787196 My surgery was complicated as my portal vein was occluded and a new one had to be made for me. I was in surgery for 13hours. My donor was in surgery for 6. The total cost for both operations and our hospital stay, tests, etc. was 75K. Since my surgery, I've had 2 simple outpatient procedures and will probably need a third. The cost to the insurance companies for each is 12k. My three procedures will land up costing half of what I paid for the transplant.
1210493 tn?1527851309 t actually had a full physical since I was in the military which was when I was 19 or 12 years ago. I had a screening while pregnant for HIV and anything else they test you for, for life insurance and everything was fine at that time. I am freaking out much less since Friday...had a little time to read and digest the information, which is good. Friday I was feeling a little overwhelmed.

Avatar f tn I have no idea what doctor would take a patient with no insurance. We are ineligible for medical help through the state due to our incomes and we don't have insurance through work because it would be pointless to keep through October and then have to cancel it. Of course I won't wait til October to be seen, but what are my options??
