Avatar f tn I had just finished a 5 day course of intravenous steroids followed by a 12 day course of oral prednisone and was starting to see improvements in my bilateral blurry vision when I had a second flare-up and I lost nearly all my sight in both eyes. I am wondering if anyone has some emotional as well as visual coping strategies they could suggest?
572651 tn?1530999357 I have more than a $8000 deductable with the State Workers Plan which is the largest insurance pool in NC. I will easily fork out $10,000 in out of pocket for 2010 and my MS is not that bad. I forked out over $3000 for gallbladder surgery and expect another $1000 for MRIs and my biannual visit to the Neurologist which will take 15 minutes. The NCHRP is a great plan for a friend of mine who pays $1000 a month premium and has a $20,000 a year deductible to even see a doctor.
9884089 tn?1406756206 If you have private insurance you have to put baby in the policy but baby is covered under you for the first 30 days (unless you are on your parents insurance). I'd start the process of enrolling as soon as baby is born though because some companies can take weeks to get everything finalized.
Avatar f tn Hey I live in NC too when I went to DSS I was told that if you bring proof of your pregnancy and due date that women with child are always excepted. The only part that ***** is they have a full 45 business day to get back to you it take for ever I still have not got my letter yet. I also applied for food stamps I was awarded in February and didn't get my card until May. Even though it may take time i would give it a try.

763297 tn?1281379425 Thank you so much for your advice. I spoke with bcbs and they don't do it for individuals.
Avatar n tn I unfortunatley am in the situation of not having health insurance and living in the asheville nc area there isnt alot in the way of "free" healthcare much less anything to begin with. any help figuring this eye problem out would be GREATLY appreciated. for medical history i am a 22 year old male non diabetic (as far as i know) who had perfect vision my whole life.
Avatar f tn I really hate that this is happening to you. It's different from state to state. Usually across the board, prenatal care, delivery and postpartum care is part of a global fee. When I lived in NC, the money had to be paid by the 7th month. When I moved to Wisconsin, I found out that you can pay on the balance after it's all done and over with. Also, doctors won't refuse to see you. Anyway, I'd apply for Medicaid.
Avatar m tn the biggest thing I see Ive wondered continuously about is when are they going to acknowledge everyone as individuals and not drug addicts. I cant understand how difficult this can be. but maybe its just me seeing this?
Avatar f tn No NC Insurance Covers It Anymore! ***** But They Don't..
Avatar f tn I am just wanting to hear personal experiences with Dr Rosner, or other surgeons for this around the Charlotte, NC area. Thank you so much!
Avatar n tn The doc has mentioned sinus node ablation and/or pacemaker several times and I am afraid that is what they are going to want to do at Duke or UNC and I have read that ablations and pacemakers can make POTS patients worse. My insurance is called medcost and only covers doctors in NC or SC, it is a preferred provider network, so if I were to go to Vanderbilt or Mayo Clinic (FLA), I would likely have to pay out of pocket.
1251333 tn?1445218215 I have been having changing/increasing/more issues for a while but never felt like I was in a flare. Inasmuch as we can FEEL a flare. Now, after another MRI, I feel like I must just have a very active disease and I must just go from flare to flare. It's that even possible?! Anyway, I think I need to talk to my doctor about changing my Dx or doing something different.
Avatar f tn Post a Comment » Read All Comments (693) » State insurance regulators say they have approved rates for 2014 that are at least 50 percent lower on average than those currently available in New York. Beginning in October, individuals in New York City who now pay $1,000 a month or more for coverage will be able to shop for health insurance for as little as $308 monthly. With federal subsidies, the cost will be even lower.

Avatar n tn Im 7 weeks pregnant and my health insurance doesn't kick in until 3 months from now!! Is that too late to go in for a doctors visit?...and I dont think I will be approved for public assistance. Please help!
Avatar f tn Ok that makes sense, so even if I go to an eye doctor, the medical insurance covers it becuase the vision insurance is just specifically for vision problems right, as in glasses and contacts, not all eye related problems?
1282384 tn?1271431332 I'm 36 years old and had cataract surgery on my right eye over 6 years ago. Now my left eye is acting up and I do not have any insurance since I got laid off over a year ago and have not been able to find work. I'm concerned about driving since my vision is so distorted in sunlight. I'm wondering how bad will my vision get and are there any options for me to get the surgery done without insurance...like payment plans or something?
