Avatar n tn My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment.
Avatar f tn I think I found an answer to my question on the COBRA web site: "Pre-existing conditionsSome health insurance companies cut their costs by invoking something called a "pre-existing condition" clause. The notion of a pre-existing condition makes sense when you're talking about car insurance: your windshield was cracked before you bought your coverage, so you can't expect the insurance company to replace it once your policy is in force.
Avatar f tn I have health insurance because of my mom but it didn't cover all of my expenses so I also have pregnancy medicaid and they pay after the insurance after my baby comes I'll go back to my regular health insurance and my baby will me on medicaid
1191960 tn?1280074080 m on my third try of IUI, and I noticed that some of you are covered through your insurance. I was just wondering what insurance helps with the cost of treatments, as SAG does not. Thanks for any input!
Avatar f tn I'm 23, married and my parents insurance did cover the costs of my OB bills all I had to pay was the deductible and whatever out of pocket costs that they can make you pay for I think I paid around 3000 all together and the rest was covered but it may be different with different insurances
Avatar f tn In my province there is no coverage for an optometrist. I have personal extended health care insurance that pays for an optometrist exam once every 2 years. I have no idea why I am having a problem seeing an Opthamologist and I doubt my GP does either. I find my Right eye vision is just fine except when I walk into a very dark room.

1284791 tn?1271994267 As far as I know, IVF is offered only thorugh group insurance coverage. We delayed seeking fertility treatment in order to get our insurance worked out first. My husband and I formed our own husband/wife group (he owns his own business, I went to work for him, he pays employee taxes on me). Our accountant helpd us with the paperwork. After we set all of this up we applied for group coverage. We did this in order to get maternity coverage, which is otherwise unavailble in Texas.
Avatar f tn I have healrh, dental and vision insurance through work but I was still approved for Medicaid. It goes by income, not current coverage so that's expecially helpful if you're like me and are having a really hard time working because of fatigue and such. They will access or request your pay stubs to go off of what you are really making in a pay period.
Avatar f tn I read a few of you mentioning in other posts about 100% insurance coverage which sounds great. Based on the insurance I have right now, I pay Upto 3000 out of pocket for my entire pregnancy and after paying 3000 my insurance pays 90% of any additional expense after that. So my question is, which insurance covers 100% of pregnancy cost. Thank you.
443006 tn?1229201842 Has anyone had experience with Fibrospect test being denied insurance coverage? I have PERS Blue Cross and my insurance is refusing to cover the test, saying it was not medically necessary or appropriate. I am a G-2b and did not have a biopsy since I had planned on being treated regardless of stage of liver damage. I've been fighting with my insurance about this for six months. Any suggestions from anyone?

1530342 tn?1405016490 I get my health coverage at work and I'd like to keep my current plan. Will I be able to do that? How will my plan be affected by the health law? A: If you get insurance through your job, it is likely to stay that way. But, just as before the law was passed, your employer is not obligated to keep the current plan and may change premiums, deductibles, co-pays and network coverage. You may have seen some law-related changes already.

Avatar m tn It may be too late to try and continue coverage via COBRA since the insurance co. said your insurance ended 12/31, but you could look into it and see if there is any way to continue the coverage. http://cobrainsurance.com/COBRA_FAQ.htm#How long must COBRA continuation coverage be available to a qualified beneficiary? Others on the forum may know more about this type of situation than I do.
