viscous lidocaine for sore throat

For my UTI doctor prescribe me amoxicillin and for my sore lidocaine viscous. On saturday night i noticed that i have a sore around vagina area. The sore is circle shaped red and looks it is fill with puss. Today i woke up i found 5 new sores. Are they herpes. Im freaking out . Other thing i havent eaten since friday my mouth and teeth hurt so bad + my lymph nodes are extremely swollen.

I have read previous posts, but am wondering what medications would cause a false negative 4th gen test. Medication that I am concerned about is lidocaine viscous. My Doctor has told me several times that it would not and that I am conclusive non-reactive. But just checking.

Hi Growzer, I'm in Canada, too. Do you have access to a walk-in clinic? Most docs know about Magic Mouthwash. You can also make it yourself in a pinch: equal parts Mylanta, children's Benadryl and viscous lidocaine. The lidocaine can be purchased without a prescription (it's kept behind the counter). Keep in a clean bottle in the fridge, shake well before using as needed. This will tide you over until Tuesday.

Hi- nothing cures these things! Look for a mouthwash/spray containing Benzydamine hydrochloride. Most everything is a prescription and doesn't always help. Ask your pharmacist if he'll give you some viscous lidocaine to swish around. He may have other suggestions of new stuff I don't know about ... stick with bland foods and liquids; drink through a straw. I feel badly for you...

Approx. 12 yrs ago I was diagnosed with genital herpes, I have always been faithful to my husband and don't understand how this happened. My husband and I have had several discussions about this. We are wondering if He could have given HSV-2 to me. Twice between the time we met 19 yrs ago and the time I was diagnosed he had severe blister lesions in his throat and was wondering if perhaps he may have HSV-2 in his throat. At the time of the test, I was still taking viscous lidocaine for throat ulcers. Used two 100 ml bottles in four weeks, just started third bottle. I seem to either be having a gastroparesis flare or something else. greetings all, I have an extremely swollen lump under my left ear and behind my jaw that is excruciatingly painful and rather large, approx. the size of a quarter maybe a little bigger. I have had a lot of sinus congestion over the past several days and producing a lot of mucous,really thick viscous and slightly greenish-yellow. I had a very low-grade fever for a day or so (99.0-99.8) but none for the past few days since this lump showed up and has gotten large and very painful rather quickly.

Hi Sandy! My doctor also prescribed me the Lidocaine patch for my hip and lower back. (didn't have neck or upper back pain at that time) They only worked for about a day and they also wouldn't stick to my body but I just found out last week that I tore a ligament in my hip so that my be why they didn't work. I hope your dr.can find the right med that helps with your pain!

hey folks - i am on my 8th week of 24 week tx with pegasys & copegus - i have some of the normal sx but all of a sudden i have a very sore throat, roof of mouth and sore, raw tongue. my tongue seems to be very dry and it burns. i still have my tonsils and think i have gotten tonsilitis (sore throat & hard to swallow) this has been going on for a week now - any suggestions? anyone experience this before?

Thanks for the tips! It seems to have turned into just a really nasty cold at this point. The horrible "swallowing knives" throat seems to have gone away and been replaced by congestion, runny nose, headache, and all the other classic cold symptoms. I've never had a cold start out with such a horrible sore throat before!

Currently on 30MG Cymbalta to cope with the depression and 2% viscous lidocaine applied intranasally. I found a very dedicated ENT willing to think outside the box. He cut tissue connecting my nasal septum and middle turbinate and then brushed phenol on the middle turbinate. I thought I would get relief when he took the packing out but I didn't. The pain seems to be at the base of my sphenoid sinus, further up than the middle turbinate.

I have had a sore throat for a month now. I took azithromycin, the 5 days course, but it did not help. I had also taken clindamycin a week before due to also having a uti. I noticed that the sore throat cleared up a little while on clindamycin, but it returned. When I had gone to my doctor after two weeks of having a sore throat, she told me that she guesses that it is tonsillitis, but the test came back negative for an infection.

I went to see my doctor on day 5, tested negative for strep. He gave me some lidocaine oral rinse to numb the throat pain so I can get some sleep and some codeine based cough meds. But he said this is viral, I'd have to wait for it to run its course. Problem is with the trip coming up, I cannot afford to wait much longer. I'm also quite anemic. Sometimes I wonder if that's what's prolonging my illness.

for the past 16 days I have had an extremely sore throat. it started off mild enough. dr put me on amoxil for 7 days. finished it up, by the time I finished it, my throat was worse. then i was prescribed biaxin xl for 10 days, today is day number 10 and the past 2 days i have felt like i'm swallowing razor blades (no exaggeration) when i swallow drink or eat, it's so painful. tylenol and naproxen are no longer working.

It came on really quickly and the doctor has me on Prilosec and antacids after meals and at bedtime, and she just added viscous lidocaine solution to numb the esophagus. I'm eating a low acidic diet and combining my foods properly. Has anyone out there had this terrible thing and if so, any other suggestions?

I had the one under the tongue at the back of throat and thought I had a sore throatuntil others appeared in one cheek area. Used Biotene mouthwash 3-4 times a day and they started to clear up.. Also had lidocaine swish by prescription to paint on before eating. Didn't 'swish' in mouth because didn't want to bite myself with a numb tongue. It takes a few days for them to start to clear.

I agree with AnnieBrooke - you need to be seen by a different doctor! And preferably an ear, nose and throat doc! When you have a throat so sore that you can barely swallow, can't eat at all and have ulcers on your tonsils, SOMETHING definitely needs to be done! Did your doc even bother to do a strep test or anything? Strep throat can also cause ulcers in the throat and mouth and strep is definitely something that neeeds to be treated with antibiotics.

Which is usually colorless, although it has appeared in a viscous green from. And if this is realted in any way, I had a sore throat a few days ago, since then has alsmot completely gone away. I'm sorry that post was so long, but does anybody know what my condition might be?

t give time for the lidocaine to set in before he began the procedure. After the 3rd biopsy I told him we were going to have to stop the test because of the pain. At that point he told the nurse to give more lidocaine. After the 2nd shot it became bearable but he was still very rough in his technique Besides the bruising and soreness, I experienced ear pain yesterday and today my throat and esophagus feel strange. My gums feel as though I have flossed them vigorously in that they feel swollen.

No test for mono, just swollen lymph nodes and tonsils. I had a big scare it was form hiv but im negative on that thankgod. If its mono, then what do i do? does it go away on its own.

I just had one on Monday and it was not bad at all. I had no lidocaine, and I barely felt the needle poke for the biopsy. It was done by a surgical oncologist, and the whole thing took about 10 minutes. He held the US in one hand, the needle in the other- and was done very quickly. I am a dentist wimp ( seriously). I would take another FNA over the dentist anyday. I'm so sorry you had a bad experinece. Hope your next one is easy for you!

i have been experiening tight throat for the past week. I suffer form generalized anxiety from time to time. I took a benedryl thinking it might be alergies but after i eat it tends to get worse.
