viread

Avatar n tn Hello everyone it’s been a while since I am here, currently 33 year old male in Los Angeles . Carrying hepatitis b since I was a kid I have taken viread since 2011 when my ast alt in raised to 500 and300 range, switched to vemlidy within few months after it got fda approved in 2017. I am still taking vemlidy, Side effect My kidney egfr in 2011 was 92, last 3 reports lab report is Egfr Was 78, 77, 77 creatine 1.
Avatar m tn I just started taking Viread but I'm worried about my creatinine levels, since my doctor wasn't clear on this. My Creatinine is at H 1.54 mg/dL and EGFR L 54, should I be taking 1 pill each 48 hours as suggested by the FDA or 1 pill each 24 hours?
Avatar f tn My husband is currently taking Viread for HepB and his doctor told us that there is a 5-6% chance of birth defects if I become pregnant. Has anyone heard this before? I see that women who are the ones taking the med take it while pregnant so I'm a bit confused/hopeful.

Avatar f tn ContraVir reports data shows CMX157 more potent against HBV than Gilead Viread ContraVir Pharmaceuticals (CTRV) announced preliminary data dramatizing the unique properties of CMX157, the company's highly potent lipid prodrug of the successful antiviral drug tenofovir, or TFV. CMX157 was shown to be 60-fold more active than tenofovir against the hepatitis B virus, or HBV, based on in vitro studies.
Avatar f tn I am not aware that impaired renal function precludes treatment for HCV. I have read that kidney disease is a negative predictor of SVR but, so too are a lot of conditions yet people have overcome them. I have seen articles which discuss the plasma levels of ribavirin with renal impaired patients. The suggestion is that rather than weight base dose these patients the dose should be arrived at by considering GFR (glomerular filtration rate). This is from Clinical Care Options @ http://tiny.
Avatar f tn my doctor tell me that i can replace baraclode with viread , is that ok if any one knows please tell me
Avatar m tn The Phase 1 portion of the study will enroll 50 healthy volunteers assigned to one of five sequential, ascending CMX157 dosing cohorts. Participants will receive two weeks of a once-daily dose of either 5, 10, 25, 50 or 100 mg of CMX157 or placebo; eight per cohort receiving CMX157 and two per cohort receiving placebo. The objectives of the study are to evaluate the safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetic profile of CMX157.
Avatar m tn Since then, I have been taking Zeffix (Lamivudine). Recently my doctor decided to put me on Viread (Tenofovir) instead. As I have read, some people are experiencing bone density loss due to Tenofovir therapy. Is it advisable that I start taking supplements like calcium and vitamin D along with my therapy to prevent bone loss? Thank you.
Avatar m tn My aunt is now switching from Viread (300mg) to Baraclude (0.5mg). She had been on Viread for about 2 years but her kidney functions have worsened. Our hepatologist and nephrologist think this is happening because of the nephrotoxicity of Viread, which affects some patients. In switching to Baraclude 0.5mg, she is supposed to take Baraclude every other day while still taking Viread everyday for 3 weeks. After that, she'll switch completely to Baraclude. No more Viread.
Avatar m tn By "AGE" I'm assuming you mean a persons age in years. I don't believe age has anything to do with Janumet's "effectiveness" but age has a larger role with renal function. To make it clear for other readers, Janumet is combination of two drugs; Sitagiptin and Metformin. This a brief from the Merck web site - makers of Janumet - Section 8.5 - Geriatric Use JANUMET.
Avatar f tn I also have kidney damage from a bout of high blood pressure 4 years ago, and I am a frequent kidney stone former, so I am being watched carefully by a nephrologist too. I have renal panels frequently too. I was wondering if any of this could increase my stone risk. I was reading about the cytomel and stones. The nephrologist wants me to remain on the synthroid and cytomel.
Avatar m tn I think it depends on some individual factors, particularly renal clearance of the drug. I found this information in the drug reference: According to the manufacturer's tests, the drug reaches maximum serum levels between 15 and 44 hours after subcutaneous injection of a single dose. The mean elimination half-life is 22 to 60 hours (mean = 40 hours). So, I would expect that after 7 days (4.2 half-lifes) that the concentration would be about 5.5% (0.5^4.2) of the maximum levels.
Avatar f tn I've been on Viread since 4/18/15 (almost 6 months). I'm worried but don't know if I need to be. Below are my labs... 6/20/15: Alt 27 u/l AST 30 u/l Creatinine .7 mg/dl DNA <20 iu detected 7/23/15 Alt 25 AST 26 Creatinine .73 GFR 102 DNA <20 iu detected 10/5/15 Alt 29 AST 30 Creatinine .82 GFR 88 DNA <20 iu detected My questions are this: 1. GFR and creatinine seem off for me. My GFR has always been 102-110, so 88 is a big difference for me.

Avatar n tn Just tell me can Enteca match with BARACLUDE when comes to low dosing and precise dosing in conditions like CHB????No Gastro or Hepatologists should prefer the generics as the don't have any clinical trials...what they have only bioequivalance study and that a ******** study...if u want to debate just reply me buddy.
Avatar m tn my kidney function results came back abnormal so my dr. told me to split the Viread "tablet". this is difficult because the pill will not break evenly and the dosing is now uneven. I have not been feeling well and wonder If I developed resistance. I will have new blood work done in a week to confirm.
Avatar m tn Other telaprevir data to generate a buzz during AASLD came from Study 208, which compared twice-daily to three-times-daily dosing. While the three-times-daily regimen resulted in undetectable HCV RNA levels for 80 percent of patients at four weeks and 93 percent at 12 weeks, the twice-daily regimen held steady at 83 percent for both time points. Avatar n tn Glomerular filtration rate or its approximation of the creatinine clearance are measured whenever renal disease is suspected or careful dosing of nephrotoxic drugs is required. The normal ranges of GFR, adjusted for body surface area for males is 70 ± 14 mL/min/m2 (56-84) . Risk factors for kidney disease include diabetes, high blood pressure, family history and older age. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar f tn a little higher than normal(lower than 80), the new normal alt level is 19 for women from 2009, 80 is by far abnormal active DNA detected why did you stop viread without any knowledge of your drug and illness, viread is safe for the baby, restart it immediately also to protect baby from hbv there are other pregnant women taking viread here and since viread is also used on hiv the number of babies borne while taking viread is very very high and no problems at all restart viread as soon as poss
Avatar m tn My doctor suggests me taking Viread with both calcium and vitD. The drug information also has the similar suggestion, maybe because it might cause bone problems, soft or thin bones. But I remember a general view here is that we should avoid high calcium food like dairy products while taking vitD. Confused...
Avatar m tn Also, how do they decide if you should be on viread tablets or on the injection (peginterferon)? If your on viread do you have to take it for life? And if you take the peginterferon injection then after one year if hbv dna is undetected can you stop taking all medication? Finally, is the coast of viread tabs close to a 1000dollars a month? Thats damn expensive.
Avatar m tn just try intf+viread and see if hbsag lowers, viread mono will not work on hbsag but intf+viread has high percentages of response
