My doctor suggests me to take viread, fortunately cost of 30 tablets viread is around 40 euro and free for HIV patient on Indonesia.

Sounds just a tad bit more than the current cost of Viread (approximate $25 per pill in the US). Not surprised here. Let's just hope insurance companies are able to cover this one, as I know they like to play games sometimes for a bit before the meds make it on the list.
dr. prescribed viread, i went to cvs, retail cost, almost 1000 usd for 30 pills in a bottle, i paid $40 co pay each time, and i normally asked for 3 bottles each time, medical insurance covered the remaining cost. in Sep-10-2012, have alots of question to ask him about viread trentemt since my liver have no damge. Beside in US viread cost about $25 per pill, if I taking this for life that alot of money I don't have. China has re written their F D A type regulation banning Viread because the earlier agreement stated that Viread was 300% higher in cost. China decided at that price, few people could afford the $12,000/yr and was not helping it's people. Brazil and another country have banned the Viread name and it's exclusion for the Generic Tenofovir. I am buying the generic through a Canadian pharmacy. They have store fronts across the country.

And i understand that injections such as peginterferon are usually for an year..after one year if it is suppressed then can you stop all medication or are you put on any other medication?

I am Hep B e negative with a viral load of 77000 IU. My doctor prescribed me Viread 4 days before and now It was my 4rth day on Viread.
Till my third tablet I did not noticed any side effect. Today i felt some pain in my joints and muscles. Some burning in my hand and feet palms.
Is this somthing I should be very concerned or all this ok or just causal side effects which they will eirther be adopted by me or will go away?

A prophylactic treatment is to start HIV prevention drugs within 24 hours; such as Viread to stop the virus from entering the body and cure the issue. Now regarding herpes, if someone suspects herpes exposure, if I were to start on Valtrex within 24 hours, would this stop the virus from spreading or in other words kill it as so it cant spread any further. Same goes for taking Doxycycline stop all bacterials in there tracks prior to manifestation.
Anyone in the U.S. using Medicare Part D for Tenofovir (TDF, Viread) or Entecavir (ETV, Baraclude)?
Currently, my aunt is on Adefovir (ADV, Hepsera) and she has Medicare Part D. After asking around this forum, I now realize that she should be on the above 2 medication only! I'm in the process of getting a new doctor, but I wanna see how costly getting on those 2 drugs will be.

hi! i was also prescribed ng viread ng doctor ko. same reaction din sa akin. i changed my diet and took some supplement for my liver and so far as of last test ko nun october bumaba na lahat. close monitoring din with my doc.

Due to my insurance with the high cost for Baraclude, my doctor suggested to quit baraclude and be monitored every 6 months. If virus comes back, then switch to Viread. He said he is hoping the virus will not come back.
I am worried about the possibility of virus comes back and have to take Viread while Baraclude seems to work just fine for me now. I am willing to pay if staying with Baraclude is the right choice.
Please give me some advise...

why did you stop viread without any knowledge of your drug and illness, viread is safe for the baby, restart it immediately also to protect baby from hbv
there are other pregnant women taking viread here and since viread is also used on hiv the number of babies borne while taking viread is very very high and no problems at all
restart viread as soon as poss
Also, how do they decide if you should be on viread tablets or on the injection (peginterferon)? If your on viread do you have to take it for life? And if you take the peginterferon injection then after one year if hbv dna is undetected can you stop taking all medication?
Finally, is the coast of viread tabs close to a 1000dollars a month? Thats damn expensive.

just try intf+viread and see if hbsag lowers, viread mono will not work on hbsag but intf+viread has high percentages of response

hi to all, I am takin Entecavir Entegard prodct by Innogen for 4 mos na. It cost 265 each in mercury, but I am buyin from an agent and it cost 235 each..Pinakilala naman nun doktor ko yung ahente sakin kaya dun na ako bumibili.
The thing is, i dont know when could I stop taking madecine, sabi ng ibang doktor kasi hindi naman ako chronic 1 to 2 years, ung iba naman baka 5 years or lifetime pa di sinunod mga bawal..pero hindi ako naniniwala, I will be ok next year.hehe!
yhi i'm on combo viread + interferon i'm 27 yo and still eag+..
you should take viread+interferon like other members in the forum, chances to clear hbv once and for all are 24% at 48 weeks.
