Avatar m tn My sister-in-law is just above 10 years old. She takes Viread and Kaletra every day. My mother-in-law takes Videx EC and Ziagen. My mother-in-law is currently in Africa, and I've searched on the pills my sister-in-law is taking, and I found out that it was HIV treatment :'( I couldn't hold my tears, because I love her so much, and she is so young. I want to know what it means. Please tell me.

Avatar f tn I am a girl of teenage years who is very concerned about my mother and my little sister. My mother and sister have always taken daily medicine, but I never knew why, because it is not something we really have talked about in our family. I have sometimes asked my sister why she takes the medicine, and she said that she don't know and that they will tell her when she gets older and understand.
Avatar f tn I've been on Viread a few months with good results so far. Before meds and at 2 month mark my kidney level was unchanged (gfr and creatine good). I know Viread has that risk long term of kidney damage, which worries me since most will need it longterm or life, as of what's available now. I have read taking baking soda is good for kidneys. Should I start this, or only of I see changes in labs?
Avatar f tn We just need to be more extra careful and of course always pray and believe in HIM. To those who are taking and will take VIREAD, I have a more cheaper price compaired to other pharmacy's price. You will have a discount of almost 7% or equivalent to Php245 per bottle. Actually if you can check information about VIREAD it can also helps those people who have HIV Positive. For more information you may contact me at 09175752692.

Avatar m tn I am 32 years old male, living in the United States and I have HBV since birth. Two weeks ago, I started using tenofovir (viread), but my ALT and AST levels are remarkably increasing in the past two months. I wonder if anyone has any explanation for this? My test results are below and I will keep them updated as I have more test results.
Avatar f tn be carefull it is full of ignorant doctors, please see a second doctor and very expert and change the one who told you to stop viread, he was totally wrong and any expert doctor will tell you that on the contrary viread is used before pregnancy to lower the virus and save the baby from cronic hbv
Avatar m tn If you are an inactive carrier with undetected hbv dna and no damage why were you put on viread? Or were you active before and thats why you were put on viread? Also, how do they decide if you should be on viread tablets or on the injection (peginterferon)? If your on viread do you have to take it for life? And if you take the peginterferon injection then after one year if hbv dna is undetected can you stop taking all medication?
Avatar f tn My brother has HBV and is taking viread and hes und, doing pretty well but he never drinks. He does smoke weed atleast once or twice a week. Is weed bad with HBV? Is it as dangerous as alchohal?
Avatar m tn The trial began this June and will announce top line results for the first cohort treated with only SB 9200 in early 2017, but the more important results will be from those sequentially treated with SB 9200 and then Viread. Those results are slated for the second half of 2017 and would be the first evidence of a functional HBV cure in humans if successful.
Avatar m tn d change doctor, make a resistance test to see if you developped any resistance and make entecavir 1mg+tenofovir 300mg (baraclude+viread) combo, consider adding alinia (nizonide500) off label therapy or combo with interferon too to see if you lower hbsag or make it negative because as you know NUCs like entecavir and tenofovir have no effect on virus clearance they just make hbvdna und
Avatar m tn We expect this is likely to play out the same way in China where GSK has the marketing rights to Viread and when it receives manufacturing and marketing approval from China's State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) sometime likely to be in 2014. Patients develop resistance to the major existing HBV medications over time and chronic HBV patients then need to change to a next generation therapy. In the case of lamivudine, around 80% of patients develop resistance after 5 years.
Avatar m tn just try intf+viread and see if hbsag lowers, viread mono will not work on hbsag but intf+viread has high percentages of response
Avatar m tn Stefano and others, thanks for your help. As I posted before, 2 of my relatives are currently undergoing Hepsera monotherapy. I went to a new doctor for a second opinion and the Hepsera-prescribing current doctor for an explanation of treatment choice. The first doctor agreed that Baraclude and Viread are to be dispensed per current AASLD guidelines but, once you've started with Hepsera, there is no need to change. He felt that the resisitance rate for Hepsera (vs.
Avatar m tn please post biopsy results, if fibrosis is f1 or f0 there is no reason to take viread, it has no effect on infection and can only stop liver damage and if you have zero liver damage there is absolutely no reason to take it fibroscan made every 6 months can tell when fibrosis increases, liver cancerincreases and antiviral may be useful, a fibroscan value of 7kpa is indicative of relevant fibrosis and a value >8kpa increaes liver cancer risk, that s when an antiviral is useful what is your hbv
Avatar f tn No don't stop viread and wait for a couple of month till taf arrives completely in market and then switch to it as is renosafe. Stopping viread will flush ur 8 years of virus control and chances to lose hbsag in future may go in vane.
Avatar m tn yhi i'm on combo viread + interferon i'm 27 yo and still eag+..
