Avatar f tn Hi just want to share my experience, i'm a reactive hepa b since 2011 and just last Sept 2014 my friend (doctor) told me to go for a check up and some blood test. Got my results last Sept 2014 and sad to say I have a million of virus inside my body, my DNA Viral load is more than 110,000,000IU/ml and my hbsag quantification was 210,000, hbsag and hbeag were both reactive. My doctor told me to take VIREAD (its a antiretroviral tenofovir) and need to have follow up check up after 3 months.
Avatar n tn how it can be possible 44 yo and still eag+??? I see you're eag+ and eab+... right?
Avatar m tn I have chronic hepatitis B and been using Viread and Zeffix. ALT has been normal, HBV DNA has been negative and HBeAg has been positive recently. Now I am post-doctoral researcher in Paris and applied to temporary residence permit in Paris for 1-year without work permit. I have been working in an institution in my country and I can benefit from our social security system through the consulate. Namely, I do not need social security in France.
Avatar m tn A fulminant hepatitis B never leads to chronic Hepatitis, but often leads to death. Since the activity and intensity of the immune attack on the liver is partially fueled by the amount of circulating virions, his hepatologist wanted to reduce this factor to give him a better chance. His clinical problems are caused by the intense hepatitis, not the antiviral medication.
Avatar f tn It is recommended that creatinine clearance be calculated in all patients prior to initiating therapy and as clinically appropriate during therapy with VIREAD. Routine monitoring of calculated creatinine clearance and serum phosphorus should be performed in patients at risk for renal impairment. Dosing interval adjustment of VIREAD and close monitoring of renal function are recommended in all patients with creatinine clearance <50 mL/min [See DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION].
Avatar m tn i am not sure which, ETV or viread is better for you, but looking at the physical size, viread and truvada is 300mg, much bigger pill, but low or no resistant, and everytime i switched prescription, the dr. always want a blood report in 2 months make sure no mutation, and kidney and other organs are still functioning normally. i am the very lucky, rare less than 5% per year that went through hbsag seroconvesion by medication.
Avatar f tn If while being switched from Hepsera to truvada is there a risk that the Hep B could become active? Also , the Hepatitis B DNA is currently undetectable and the Hep B Surface AG is currently negative (both prior to transplant as well as post transplant, so far ) what are the chances that the Hep B could become active again once the Hbig infusions are stopped? Thank you.

Avatar f tn 1%) is up on a whopping 61x surge in volume in response to its announcement of results from a third-party laboratory (in vitro) study that showed greater antiviral activity in a hepatitis B virus (HBV) cell culture for product candidate CMX157 compared to Gilead Sciences' (GILD -0.9%) tenofovir alafenamide fumarate (TAF).
Avatar m tn My doctor recommended Viread treatment to me for hepatitis b virus. I had taken pegasy for a year, no good result;the virus returned to the blood immediately few days after the treatment of pegasy . For past 3 yrs i have been taken VIREAD. Normally i do DNA test every six months for the viread load. 5 dna test i did, all read negative( i.e two and half years ) . The last DNA test i did recently in january 2012 reads positive. I do take this treatment (VIREAD) everyday. My doctor is worried.
Avatar m tn in order to be considered "cured", one has to develop hepatitis B surface antibody and completely cleared hepatitis B surface antigen(HBsAG negative)

Avatar n tn I have a best friend who was diagnosed with Hep B and auto-immune hepatitis from the liver biopsy. His viral DNA count is in 400K+ range and he has level 3-4 cirrhosis according to the biopsy. His ALT/AST are in 100+ range. Doctor put him on Viread (300 mg) for past two weeks. He has been having very bad bloating and his old bronchitis seems to have returned (most likely the overly active immune response). My question is: what should be the typical treatment in this case?

Avatar m tn The trial began this June and will announce top line results for the first cohort treated with only SB 9200 in early 2017, but the more important results will be from those sequentially treated with SB 9200 and then Viread. Those results are slated for the second half of 2017 and would be the first evidence of a functional HBV cure in humans if successful.
