Vicodin in body

Common Questions and Answers about Vicodin in body

vicodin

Avatar m tn I was taking 60-80mg of hydrocodone a day during that month and a half period. Would taking Vicodin weaken my body and prolong the withdrawal process from Zoloft?
268911 tn?1213744781 is I have something called Celiacs Disease which is a condition wherer your body does not tollerate a substance called gluten. Gluten is found in everything, ketchup, salad dressing, croutons, bread, beer, pasta, etc. If a person has this disease and does not treat it the body will respond in several different ways. Chronic pain and fatigue are two of the most typical symptoms of this problem. \ My questions is this.
1383825 tn?1315232262 Im on Day 48 clean from vicodin. Over the past week, I ve had extreme muscle knots in my neck and upper back. To the point of making me crazy. I even shelled out $$$ for a deep tissue massage my neck hurt so bad. The massage helped a lot, but then today, the pain was back. In a different spot on my upper back. Do you know if this could be from detox?
Avatar n tn I have read everyone that has written in about withdraws from vicodin, but most of them have not been on them for years. My husband has been taking vicodin for about 4-5 years taking anywhere from 4-6 a day depending on his pain. He has terrible knee pain and without it he is unable to function with his job. He is only 38 years old and just found out a couple of months ago that he has the knees of an 88 year old man!!! so, we are waiting so he can get 2 total knee replacements.
Avatar m tn Hi...I have been taking 5-6 vicodin daily. I started taking them for headaches but now they seem to give me a boost of energy. Im so over wanting/needing them. Im ready to be done. Is it safe for my heart/body to quit cold turkey? I know it will be hard, but Im willing as long as it wont kill me to just stop!
Avatar f tn i even wonder if i should go through with this/ i have been taking vicodin for over a year due to pain and im scared to have surgery with all the vicodin in my body does any one know if that will affect any thing?
Avatar f tn this is where the nerve endings in your body are that effect your entire body... including anxiousness.. when you have an anxiety attack all the nerves and muscles in your body are contracting and the hot water opens up the nerve endings in the feet and hands and calms the entire body.. I sometimes do this and the deep breathing together..
Avatar f tn The ex-addict should do anything that helps the body create the endogenous endorphins and other affected brain chemicals and to stimulate their receptor sites. In this way, he will have his body returned to a normal state as quickly as possible.
Avatar m tn Zoloft is a brain altering drug for the deppression because it works on the serotonin in your brain. Vicodin also alters the brain but on different receptors,so I don't think it would help mentally with Zoloft withdrawls.
Avatar n tn re not having any withdrawal symptoms from the Vicodin though is because the tramadol is still stimulating your MU receptors, which are the same receptors that the Vicodin attaches to, therefore as far as your body is concerned, you are still taking a narcotic. That's the problem with tramadol. It's still addictive like a narcotic, it reacts the same way on your body as a narcotic, but it's not strong enough to control anything but minor pain.
Avatar f tn However, I will have no way of knowing if it is the Suboxone that caused it or if it was there from the previous Vicodin use. Today I feel perfectly normal, and not like my body is shutting down. It is because after I didn't take that extra little evening piece the night before last, my body emptied everything in there. I didn't take the bedtime piece last night either, and today I feel good. I am going back to my determined plan to begin a slow taper and see how it goes.
Avatar n tn m not sure if hydrocodone and morphine are in the same family of drugs. I know vicodin and percocet are in a similar family (due to codine), but morphine is much different. refer to this website. http://www.rxlist.com/duramorph-drug.
Avatar m tn Hi...I am at the point where I NEED to quit my addiction to Vicodin...I know that I can do this myself...has anyone been successful at self-quitting???...can you tell me the best process to quit...i.e. slow deliberate weaning of dosages,etc...if I can do this. I can then work on my smoking addiction next...I am 56 yo and it has all caught up with me...thank you for any advice...
Avatar n tn I know I am now dependent on vicodin. I felt this way once before after knee surgery, but just tapered off. I also quit smoking cold turkey so I am fairly motivated to go the course. After a second knee surgury this year, I am having trouble getting off the 375 miligarms dose 3 x a day. Stopping for a day results in chills at feet and hands, no sleep, and increased emotional pressure to just pop one. That is especially true at night.
Avatar m tn Will I cause any permanent damage to my brain or anything else in my body if the Vicodin and an anesthetic interact with each other? Have any of you taken Vicodin the day before a surgery? Just fyi, I take Vicodin for something completely unrelated to my wisdom teeth.
Avatar n tn OMG..you described what I am going thru....I didn't abuse but my body sure in the heck lets me know if I miss a dose...WD pain, for me, is worse than my physical pain...My new Dr. is now going to try electronic Acupuncture on me..My old Dr. just wanted to keep upping the meds...No More...I dumped him and found one my insurance covers with Alternative Therapies...Massages, Acupuncture, Physical Therapy, Exercise and such...The hardest part is getting off these da&m pills...
Avatar n tn ) and during that time she also had been addicted to prescription drugs (vicodin, librium). Started dialysis in May 2008, staph infection June 2008, C-diff June 2008, heart attack end of June 2008. Mom is in CONSTANT pain, drs. test and test and find nothing new....during May, June she's made multiple ER visits, driven herself or called an ambulance, and DEMANDS injections (dilaudid) with her vicodin she takes. She ends up getting it.....
Avatar n tn The vicodin should definitely be enough! I work in a gyno office and our patients are just told to take an ibuprofe. I feel the vicodin will be more than enough for you. I hope this helps!
1378325 tn?1285346625 I was taking generic Vicodin for a month or so after being on Relafen for 10 yrs., did not help. The Vicodin offered some relief, but my Rhuemetologist, who did not prescribe them, did not like that they were narcotics and the body eventually would build up a tolerance and the possibility of addiction is always there, so he prescribed the Tramadol for me, we'll see how they do, only on for 2 days now. The pain will remind me to take the Ribose.
Avatar m tn I had a severe back injury in january and my doctor has prescribed vicodin to me off and on since. I am pregnant, and due in a couple of weeks. About how long does it take for the baby to withdraw from the vicodin use? I would like to avoid withdrawl after the baby is born.
675923 tn?1296238011 Unfortunately, even if you take them as prescribed physically your body will be come dependent on having them so taking them for extended periods of time, your body will be dependent and when you stop your body will go into withdrawal. Best thing you can do is not pick them up again. If you dont need them, dont take them. You've come 5 days - dont go back! Be strong -you can do it.
Avatar f tn Not sick anymore, Is this all in my head.....I just really like vicodin..........but would be so happy if I could just stop taking them for good, I don't know if I am strong enough , guess I will find out FRiday. I don't think I can take 3 a day ONLY like I am suppose to??? I don't know If I dare try.
Avatar f tn My wife age 40 yrs a mother of two is suffering from complete body pain. One doctor has diagosed it as fibromyalgia but has not prescribed any medication.
Avatar m tn In one study, of 30465 people who used Vicodin, 285 had hallucination. I am fortunate in that pain meds work to control pain to a tolerable level after surgery, but do not cause any feelings of euphoria or pleasure or unplesant psychiatric side effects either. They are just so constipating that using them is unpleasant. I hope you don't need much surgery or they can find something that doesn't cause you so much trouble.
