Avatar f tn I was prescribed with vicodin for the pain and birth control to try and level out my hormones. My question is should I just go ahead and push for the surgery or should i wait it out and see if it goes away on it's own. My fear is that if I wait too long it will rupture or twist and cause me more severe pain (like before) or also grow in size and risk losing my right ovary all together. My OBGYN doesn't seem worried at all and i am freaking out about it. Someone please help me!

727136 tn?1231182664 You name it, I had it. My left ovary was enlarged to size of grapefruit, wrapped around my ureter and the artery nearby, then that was all plastered to my left pelvic side wall. I opted for total hys due to endo, etc. I have 1 happy, healthy boy - he's almost 10! Anyway, the Dr. told me the day after surgery that he had to "chisel" out all the tissue he could but I would have to have surgery again due to tissue growth - this time it would have to be with a GYN Oncologist.
Avatar f tn thanks Research about the interaction of grapefruit juice with drugs suggests that compounds in grapefruit juice, called furanocoumarins (for example, bergamottin), may be responsible for the effects of grapefruit juice.
