Avatar n tn She thought it was a toothache, so after seeing her dentist, getting xrays, she ruled out any tooth issues (except possibly a root canal gone bad) and said possibly a sinus infection to which she prescribed pennicillin. Last night my daughter awoke in tremendous agony and her regular doctor appt. isn't until this afternoon to check for a sinus infection. Also dentist referred me to an oral surgeon, just in case, to check her root canal that was done 3 yrs. ago.
Avatar m tn Seemed to think problem was other than tooth-- possible ear infection or sinus infection. He gave me two perscriptions. I then went to see my primary care Dr. who examined upper respiratory system. He seems to think I have a sinus infection but said it could also be start of shingles. He converted my dentist's perscriptions to vicodin, azithromycin, & MucinexD. Still much pain 12 hrs. later. Hope this stuff works. Your comments?
Avatar f tn I had a sinus infection in Nov of 2007, and I have had a headache ever since. It has been a constant thing that is beginning to drive me insane. I have recently had a CAT scan that came back normal in an emergency room. Sometimes it is so intense I have to go to bed and take vicodin (2) so the pain will subside. It is usually pounding when I need to take the vicodin. My head feels like there is a ball rolling around on the inside and when it hits the walls of my skull it hurts really bad.
Avatar f tn So we get there and they give me morphine for the pain, then they do a CT scan and find Maxillary sinus mucus retention cyst on both sides of the sinus. Give me a prescription for nasal spray and some vicodin and send me home. It seems as though these cysts are common and non threatning, either way i am going to set up an appointment with an ENT and see what he/she says... anyone have any suggestions or further knowledge of this type of cyst?
Avatar n tn Also on same day crown was fitted pt had two moles removed w subsequent skin infection at removal sites (swelling, redness, pus) resolved after about 1-2 wks. Pt had been on all other meds for over 1 month. * crown was made and fitted in one visit w new technology CERECĀ®3D WHAT MIGHT HAVE CAUSED THIS ACUTE GUM SWELLING?
Avatar m tn Vicodin along with other narcotic medications lower your immune system once they're stopped abruptly. You're more apt to getting sick once you've stopped taking them -- but you didn't mention if you're on them still or have stopped taking them. Either way, it sounds like you're merely sick with a common something or other...
Avatar n tn I had an ear infection last week and was put on Augmentin for the first time. By Thursday I had developed a bad case of thrush with blisters down my throat! They stopped the Augmentin and started me on Nystatin, Ear drop antibiotics, and Vicodin for the pain Friday. By Sunday afternoon I had awful leg cramps and yesterday morning the pain was so bad that I had to go to urgent care. They drew labs but said they felt I was allergic to the vicodin. Gave me a steroid shot and steroid pack.
7892775 tn?1395673991 s a sinus infection without seeing doctor. I get a sinus infection this time every year and sometimes an ear infection with it. I was so hoping that maybe I would have some luck and not get one this year. I would call my other doctor and ask them to just call me a prescription in for an antibiotic but they won't do it because I'm pregnant and says to get permission from obgyn on what I can have. This really ***** I feel horrible.
Avatar f tn I've been dealing with what I thought was a sinus infection for the past week. Today was the first day I had relief from unrelenting facial pain without the need of painkillers. I was blowing out of lot of bloody mucus throughout the week, and today I blew out something from my nose that had the same feel of latex skin (link to a picture of it is provided below).
Avatar f tn Has anyone had a sinus infection while pregnant? If so, were you able to take anything? Im 11 weeks pregnant and beginning to feel miserable.
894112 tn?1241554104 Every thing seemed to be going ok till about a month ago. I have had a sinus infection for about a month now. I have been on four different kinds of antibiotics and I am on allergy meds and none of them have worked. They did do a ct scan and it shows that all my sinus cavities are full. Does any one know what might be going on?
11970398 tn?1443134602 I went to the doc today for a sinus infection, bronchitis and ear infection :/ they gave me antibiotics for the infections and mucinex for the bronchitis. How far are you? They said because I was in third trimester that it was safer to take antibiotics.
Avatar f tn I've had a sinus infection for about 4 weeks now. After the second week I thought it had disapeared but i woke up one morning and it hit me like a truck. I feel very worn out, facial pressure, espically right under the eyes and around the nose. Within the past few days, I have not been able to breath out the left side of my nose. It feels plugged up and needing blown, but when I do blow my nose, nothing comes out.
Avatar f tn I have a sinus infection too. Have had it for 10 days :( I went to the er last Friday and they gave me a z-pack and I finished it Friday and I still am having problems. My doc said once you hit the 2nd trimester, you will have more sinus problems bc of blood flow or something..
2017838 tn?1330598150 Good advice from tschock. It's been in the news lately that Amoxicillin has not effect on sinus infections, but we've known that here for years. A Neilmed Sinus Rinse is also good for saline, and blowing up balloons helps with the popping.
Avatar m tn I am taking clarithromycin for sinus infection but I am taking Tylenol 3 for some different pain.Is it OK to take to them the same time?
519035 tn?1348275773 I started with a bloody nose maybe in middle of Feburary. I felt a little congested but not bad. By the end of Feb I broke out with the worst sinus infection in my life! I was draining everywhere. Heres how it started the day before I got sick I was eating dinner and felt as tho I got something caught in my throat. I went to the doc the following day and she said ooh its something viral. The following day I had nothing but drainage from head to ears to nose.
Avatar f tn She put me on Augmentin for 8 days for a sinus infection and said that she saw fluid behind my left eardrum. After the 8th day of pain, the augmentin did NOTHING and I went to the ER. The ER doctor was concerned about my family history and me being a smoker, and recommended a CAT scan and a spinal tap! I had both. I also insisted he do a full sinus scan. The CAT and Tap came back normal. My sinuses were a "little cloudy" on the left side.
Avatar n tn My husband was on antibiotics for a sinus infection for over 6 months at one point until it all finally broke up. He about ripped up his nasal passages passing out old, hard junk that was like a pencil eraser. It's all too easy to blow off a sinus infection as no big deal and try to treat it with over-the-counter meds. Those meds can work but only if it's allergies and not a true infection causing the trouble. If it's an infection, you need antibiotics. Period.
Avatar n tn I am on my third round of anti-biotics for a sinus infection and cannot get any relief. The first round was 14 days (cannot remember name) along with a one week supply of Prednisone. The infection seemed to get better, but came back very strong 3 days after my meds were finished. My head hurt so badly that I was crying and had to use an ice pack to help ease the pain. My doctor gave me Levaquin (10 days), another 7 day supply of Prednisone, and Lortab 10mg.
Avatar n tn Not any better - now slight cough, headache, congestion, dizzy and flushed and at night wake up all sweaty.
Avatar n tn A sinus infection is a symptom of HIV? I have a sinus infection... From what the doctors said, HIV doesn't cause sinus infections.
