I still ahve anxiety, my doctor gave me Celexa which is okay, my question is, is it okay to take Xanax and Celexa together? I used to take Xanax too for panic attacks, and for now I know it will make me feel better. Does anyone know if they can be taken together? I have never been hooked on Xanax at all, so that is not a problem.
My friend that is a doctor called me in a perscrition of Ativan and said to take 1mg as needed and that I should be fine and would detox from the pain meds and xanax in a few days. Fact is, I'm really not even sure if/which one I'm craving, But I know that in the afternooons I have to take something to get rid of the jitterbugs. I have an appointment with another doctor (addictionoligist) in a few days but if anyone could offer some advice here I would surely appreciate it.

I recently got off Vicodin on January 2nd. It became addictive. I've been on Xanax for 10 years and I am tapering. I'm taking 1-1/2 mg. per day and I started taking Prozac at 10 mg. per day a week ago. I am experiencing racing thoughts, discomfort with my heart beating, clammy, smoky taste in my mouth after sleeping, horrible Anxiety buzz (Which begins with the racing thoughts), sore temple, tightness in head.
5/750 (Vicodin) 3x daily and alprazolam (Xanax) 0.5mg 4x daily.
Do you have the same pharmacist fill both prescriptions? He/she would be the best person to ask if you have any worries about combining the two medications. The only thing my pharmacist has warned me about with these two medications together is to be sure that I DO NOT take more than my recommended dosages and that I am NOT to drink alcohol with them.
The two work really well for me together, too :).
All seemed ok. He was prescribed Nortriptylene and Xanax. The Xanax seemed to help him a lot but drowsy. When he saw his primary Dr 6 days later, he said absolutely not on the xanax The other ok. I was wondering if vicodin was safe to take for someone with that kind of stroke. Does it help your wife? and what strength does she take?
Can you please tell me if you can take Nexium 40mg. and Zantac 75mg. together or on the same day. My GI doctor has me on Nexium 40mg. and my PCP wants me to take Zantac 75mg. at night before I go to bed. Is it safe, and can I take it with Xanax 1mg. I have GERDS and Barrett's Esophagus. And they both think it mjght be causing these little pinpoint pimples in my mouth, tongue, and throat.
The only problem is that at 33 years old I never struggled with anxiety, I was always very ahppy go lucky until the Vicodin addiction... I am very ready to take nothing and quite frankly almost out of xanax and have no way of getting more and really dont want to..
I think one of the things that scares me is the thought that I could have seizures from going off the xanax, but, can I coming off of .25mg a day?
Since I started to wean off my Xanax addiction I quit taking the Vicodin and Tramadol, except for 1 day had bad migraine and none Imitrex pills, my insurance only covers 9 pills and paying them is more than 200 dollars. The point is that I do not feel side effects or W/D effects from quitting the Vicodin and Tramadol. It this possible? I didn't even knew Tramadol was an opiate until I joined this community.
Just my experience....I stopped the vicodin cold turkey and was also on xanax 2 mlg twice daily for 15 years. With my doctors guidance I did a very slow taper and am off them as well. Definately speak with yor doctor....going off xanax especially after 20 years needs to be monitored by a doctor BUT it can be done. I feel so much better off the xanax!

I was put on Zoloft at first and then switched a few years ago to 40mg of Paxil along with 25mg of Xanax daily. I still feel anxiety and depression, however, and am afraid these drugs no longer work or that I have become immune to their effects. Should I be expecting the dosages of these medications to change over time? Is it normal to prescribe these drugs together? I am also on toprol for my blood pressure. A different perspective on these drugs would help. Thank you.
I was just diagnosed with an autoammune disease and don't want to take plaquenil just yet. Doctor said to take celebrex and a muscle relaxer. I have been taking 1 mg of xanax for 3 weeks and before that it was about twice a week as needed. I was having such anxiety and sleep issues rhemy said to take it every day. Now 3 weeks later she wants to try the new coctail of celebrex and muscle relaxer.

But I want to quit these pills bc I feel they r controlling me. The withdrawals suck on the vicodin. But I hope I can beat this.

I have tapering since Sept 21, 2012 25mcg of Fentanyl Patch I was prescribed and on for almost 2 years. I went off the patch on Sept 21,2012, and am tapering with Vicodin ( 45 mg per day in DIVIDED doses over a 24 hour period) and 6 MG Xanax ( also in divided doses ) in a 24 hour period.
Does ANYONE have experience about WHEN and HOW to taper off these " taper" meds?
I was prescribed Vicodin 750's (2 twice a day) about 4 years ago for my for my low back pain. I began taking them (as prescribed) but spring 3 years ago, I was doing spring cleaning and getting my yard ready for summer & it hurt so much worse...I told my doctor so she prescribed stronger ones-and more of them. Now I get the 10/325 Hydrocodone (aka Norco) and she prescribed 2 of them, three times a day.
m feeling daily pain in shoulder blades, like knots forming there and are painful to the touch, my muscles in the back of the neck and shoulder are tense and almost daily I have migraines, which is very debilitating.
I'm not feeling anxiety or panick attacks, so I think is not from the Xanax tapering off.
Could it be that these symptoms are from the Vicodin/Tramadol withdrawal? What can it helps to at least avoid the migraines?

she said out of all the hard core drugs shes done all her life that was the most phsycially difficult one she ever detoxed from was vicodin have no doubt I can do this an I hope the pain is almost over I have done everything possible naturally except I started out with valium ,does nothing for me ,nuyquill works the best for the body pain I wish it made me sleep I am smoking alittle pot it helps to and I dont usually smoke pot really need to sleep tonigt I have some xanax it has alwas worked
it may actually be better to get off the pain killers first, then go slowly off the xanax. the xanax can help you with the wd's from the pain killers, and you need to taper off the xanax.
The doctor prescribed me Celexa which I took for a week and stopped, because I had no appetitie at all and it made me sick. So yesterday I took Xanax again for the first time and felt much better, did not take the Celexa.
I am worried now reading these posts, because I have never been addicted and always been able to step, but according to the posts it is dangerous and addictive - please help with advice!
i have cut back to 2 mg of xanax a day and by next week i can cut down to 1 xanax and the next week be off.........per my dr he is a pshy.A friend told me she thinks thats to much benzos...........so now im scared. I have to get off the xanax.I am pretty drowsy..but my dr said that should pass once my body adjusts.........
