vicodin and running

Thanks for the responses guys. I started using the tramadol the day after running out of Dilaudid. I would normally feel a little uncomfortable after using Vicodin 7.5's, running out, and then using the Tramadol. After a couple of days, however, I always felt like I would be fine with just the Tramadol. Of course, when I would get access to the Vikes, I would just justify it and say that I have the Tramadol when I run out so why not just use them and feel a little better.

Soma is a muscle relaxer and pretty strong it usually makes u very tired and sleepy and I found it worked better that valium Now I know alot of doctors will prescribe soma350 and Lortab at the same time and the two tend to work off of each other increasing the effects of both.

3 years from Vicodin and 91 days from subs is something to be very proud of. I'm at around 130 days myself and it only gets better, keep up the great work. Amazing my friend!

Hello and welcome to the forum.. Your body can do it for awhile.. Your liver and kidneys cannot.. also the effect they have on our life and loved ones can be devastating.. I guess the answer to how long can your body stand them.. till you can not go on any further with them running your life.. as to why we get energy.. I do not know but it is a deceiving kind of energy.. as it winds your mind it steals your health and emotions leaving a shell of need..

The best advice I could give you right now is to try and titrate down (ween off) the Vicodin cut down to one pill for 2 weeks, than a half pill for 2 weeks, than a quarter of a pill for 2 weeks, than don't take "Any" Vicodin at all. For your pain management I would recommend you speak to your Dr about seeing a licensed Physical Therapist. The sooner you get off the Vicodin, The Better.

so i have most bases covered, but the obsession over the vicodin became more of a problem day by day, running out earyl, going through terrible w/ds etc. so my Dr and i decided low dose of methadone, for short term use only might be a good route, so far i have had nothing but seccess. my parents, Drs, even landlord all say i am like a different person. my husband and i cannot use each others meds, so that stress is gone...

I ache all over nose is running and my head hurts. I took some immodium just because my tummy is starting to act up. I know this is just the beginning and I am very scared of what is about to come.

just one and bang. No symptoms and I was running around the house, singing, dancing, going out shopping, repairing and painting stuff, cleaning up, decorating, getting more accomplished in an afternoon than I would have in an entire weekend. Hope someone can help me. Two & 1/2 weeks ago had tooth abcess. Dentist gave Vicodin 5/500. A few days later he did root canal & said root of tooth was cracked & would have to pull it. Gave amoxcillin and more Vicodin so inflamation would go down & he could pull tooth. At first I was taking 6-8 Vicodin/day for about a week. Then got down to 4-6/day for several days. Yesterday, very little pain & only took 1 Vicodin. Today, 1/2 Vicodin.

My physician started me with hydro and then elevated to percs and patches (50mg). My left knee broke while I was running (exercising) almost 6 years ago. Since that time, I checked orthos, had surgery, rehab, etc and medical pros wanted to do a complete knee replacement...I was in my late 30s and frankly said no way...way to young and the knee would have to be replaced again later.

that we will suffer with for along time, things that would send us running for the bottle and if its there you will take them. It is hard to admit addiction even to oneself but it is what it is/ Dont get the refill and keep going on staying clean.You can do this you already made it to day 9!!!! Thats great!!!

On 7/3/09 experienced a visual aura following by dull pressure on top of head. Classic one with lightning bolts. Things have gone downhill since. Pressure moves in head from temples, bridge of nose, ears, teeth, jaw. Also with this is constant dry eyes.

I'm posting this here thinking this will be the best place to get some help. I'm not an addict but am on many meds for chronic pain. The last time I got my oxycodone script filled the pharmacy, Walgreens, didn't have enough to fill the entire script. Because it was late on a Friday, I told them to just fill what they could and I would get a script for the remainder on Monday. I sent the pain clinic nurse practitioner an email explaining what happened and then forgot about it.

When I combined the running with the drugs I felt like superwoman. Pretty soon the pills took over and the running stopped. That was over 7 years ago. Now I'm lucky if I can walk a couple miles and the self discipline that I once had is lost. I would have had a much happier and better life if I had known then what I know now. Hey there.....I don't know about percocet but I took tramadol with vicodin before. I take tramadol and my script was running out before I could get it refilled so I took the vicodin to help make what tramadol I had left, last. So, medically I think it wouldn't hurt anything to take them. You just have to be very careful with tramadol! I am in the process of trying to ween off of it and my dr.

I used to be an advid runner and ive become lazy and unmotivated. I started running again a cpl days ago and have read enough posts to know this is gonna be a great challenge. I also know that ill need support from people who have been there. Finally I've grown close to jesus and know through him with help from this forum that I can do this. My scripts are legal and I wanna conquer this and show my kids that with help and faith yoi can accomplish anything.

As I said, I had never taken Vicodin before, and I was not aware of the ingredients. Acetametophen screws me up, and Ive never had hydrocodone, and certainly haven't mixed the two (which is what Vicodin is). Does anybody know anything about this topic? I tried to research what the effects I had meant, but was unable to find anything helpful. My question is, does anybody have any idea what happened? Obviously I had a bad reaction, but perhaps theres more to it.

So early September/couple weeks ago I decided to cut back, missed a day here and there of the daily Vicodin. Also got bronchitis in the midst of this. I started gettIng strange chills and hot flashes that scared me because there eas no fever with it but just assumed it was the bronchitis. Never had that before without a fever. I don't know if these flashes were because I missed some of the daily pills because I was running low and didn't intend to buy more.

two kids, a private practice, running a household, constant papers, five animals . . .and I am wondering how I am going to do all of this if I feel sooo damned tired all of the time. Friday was my last day of use and today (monday) I feel as though I need it. I hurt, and I am sweaty and cold and I am curious how long these feelings will last. I want to be in control. Lastly my husband is completely unaware of what I am going through, because I have not let him know. I need help.

m pregnant and addicted to opiates (vicodin) and let me tell you, a HUGE weight will be lifted off your shoulders if you tell your doctor. The only problem I can see happening is the doctor saying, "You wont go through withdrawal because Tramadol is a non narcotic"... If that happens, you definitely have to stand your ground and let them know you are addicted and are afraid to withdraw by yourself.

I made a decision last week that I was tired of running out and counting pills. I tapered off and I am now 4 days clean. I honestly believe if you want to quit you will. Withdrawls are bad, I will tell you that but they don't last forever. I am still feeling withdrawls today but they aren't that bad. Good luck to you!

I have been eating applesauce and jello for the most part. I have only been able to sleep for 4 hours a night and when I wake up I get the feelings of a withdrawal. I was thinking of getting melatonin(sp) and some other form of sleep aid like tylenol pm. Any suggestions would really be great! I know I am getting close, but any help would be great! This site has helped me out alot in the first couple of days! Thank you!

but in my personal experience, thats all that vicodin does, too. vicodin makes me violently ill and i found that ibuprofen, tylenol and asprin all worked better than the vicodin...but i talked to my doc first, which is what you should do.

I have been taking vicodin 10/325 once a day for about a year for lower back pain. I was prescribed this medication and the prescription even indicated I could take it up to 4 times a day, but I never took more than one a day because of the strong dose. My back has been getting better, so I decided just to quit the vicodin completely. It is 5 days later and I'm still feeling the effects of stopping it.

s office and he gave me a prescription for antibiotics and vicodin. After 1 day of antibiotics I experienced relief. Now 7 days later the stabbing feeling though not as bad is back but moved closer to my belly button. It hurts the most in the morning when I'm trying to get out of bed or after I've been still for while. The doc again is not alarmed. I've been running a low grade fever for weeks. The area above my belly button is still swollen..unable to wear my jeans comfortably.

For example, Vicodin can be 5mg of hydro and 500mg of tylenol as can Lortab. Or Vicodin can be 10mg of hydro and 325 mg of tylenol and so can Lortab. So they only way one will be stronger than the other as if the Vicodin was 5/500 and the Lortab is 10/325. I hope I have been clear in anwsering your question. If I haven't been please let me know.
