venlafaxine xl

She tells me that the lowest dose of XL is 75mg. She has put me on 37.5mg daily Venlafaxine. I tried this as 150mg dose, and it was not the same at all as Effexor. Is there any alternative. I know Venlafaxine, is supposed to be the same as Effexor, but I don't think it is - at least my body said it was different!! I am now wondering what the next step is for me. What is the difference between Effexor XL and Venlafaxine. How do I reduce from 37.5mg Venlafaxine?

Hi there, been going through various medication regimes now for the last 3 years after me depression 'insidiously' crept up on me to the extent that all the nicer part of me was gone and that was just getting by, carefully avoiding being 'out in the open' and retreating into myself.

really wondering what my options are now as been on effexor / venlafaxine now for 8 1/2 weeks up to 225mg and continue to feel depressed, avoidant and socially quiet which is not the person i am. Contniue to take mirtzapine 45mg and 5-HTP but considering dumping these or / and further augementation stragegies. Anybody have any good experiences with Lithium ornate as an additional supplement or with Lithium carbonate itself for treatment resistent depression??

This 2nd doctor looked it up, and said there was little difference in the cost, and would I like to go back on Effexor XL? I said yes. That was a year ago, and I am still on 150mg Effexor XL. I feel really well. All my anxieties and panics have gone, along with the depression. I know not everybody gets the same benefit as me from Effexor. I also do not know if there is much difference in the original, and the generic form. I may have felt just as well on the generic.

Thank you for your cautionary tale. I also spent a period on fairly high dose Venlafaxine XL (225mg) about ten years ago. I vividly remember the awful side-effects that would develop within a few hours of missing a dose and would evaporate rapidly when I took the medication.

Ive been taking Venlafaxine 225mg for 3 and a half months it isnt eleviating low mood at all. Instead it is making me angry and slightly erraqtic finding it hard to settle or sleep. I told my doctor all he said was keep taking it. The anger inside me bursts out without thinking like never before and im straining relationships. I feel my depression isnt this chemical business in the brain. Im in therapy which is good.

hi been on venlalic xl 75mg for twelve days been was on citalapam for six weeks plus diazapam 5mg and proproponal and sleeping tablets for two weeks only on venlalic now lost appetite but comeing back slowly am sleeping without sleepers and much better but still find hard to get out of bed and want better sleep also have headaches am going out and hpe to go back to work soon any advice also lost sex drive and feelings towards people but am controling panick attacks ellen age fifty two

I have had depression for around 5 years now and been on venlafaxine for nearly 4 of them. I have been upto 300mg and then dropped to 225mg 150mg in am then 25mg as doctor prescribed. These were all on effexor. had a letter earlier in the year saying the drug is being changed from capsule to tablet but is exactly the same. i am taking viepax xl. before i was on effexor modified release.

You sound that your in much distress possibly as the result of your poor mental state and it's damaging effect upon some wider social relationships as i'd recommend seeing your Dr, be it a Dr who knows about mental health and specifically about depression, or bravely ask to be referred to a Psychiatrist to possible benefit from their areas of knowledge and expertise. I too i'm on Effexor but have recently changed to the XL version.

When I got my last prescription I was given viepax and today was given venlafaxine hydrochloride. I have had low mood since changing even though my GP says that venladaxine is the active ingredient in all of them. Can anyone help?

d need something more energizing to keep me going and get me off the couch, Wellbutrin XL works wonders in that regard. I haven't heard from the doc yet...maybe he thinks I'm crazy lol.

It may take 6 to 8 weeks or longer for you to feel the full benefit of this medication. Continue to take venlafaxine even if you feel well. Do not stop taking venlafaxine without talking to your doctor. Your doctor will probably decrease your dose gradually.

In fact, from what I have been reading, Tramadol works like venlafaxine (Effexor) does, even when it comes to the withdrawals, or easing off the medication. I was just wondering if there was anyone else out there who has had the same results with Tramadol or has been prescribed Tramadol for depression?

I am 41 yr male with mildly hypertensive taking Metoprolol XL 25mg in the morning and 25mg losartan in the evening. I underwent a treadmill test. during second stage my BP rost to 170/100 from 140/90 and My HR went to 117. I had recently had my son and had started to take Venlafaxine again after a break during pregnancy.
