1085545 tn?1284042254 I am also a vegetarian and found I had to make some drastic changes in my diet, but I am now able to eat a variety of foods and enjoy cooking again. What you need to reduce is your intake of carbs. If you are used to eating a large amount of rice (for me the problem was pasta) you will have to change that.

As a vegetarian you eat complex carbohydrates (whole grain, vegetables) so you do not have much to change in your diet. Avatar f tn Protein is an essential part of your diet and if you are skipping meat then you should try something like tofu or similar non vegetarian protein food to aid in your weight loss. Avatar n tn I became a vegetarian almost 4 years ago. Since then, my hair has slowly become greasy and limp. I have tried other shampoos but it didn't work. I am wondering if I am not getting enough protein and iron in my diet. I don't like tofu very much so I need to find other ways to get a lot of protein without having to eat a ton of it. How can I get iron in my diet? Has anyone else have this problem that is a vegetarian? Can signs of missing nutrients be shown in hair? Thank you!

Avatar f tn A problem my friend with Hep C and i have encountered is that consumption of animal protein caused an ammonia buildup. I would wake up to the constant smell of ammonia everywhere i went. Since i am mostly vegetarian, and only break this rule with fish a few times a month, i was careful to note that the ammonia smell only occurred after eating fish. My physician tested me and found that i definitely had an ammonia buildup and i should stop eating animal protein.

915369 tn?1355314810 Hey everyone! I was diagnosed with Crohn's about a year ago, and have since then been on a few medications and have settled on Imuran. Now, I have no complaints about my doctor, he's actually fairly good at what he does and he goes out of his way to help me and all his other patients but I find he doesn't have the time to really go in depth with my questions.
