Avatar f tn My doctor told me to use something with Vaseline in it while im on Accutane. I found Vaseline lip therapy...its in a small tube (white and blue) and I found it at Walmart for like 97cents. I have to apply it almost every 15 minutes at least, but its worth it....trust me, it helps!
Avatar n tn hi, i have a similar lip skin patch, have had it for about a week. did you ever find out what was going on with yours? did it resolve on its own?
Avatar n tn So frustrating because no amount or type of lip balm seemed to help (vaseline lip therapy, body shop lip salve, etc etc). Additionally, the skin above my upper lip became dry, red and irritated. About 2-3 weeks after that, I started experiencing swollen eyelids as well as dry, wrinkled, red, itchy patches above and below my eyes. I could not apply the most mild lotion to those areas because it would burn, but it was so dry I wanted to do something.
Avatar m tn Well on my upper lip not my lip but my upper lip i got raw flaky red skin i had it for about 7 months now, I tried everything too heal it and it seems like nothing works? Even topical gel,When i take a shower it gets dry real fast. All i can do is use moisturizer too help it. When my skin heals it cracks and falls off, It does the same routine every time for the past 7 months. And it does not ITCH or anything and its not eczema!
Avatar f tn It gets embarrassing sometimes, because people point out the red ring around my mouth. Quite often. Does anybody know a brand of lip therapy that actually WORKS, or have another suggestion? Thanks!
Avatar n tn I developed an allergy to burt bees and thought I was doomed to chapped lips for the rest of my life but I tried clinique full lips it's a splurge but it's a thick gloss that doesn't irritate me of course I might develop an allergy to it so I always have just Vaseline lip therapy %100 petroleum that maintains some moisture
Avatar f tn Well, actually what it does is form a barrier over your lips and dries them out more! You should use a product like regular vaseline lip therapy, or blistex ointment. Those do not contain any waxy stuff, and your lips will be able to *breathe*. (Or, if I'm Leif, its a conspiracy theory by the makers of Carmex and Chapstick. They make it waxy so you have to continue using their product, and you basically get addicted. Of course, only if you aren't having enough apple-cider vinegar!
Avatar n tn Yesterday (Monday) it was the same and I applied vaseline lip therapy which is in a tube. Monday nght i went to sleep and today I woke up (Tuesday) to real chapped and dry lips. Like it stung and it hurt to even move my lips. I washed my face and applied protreloum jelly. It sorta help with the stinging but it didn't. I went online and got freaked out by most of the things and I steralized my tooth brush and then exfoliated my lips.
Avatar f tn Why isnt hsv apart of regular std testing? I have never had symptoms of hsv but my bf had an obvious sore on the corner of his lip. He was unaware that the sore was hsv and always considered it a fever blister since he always got them when he was sick. In the time that I have been with him I have never saw a sore or had him tell me of any itching. 3. How likely am I to pass this orally or genitally to my partner? I have not had any sores on my mouth or feel anything funny going on there.
Avatar n tn And then I realized it was my hygiene causing the problem and I stopped. Never had this problem since, not once. No vaseline, no medicines. Literally, stop washing your eyelids in dry weather. Easy solution that makes sense and works.
Avatar n tn my face is an absolute mess after using dermalogica medibac kit for 2days, ive completely broken out, my skin feels like grit on my chin and upper lip, its completely red everywhere, ive been holding ice cubes to my skin to try and calm it, i dont know what to put on it? aloe vera gel? E45? nothing? what happened with yours?? hope your feeling better!
Avatar n tn ) You can get both at walgreen's . The eucerin is the 2 oz tube and runs about $5 (it is the super thick one) and the eye gel is $10 9 (a friend of mine recommended this as she was having the same problem). I have been using them daily or almost daily on the one eye where I was having the problems as well as the other eye as a precaution, and it seems to be keeping it at bay. for example...
Avatar n tn I have eczema in other places on my body and I have found that even just 1 day of using Aquaphor healing ointment (it comes in a tube or a jar and has the consistency of Vaseline) the condition resolves almost completely. So, tonight when I get home from work I am putting Aquaphor in my ears. I will let you know how that turns out. I found this stuff when my grandmother had radiation therapy for cancer and we would put it on her skin which was badly burned and blistered from the treatment.
Avatar n tn It may also seem old fashioned but I also suggest Vaseline. It can help ease the friction and keep the cuts from tearing further. You should consult with your doc and try to figure out ome compromising positions with your boyfriend that will accomidate both of you since he isn't going to get any smaller and you aren't going to get any bigger. However, over time, I do believe that a woman's body will learn how to adapt to her mate. Hopefully sooner than later.
Avatar n tn and it still happens!!! Arg!! So, the dermatologist gave me this eczema medicine that is the consistency of vaseline that literally burns the **** out of my skin and makes it itch a million times more!! So, now I am at an ultimate complete loss for words, my frustration level is high! Just out of curiosity, how many of you guys have some form of red hair and fare skin?? B/c I have Irish in me, and I have a red tent to my hair and am definitely fare.
Avatar n tn I use lanolin cream on my feet. If I don't use a lanolin lip balm every night and morning my lip splits and bleeds when I smile (or eat frenchbread...). Vegetable-based soaps with natural scents (lemon, coconut, rose). I can't wear make-up or creams, but aloe vera at night helps keep my face smooth. Oh yes, one last thing, my face is allergic to any sun block (no such thing as hypoallergenic for me). My skin turns to concrete and dies - after a few weeks I can scratch off the whole layer.
Avatar n tn Sorry to hear your suffering as well. You just struck something with the menopausal age and hormones though and I'm wondering if this could be part of my problem. When I was younger I was on every type of birth control possible and was unable to be on any of the pills, my hormones fluctuated so much and I suffered from severe migraines, and all made me physically ill with what I could only describe as morning sickness, without being pregnant.
Avatar n tn I am also really sensitive to so many different creams and detergents. I have been using vaseline... probably a no-no... and a couple other anti-itch creams. Which seem to help for a small amount of time. If anyone finds out anything else... be sure to post it. I wonder if we are the first to come across this considering our doctors are clueless...??
Avatar n tn she basically tried to tell me I didn't bath enough - whatever! She gave me a tube of pure Estrogen and to apply it 2-3 times daily, told me to get a hand held shower head and clean myself that way, wear cotton underwear (which I have been for 10+ years), wear a tampon if my discharge gets too heavy & no soap, perfumes, bubbles baths. Well, I did ALL of that except the hand held shower head & I still have tearing.
Avatar n tn Hi, Just a thought but it may help to try to eliminate yeast build up in your body, there are also some good detox therapies to try. If you don't find out exactly whats causing it maybe you can still manage it with the therapy. Be careful and research your detox remedies careful, especially if you have allergies. There are a lot of natural ways to rid the body of fungus, yeast and mold. A good site to research is www.****.com . Hope this helps........
530191 tn?1214166411 I was currently attening an online program for radiation therapy and was very loaded down with school work. So, I'm guessing I was pretty stressed at the time. Well, the next morning after that I noticed two or three red itchy dots on my arm. I thought they were mosquito bites. However, they kept popping up every where. One morning I woke up and my eyes and lips were swollen. One of my friends had had hives before and told me that they looked like that.
Avatar n tn I have had these for about 10 yrs maybe more but to last 2 three days then gone, i got strep bad a few months ago and with the fever can the most painn ful of break out that decided to live with me for 3 months, one doctor said Zooster herpes and that as stress and high fever can cause if u have a hystory of even lip herpes, OK, then i was told skin cold hot then blisters, not it, they hurt like crazy they went past itch but if i pop they r gone by morning but that pop is hell, i hurt everywher
Avatar n tn Then last night I tried to use soem more, but I could not even get the tube up there I was balling and then it all started bleeding. Today is Saturday, so I just drove the hour and a half to the nearest hospital and I find out that I "had a severe violent reaction to the Monostat!" For NORMAL people, this medicine is supposedly to work right away. Don't let the symptoms go on for days like I did.
Avatar n tn I came upon this site because I've got a bump that is killing me. It's on an outer lip (area I do shave often). I didn't notice anything and then one day I had a big, dime sized, lump under the skin. I noticed a few hairs caught so I pulled them out and made the mistake of squeezing the area. The next day it was almost double in size. Today is five days later. I went to the doc two days ago and got antibiotics (4X a day for 7 days) but two days in, not much progress.
