Avatar f tn her sister had severe varicose veins. I never did, but I took a lot ofvitamin E in my health nut days (also never had stretch marks). But I was wondering how much pain, written off as fibro, might be vascular? I would guess that people w/EDS might have varicose veins too. Sometimes I feel like that's where pain is, because it'snot in my joints. My veins are very close to the surface. Anyone?
Avatar m tn The leg vein issue the way you describe is that of varicose veins. Because you are experiencing pain in the calf muscle, you should make an urgent appointment to see your doctor to rule out deep vein thrombosis. The doctor will listen to the leg and can arrange to get your blood tested with regard to that - this is called a Doppler test. He will also be able to confirm whether it is varicose veins that you have and what can be done about them.
Avatar f tn Varicose veins are gnarled, enlarged veins. Any vein may become varicose, but the veins most commonly affected are those in your legs and feet. That's because standing and walking upright increases the pressure in the veins of your lower body. Sometimes varicose veins lead to more-serious problems. Varicose veins may also signal a higher risk of other circulatory problems. Treatment may involve self-care measures or procedures by your doctor to close or remove veins.
Avatar f tn t know how to explain it but on the back of my right calf I ended up get something looking like a small bunch of grapes due to the veins. And believe me now my veins r so much visible and feel really bumpy and a lot painful. I can't stand for a long periods of time and can't even do do my house chores. 1138687 tn?1548643978 Hi, I understand your concern regarding your symptoms. Varicose veins may indeed become swollen appear lumpy, bulging or twisted as well as painful. The vein valves weaken or are damaged causing blood to backflow. If your varicose veins are causing you pain or discomfort, it is best that you have this evaluated by your doctor for proper management. Endothermal ablation, sclerotherapy, and even phlebectomy may be indicated.
1762441 tn?1318971154 My son had the ELT and and although it was a painful recovery (7-10 days...and he won't take pain meds) he is very happy that he had it done. Hope this helps.
155701 tn?1230047101 When I lean against something (like the bathroom vanity), it feels like a big bruise. These are not spider veins or varicose. They look like normal veins except that they're very noticable and only on the upper region of my right thigh. I wouldn't be worried about them except for the fact that they feel like a bruise. Any ideas?
Avatar f tn This pregnancy i have developed some varicose veins. I have one that is protruding on my left inner calf and is right on top of bad spider vein. It is tender to the touch and i can feel a little discomfort walking up and down stairs. Is this normal or could it actually be a blood clot? It is not warm to the touch just painful and tender.
9062499 tn?1426957962 Ouch: getting annoyed with these varicose veins. They wont let me stand for more than 10 mins. Any mommies out there who knows how to deal with them? I would really appreciate it.

Avatar m tn If I let a limb dangle, blood pools inside and I feel like the limb is dead almost. My skin constantly feels the veins tugging. What would cause varicose veins to destroy my life like this? They just keep popping up everywhere... I have been to the doctor and taken 5+ blood tests of all sorts, had my heart tested, urine tested, had an abdominal ultrasound, and he found nothing. We've tried nerve medications (lyrica) and had no success.
Avatar f tn Seems like we share a few common things besides varicose veins. Only discovered I was preg at 14 weeks and am 27 weeks now and wld really want vbac but read somewhere saying they usually start inside so was also worried about obstruction of baby.
1907180 tn?1329450777 I am not sure if I have varicose veins or not. I am around 50 lbs overweight and 6 1/2 weeks pregnant. My legs are aching really bad from the knees to my ankles. I do have some small prominent blue bulging veins near the surface, but they have been there for years and never hurt. Can a person have them so deep that you can't see it? I fell last week and have some very deep and large contusions on the front of my right leg. My calves seem to be slightly swollen, but my ankles are normal.
Avatar n tn This year in May I stopped taking the birth control pills and a couple months later I noticed on my legs bulging varicose veins. The onset seemed to be quite sudden. Could the fact that I stopped taking the birth control pills caused the sudden onset of the varicose veins?
Avatar f tn Okay so the other night my leg started throbbing :( and it hurts to move my ankle and bend my leg. It hurts to stand or straighten.. Avatar n tn I'm 16 weeks pregnant, first pregnancy and have noticed varicose veins on the backs of my knees/legs, are they permenant?
Avatar f tn Varicose veins are common in the superficial veins of the legs, which are subject to high pressure when standing. Besides cosmetic problems, varicose veins are often painful, especially when standing or walking. They are often diagnosed based simply on the appearance of the veins.Confirmatory tests are Doppler ultrasound and angiogram. You can get it confirmed from a vascular surgeon and after getting these tests done. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar f tn Hello and welcome to the forum! We're glad you are here and appreciate your question. So, while it may not be a varicose vein, it can still be what they call a 'bulging vein'. " Bulging veins are prominent, enlarged veins that often appear blue or purple. They’re easy to see because they’re superficial veins close to the surface of your skin and typically occur on show up in your legs, feet, ankles and hands.
Avatar m tn I have no visible sores or lesions on my body. The only visible symptoms are the enlarged veins on the penis and prominent varicose veins around my right knee and some prominent varicose behind my left knee (I think I have never had varicose problems prior to this). Is this all stress-related or a possible STD? I have been to see my doctor in week 3 and I am currently waiting on tests for Hep A, Hep B, Syphillis and HIV.
10404685 tn?1418830427 Yep. Gotta love the extra weight of baby and pressure on the veins! I have varicose veins in my legs and my vagina. It's really unattravtive and is constantly swollen unless I'm lying down. And of course comes the pain and heaviness too. Ugh. I'm just glad I don't have them around my butt hole.
Avatar f tn It is very difficult to tell if your symptoms of headache are related to varicose veins without examination. Some association of varicose veins and migraine has been worked out. I would suggest you to try alternate therapy like acupressure, yoga and meditation and breathing exercises. Take care!
