varicose veins pregnancy stockings

Gonna try compression stockings for my varicose veins....does anybody have any other suggestions?

This is my third pregnancy and I am dealing with varicose veins for the first time. I am 16 weeks. They hurt and seem like they will only get worse with the pregnancy. I wear compression stockings at work and that seems to help. Not sure there is anything else I can do besides that and take it easy.Good luck!!

Ouch: getting annoyed with these varicose veins. They wont let me stand for more than 10 mins. Any mommies out there who knows how to deal with them? I would really appreciate it.

I also have the same problem this is my second pregnancy and there worse. And I have them every where to where the shocking wont help. I just elevate my feet hopefully that works for u as well.

I've dealt with varicose veins with all 3 of my pregnancies. It will get worse as your pregnancy progresses. I wear compression socks all day every day except when I'm sleeping. It helps with the heaviness and pain. They get significantly better after birth. Also if you exercise regularly and don't gain too much that helps keep them in control too.

This year in May I stopped taking the birth control pills and a couple months later I noticed on my legs bulging varicose veins. The onset seemed to be quite sudden. Could the fact that I stopped taking the birth control pills caused the sudden onset of the varicose veins?

Seems like we share a few common things besides varicose veins. Only discovered I was preg at 14 weeks and am 27 weeks now and wld really want vbac but read somewhere saying they usually start inside so was also worried about obstruction of baby.

I'm 24 weeks pregnant, and i have recently noticed varicose veins from my right leg, to my heel. is it normal to feel lots of blood rushing from my knee to my foot? And that being the only spot in either of my two legs. Sometimes my leg hurts so much I can't even walk on it, and other days its fine. I told my doctor and he keeps telling me its a Charlie horse in my leg, and I have had them and it doesn't feel like that , please give me a second opinion!

Yep. Gotta love the extra weight of baby and pressure on the veins! I have varicose veins in my legs and my vagina. It's really unattravtive and is constantly swollen unless I'm lying down. And of course comes the pain and heaviness too. Ugh. I'm just glad I don't have them around my butt hole.

Hey everyone, we are getting really close and hope everyone is doing well, as for me I had my 30 week check up and my dr said no working for me, my legs are so messed up with Varicose veins I have to start wearing a support belt and full stockings. That sound fun!!! Even when I am at home in bed!!!!She said everthing else was good and I am now going every 2 weeks. I do have to go do labs again to recheck some stuff but I just cant worry any more so I will wait before I freak out again LOL.

I a 30 years old I currently have terrible varicose veins in both upper legs running down to my feet. I am on hospital waiting list but it's three years and as i have no money to go private I have to just bear it. I wear compression stockings most days. The problem is I am a boxer in training and every time I train the veins get worse. Every night I extend my feet up to let the blood flow back down.

Hello~If you haven't already done so, I would make an appointment to see your GP, it may not be serious, but then again, it could be a circulation issue that needs to be taken care of.

I have just found out about this pump called the VENOWAVE when I was getting compression stockings for my varicose vains. When I was looking into it on their website I saw some stuff on DVT. Might want to take a look at it. Have you also tried the compression stockings?

Anyone had any veins pop out in their calves that are painful when walking?

Well I have pitting edema in my legs and a varicose in one, lots of spider veins..I have some major swelling and itching that's mostly at night...when I walk you can see the water move in my legs..the doc has given me water pills,and seems to do no good..I also get numb fingers,but I don't know if the two go hand in hand..I'm 28 years old...5'1 and 184 lbs I would love to walk and work out but my legs just don't have the strength..Please help..Thank You..

I am on my third pregnancy and have varicose veins and spider veins so badly that I was pulled off work at 6 months pregnant. They look horrible and are incredibly painful but they did fade after I had the baby. I only have them on my right leg from the weight and pressure of where the baby is sitting.I am currently on modified bed rest to control the pain as well. I would recommend a compression stocking and you can try accupuncture as well.

59 year old male with varicose veins in both legs. I am traveling in Asia and only have sleeves that cover from the ankle protrusions to just below the knee. I will only have regular socks and running shoes for my feet. I had pretty bad swelling of the foot and ankle for about ten days after the flights over here. Would it be a good idea to put those compression sleeves on before beginning the 25 hour travel marathon to return home to the usa?

By the way this is my 4th pregnancy. I have had the spider veins and varicose veins in my previous pregnancies but this has been the worst by far! About my 4th month I started getting a large varicose vein in my vagina. My doctor said it was normal and shouldn't be a problem while delivering. But the further along I go in this pregnancy the larger it has become. It hurts a lot. And it's very very noticeable. I joke with my husband that it looks like a mini penis.
