Avatar f tn Gonna try compression stockings for my varicose veins....does anybody have any other suggestions?
Avatar f tn I've dealt with varicose veins with all 3 of my pregnancies. It will get worse as your pregnancy progresses. I wear compression socks all day every day except when I'm sleeping. It helps with the heaviness and pain. They get significantly better after birth. Also if you exercise regularly and don't gain too much that helps keep them in control too.
9062499 tn?1426957962 Ouch: getting annoyed with these varicose veins. They wont let me stand for more than 10 mins. Any mommies out there who knows how to deal with them? I would really appreciate it.
Avatar f tn This is my third pregnancy and I am dealing with varicose veins for the first time. I am 16 weeks. They hurt and seem like they will only get worse with the pregnancy. I wear compression stockings at work and that seems to help. Not sure there is anything else I can do besides that and take it easy.Good luck!!
Avatar f tn I am 26 weeks along. I too have vericose veins. Mine are really bad. I have to wear compression stockings the majority of the time. My doc told me that I am definitely going to have to get them stripped after my pregnancy. Mine hurt to the touch and there are times I can not walk it hurts so bad.
Avatar f tn Sounds like you need compression stockings.
Avatar n tn I saw my physician regarding the varicose veins, for now his only recommendation was to wear the compression stockings. I have been thin all my life, I walk twice a day, I stopped wearing high heels when I was around 28, I have never been pregnant. I think that I inherited the varicose veins from my dad :-(, and I also think that the onset must have something to do with stopping the birth control pills. I also work at an office, so I sit most of the day.
Avatar n tn I have tried the compression stockings and they are giving me some relief for my varicose veins. My legs are swollen as well and there is a reduction in the pain as well. I am also able to do some physical activity where it was too uncomfortable before.
Avatar f tn Compression stockings ladies! Were them while working on your feet and the ugly veins can be prevented!
20812737 tn?1519267696 59 year old male with varicose veins in both legs. I am traveling in Asia and only have sleeves that cover from the ankle protrusions to just below the knee. I will only have regular socks and running shoes for my feet. I had pretty bad swelling of the foot and ankle for about ten days after the flights over here. Would it be a good idea to put those compression sleeves on before beginning the 25 hour travel marathon to return home to the usa?
Avatar f tn Your doctor may have you elevate your legs more, wear compression stockings or perform a procedure on the veins. But ultimately, prevention involves weight management, exercise, eating a high fiber and low sodium diet, etc. We have a great weight loss and dieting forum here https://www.medhelp.org/posts/Weight-Loss--Dieting/New-study--Calorie-Restriction-for-Better-Health/show/3047265 We hope you get active in that group!
Avatar f tn I a 30 years old I currently have terrible varicose veins in both upper legs running down to my feet. I am on hospital waiting list but it's three years and as i have no money to go private I have to just bear it. I wear compression stockings most days. The problem is I am a boxer in training and every time I train the veins get worse. Every night I extend my feet up to let the blood flow back down.
8973366 tn?1406016708 I am on my third pregnancy and have varicose veins and spider veins so badly that I was pulled off work at 6 months pregnant. They look horrible and are incredibly painful but they did fade after I had the baby. I only have them on my right leg from the weight and pressure of where the baby is sitting.I am currently on modified bed rest to control the pain as well. I would recommend a compression stocking and you can try accupuncture as well.
Avatar f tn If you walk around in your job try getting compression stockings.
Avatar f tn Hello~If you haven't already done so, I would make an appointment to see your GP, it may not be serious, but then again, it could be a circulation issue that needs to be taken care of.
Avatar m tn Hello, Varicose veins are enlarged and tortuous veins. Elevate the legs and wear compression stockings. Specific treatment options include stripping, sclerotherapy, endovenous thermal ablation and venous stripping. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
1138687 tn?1548643978 Hi, I am looking for support for my varicose veins! I have what would be considered a pretty severe case and I'm only 31 and male. I've had them since youth, but after all the chaos in my life in that past 5 yrs, I haven't been in touch with my body as much as usual!
Avatar m tn You can wear compression stockings to start with. Upward massage of legs also helps in milking the deep veins. There are various treatment options like sclerosing therapy and stripping. You can consult a vascular specialist. Hope this helps. Take care!
7968140 tn?1406932734 Luckily my hubby is a physical therapist and he brought home compression stockings for me to wear when ill be on my feet a lot. They seem to help a lot. I don't know where to buy them though.
Avatar f tn Also ask your doctor about compression stockings. They're tight knee high stockings that improve the blood flow in your legs. They are a god send and they also reduce the swelling to come and the varicose/spider veins that everyone hates! I'm a nurse on my feet all day and without them I wouldn't be able to work!
Avatar f tn Anyone else having trouble with them? They run in my family and I got them for the first time halfway through my first pregnancy and now in my second pregnancy they are "flared" up. I also started back at work do I'm on my feet a lot. I wear compression socks which help but is there anything else I can do to relieve the pain?
Avatar f tn I wanted to know if varicose veins will diminish after pregnancy especially in genitals?
Avatar f tn Compression stockings don't help i use them everyday they have caused a sore on the top of my foot.
Avatar f tn Seems like we share a few common things besides varicose veins. Only discovered I was preg at 14 weeks and am 27 weeks now and wld really want vbac but read somewhere saying they usually start inside so was also worried about obstruction of baby.
