Sometimes our veins lose their elasticity. They don't snap back the way they should. If you spend a lot of time on your feet, you can get varicose veins.
You might want to try some support stockings or socks. They are quite attractive nowadays - and some look like regular knee high socks. These stockings are made with lycra to tighten around the veins and keep them from swelling too much.

I have a varicose vein on my leg (on back of my quad), I'm only 21 years old and it is slowly spreading slightly onto my calf muscle now. It is also beginning to ache.Would I be priority in having it removed or will doctors just leave it as it is?

her sister had severe varicose veins. I never did, but I took a lot ofvitamin E in my health nut days (also never had stretch marks).
But I was wondering how much pain, written off as fibro, might be vascular? I would guess that people w/EDS might have varicose veins too.
Sometimes I feel like that's where pain is, because it'snot in my joints. My veins are very close to the surface.

I had an extremely serious case of varicose veins. On the inner sie of each ankle was a sack of blackish stagnant blood, a horror to look at. The skin was thinning and close to rupturing.
