Avatar m tn The thing that makes it worse in I have suffered with varicose veins in my legs which I have had treated but they seem to be coming back very quickly and I’m sure the dilation of my leg veins is accelerating this. If I am calm and feeling good I get no pain in my legs and feet but if I’m worked up I get pains in the arch of my foot and inside of my ankle below the bone, I also get a sensation in my feet of having things in my shoe mildly pressing in to my foot.
Avatar n tn If the bump is flesh colored and over a vein, it can be just a varicose vein (especially if you have varicose veins on other places on your body). Age is not a factor, from teens to older adults can get varicose veins on the penis or scrotum (and other places). These type of varicose veins can range in size with most the size of a BB or smaller (or bigger). Inspect it closely. If it seems to follow or be "on top" of a vein, this is probably what you have.

Avatar f tn I have the SAME problem! I don't know exactly what it is but my pediatrician said it may be varicose veins and to go to a pediatrist for more info. Sorry I couldn't help but this sounds identical to my foot problems only mine have started to hurt like when I stand for a while.
Avatar m tn For about 3 weeks my right ankle was swollen and I wake up today and the swelling is gone. There has been a slightly warm and light red spot on the side of my calf for a couple of days and it's a little painful to the touch. It kind of hurts to walk flat footed on that foot and it doesn't hurt when I bend it, but when I try to straighten it out it hurts. I do land surveying and work at a bbq restaurant, so I'm always on my feet at work, but I am on the computer a lot when I get home.
Avatar n tn Hi, You may be having a condition called as varicose veins. This is caused due to defects in the blood return system in the legs and therefore the blood floods the superficial veins of the leg which may cause this development. You may read more about it at: You may have to visit your doctor for more information and diagnosis. However, you must try and watch the skin at the ankles as ulcers may develop at the site. Avatar m tn Varicose veins usually result from failures in valves in veins connecting the superficial veins to the deep system in your legs. This is a mechanical problem. No medicine can restore this function. Horse chestnut extracts have been studied and appear to decrease the swelling due to venous insufficiency but the appearance is unchanged.

Avatar n tn If you already have varicose veins you may have some doubts about taking birth control pills. If your varicose veins are mild and are not a symptom of a more serious condition, your doctor may agree to prescribe a low-dose estrogen pill. In this case it's up to you to decide what your priorities are. You may feel that the advantages of taking the pill outweigh the risk of varicose veins. That said I doubt if taking the pill would stop the problem! Ask the doctor for his/her opinion.
Avatar m tn I have had large varicose veins pop up simultaneously in my right hand, left wrist, both feet (larger on the right foot). They are all painful. They just keep popping up everywhere...
1138687 tn?1548643978 Hi, I am wondering why there isn't a varicose veins forum!? Where else might I post my varicose veins concerns? I posted in the Deep Vein Thrombosis forum but noticed it is rarely used. I'm not certain but isn't DVT a result of varicose veins? And if varicose veins are more common, with DVT being a side affect, then Why not change that forum to Varicose Veins? Regardless shouldn't there be a forum for varicose veins?
Avatar f tn The most common causes of edema only in one foot are varicose veins and thrombophlebitis (inflammation of the veins) of the deep veins of the legs. These conditions can cause improper pumping of the blood by the veins and venous stasis. Hence when you walk the circulation is more and hence more pooling. This can be diagnosed by color dopplar or an angiogram. Do consult a vascular surgeon for this. Hope this helps. Do let me know if there is any thing else and keep me posted. Take care!

Avatar f tn Lately I’ve notice veins on my inner calf bulging out where I can feel them on my skin and they somewhat twist... as well as being able to feel my femoral vein running down my inner thigh to my knee cap, which I’m not sure if it’s normal to be able to feel that vein on the skin or not. But I’ve been having inner thigh pain and calf pain when I walk. Is this a serious issue or just common with varicose veins? I’m thinking about seeing my PC doc.
