Avatar f tn They’re easy to see because they’re superficial veins close to the surface of your skin and typically occur on show up in your legs, feet, ankles and hands. While bulging veins are usually harmless, they can be a sign of a more serious problem like a blood clot." https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/22877-bulging-veins It may actually still be varicose veins which is common in 1 in 3 adults. For most people, a bulging vein is truly harmless. Unsightly, perhaps.
Avatar m tn Is the weather warming up too? Your veins get way more noticeable in warm weather and if you've lost some weight with all that stress, you will notice them even more. You could be getting some ankle/feet swelling from your varicose veins due to the warm weather. Anxiety will take any normal physical sensation and pick away at it, until that is all you can feel. Everyone can feel their veins in hot weather if they concentrate, I reckon. Good luck.
1032669 tn?1252456404 Yeah, I'm one of the lucky ones with varicose veins too :-( I have a few on my legs that look and feel like raised bruises, and my labia is swollen too. My obgyn said it's not uncommon and that, unfortunately, it will just continue to get worse until delivery...as the weight of your uterus (and baby) increases and puts more pressure on the veins. Oh well, it's all worth it for a healthy baby!
1138687 tn?1548643978 Hi, I am wondering why there isn't a varicose veins forum!? Where else might I post my varicose veins concerns? I posted in the Deep Vein Thrombosis forum but noticed it is rarely used. I'm not certain but isn't DVT a result of varicose veins? And if varicose veins are more common, with DVT being a side affect, then Why not change that forum to Varicose Veins? Regardless shouldn't there be a forum for varicose veins?
Avatar m tn Varicose veins are veins that have become enlarged and tortuous. The term commonly refers to the veins on the leg, although varicose veins can occur elsewhere.
Avatar n tn You may feel that the advantages of taking the pill outweigh the risk of varicose veins. That said I doubt if taking the pill would stop the problem! Ask the doctor for his/her opinion.
Avatar m tn Your doctor may have diagnosed you correct but as so many have said ONLY a hepatologist can assess the degree of liver damage and tell you what options are available to you. As Bill said seek care at liver transplant center near you. These are the only doctors that are qualified to manage patients with cirrhosis. They do it every day. Cirrhosis is divided into three separate classes. Child-Pugh Classes A -C.
Avatar n tn Note that when you have laser treatment it destroys the veins so the blood will go to other veins and the problem will most likely return.
1580703 tn?1651904887 Varicose veins occur when the valves do not function properly, allowing blood to remain in the vein. This usually occurs in the veins of the legs but it may occur elsewhere. Indeed, treatment may be invasive (surgical) or noninvasive which include sclerotherapy, laser ablation, radiofrequency ablation and a lot more. However, it is best that you confirm the diagnosis with your physician and discuss the best option for you.
757137 tn?1347196453 Do you know the strength of the liquid you used? It is frustrating to find a natural way of dealing with varicose veins and then not be able to find the correct form of the product.
Avatar m tn I had an extremely serious case of varicose veins. On the inner sie of each ankle was a sack of blackish stagnant blood, a horror to look at. The skin was thinning and close to rupturing. At some point I adding liquid trace minerals to my drinking water, with no purpose in mind other than adding to my general health. I put one tablespoon in each gallon of filtered water. I also added 16 drops of BioSil.
Avatar n tn Hello and hope you are doing well. Varicose veins are caused by hormone changes, exposure to the sun, and injuries. Avatar f tn This pregnancy i have developed some varicose veins. I have one that is protruding on my left inner calf and is right on top of bad spider vein. It is tender to the touch and i can feel a little discomfort walking up and down stairs. Is this normal or could it actually be a blood clot? It is not warm to the touch just painful and tender.
927365 tn?1245748499 Treatment of leg veins can be performed by injection of sclerosing agents into the veins and external lasers that work specifically for leg veins. In addition, treatment of underlying venous insufficiency of the deep venous system may be appropriate. The use if internal lasers can now be used in place of traditional vein stripping. You need to consult with a vascular surgeon or plastic surgeon in your area with expertise in this area.
Avatar f tn ve been to two different neurologists, two pain clinics and seen my primary doctor about 15 times. On my last visit with the pain specialist, he asked why no one had pursued the issue of my varicose veins. He said that there are collegen defects that effect the veins and I could have these type of veins in my head causing the headaches. Do you think this could be the case? I've tried so many different treatments for these headaches.
Avatar f tn Just a few years ago I had my veins pulled out and the Dr said that I was 1 of the 3 worst cases he had ever seen and the other 2 were elderly. My skin hurts all the time...even getting a pedicure when they rub your legs hurts.
Avatar f tn Well, I would look up Deep Vein Thrombosis, too, and see if any of the symptoms relate to what is happening to you. If it is a varicose vein it is no big deal, but if it is DVT you should go in and get checked, and don't wait until Monday if the symptoms match its description. Good luck; I hope it is just a v.v.
Avatar f tn Hello, sorry about he delay in answering your question. Inner thigh pain and groin pain are common with varicose veins. Also, calf pain is included in that. Please see your doctor if you have not already. Let us know if you have seen them and what they have said. Here is an older question about this answered by a MedHelp doctor https://www.medhelp.org/posts/Blood-Disorders/Varicose-veins---inner-thigh-pain-/show/2027668 Here is some basic information on the condition as a whole.
Avatar f tn The doctor said that it's normal during pregnancy. It isn't varicose veins, it's just more blood flowing down there.

The vein valves weaken or are damaged causing blood to backflow. If your varicose veins are causing you pain or discomfort, it is best that you have this evaluated by your doctor for proper management. Endothermal ablation, sclerotherapy, and even phlebectomy may be indicated.
