Avatar n tn Hello, Varicose veins in testicles needs to be treated with varicocele surgery or varicocele embolization in which a tube is inserted into the groin and then guided under x-ray or ultrasound to the varicose veins. You should get it examined from a urologist and discuss these two treatment options. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar f tn Hello, sorry about he delay in answering your question. Inner thigh pain and groin pain are common with varicose veins. Also, calf pain is included in that. Please see your doctor if you have not already. Let us know if you have seen them and what they have said. Here is an older question about this answered by a MedHelp doctor https://www.medhelp.org/posts/Blood-Disorders/Varicose-veins---inner-thigh-pain-/show/2027668 Here is some basic information on the condition as a whole.
Avatar m tn first began to experience electric pain through groin area and noticed prominent varicose veins in right groin. also noticed numbness and tingling sensations throughout my body (pins and needles). the best I can describe it is short electric shock like pains. some muscle weakness, headaches as well as overall fatigue. Week 4: the week 3 symptoms have worsened and now I feel similar pains in my left leg. In addition, there is muscle quivering in my groins and my biceps.
1138687 tn?1548643978 Hi, I understand your concern regarding your symptoms. Varicose veins may indeed become swollen appear lumpy, bulging or twisted as well as painful. The vein valves weaken or are damaged causing blood to backflow. If your varicose veins are causing you pain or discomfort, it is best that you have this evaluated by your doctor for proper management. Endothermal ablation, sclerotherapy, and even phlebectomy may be indicated.
5915949 tn?1396188227 When I sit down to use the bathroom I have a huge varicose vein that hurts badly like its gonna bust open and I'm only 20wks.
Avatar m tn But as your specialist has suspected, it could also be a varicocele. Varicose veins of the testis are referred to as a varicocele. It is the dilatation of the pampiniform venous plexus and the internal spermatic vein. It is known to cause poor sperm production and hence infertility. Based on the size it is classified as small, moderate and large. It is diagnosed with a clinical examination and confirmed by a Doppler ultrasonography.
Avatar f tn I've also been experiencing pain down below and my left side is actually swollen. It also hurts more the longer I'm on my feet especially at work standing for long periods of time. Went to my doctor and found out its varicose veins and will go away after I deliver. I'm 35 weeks now and it's been going on since about 25 weeks.
155701 tn?1230047101 When I lean against something (like the bathroom vanity), it feels like a big bruise. These are not spider veins or varicose. They look like normal veins except that they're very noticable and only on the upper region of my right thigh. I wouldn't be worried about them except for the fact that they feel like a bruise. Any ideas?
Avatar f tn org/health/diseases/22877-bulging-veins It may actually still be varicose veins which is common in 1 in 3 adults. For most people, a bulging vein is truly harmless. Unsightly, perhaps. But won't hurt you. But for a rare few, blood clots would be the concern. The article gives situations in which these are more common. Being overweight, smoking, recent pregnancy or hormonal changes, intense exercise, dieting or simply getting older are all listed as triggering to this occurring.
229857 tn?1319029907 What about varicose veins? Varicose veins are not dangerous, and they are NOT thrombophlebitis. Varicose veins are a problem with gravity and the weight of the baby on the drainage of superficial veins back up toward the heart. Varicose veins are mere engorgements of these structures and have nothing to do with clots in the deep veins of the legs. Although they can hurt, they don't present as the danger that deep blood clots are.
Avatar m tn Varicose veins usually result from failures in valves in veins connecting the superficial veins to the deep system in your legs. This is a mechanical problem. No medicine can restore this function. Horse chestnut extracts have been studied and appear to decrease the swelling due to venous insufficiency but the appearance is unchanged.
1032669 tn?1252456404 Yeah, I'm one of the lucky ones with varicose veins too :-( I have a few on my legs that look and feel like raised bruises, and my labia is swollen too. My obgyn said it's not uncommon and that, unfortunately, it will just continue to get worse until delivery...as the weight of your uterus (and baby) increases and puts more pressure on the veins. Oh well, it's all worth it for a healthy baby!
Avatar m tn If they start enlarging (less likely) get an evaluation for varicose veins penis. The varicose vein on the penis does not require any treatment. It may bruise during sexual intercourse and thus wearing of a condom is highly recommended. Also use of lubricants is recommended during masturbation or during sexual intercourse to avoid bruising the vein. No other treatment is required. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
1138687 tn?1548643978 Hi, I am wondering why there isn't a varicose veins forum!? Where else might I post my varicose veins concerns? I posted in the Deep Vein Thrombosis forum but noticed it is rarely used. I'm not certain but isn't DVT a result of varicose veins? And if varicose veins are more common, with DVT being a side affect, then Why not change that forum to Varicose Veins? Regardless shouldn't there be a forum for varicose veins?
Avatar n tn This year in May I stopped taking the birth control pills and a couple months later I noticed on my legs bulging varicose veins. The onset seemed to be quite sudden. Could the fact that I stopped taking the birth control pills caused the sudden onset of the varicose veins?
Avatar f tn In response to your question, the varicose veins are blown out veins carrying blood backwards and adding to the burden of the normal veins. Getting them out of the system lightens the load on the normal ones. The only exception is when the deep venous system is occluded and the varicosity is the only way blood can return to the heart. This should be obvious with an appropriate duplex doppler study.
Avatar f tn Im due June 27th with a baby boy and I am always in pain I have gotten really bad varicose veins from my groin right into the back if my shins is anyone else's having anything simular I didn't have anything like this in my last pregnancy.
Avatar n tn Note that when you have laser treatment it destroys the veins so the blood will go to other veins and the problem will most likely return.
Avatar f tn About a week ago, (not certain when it started showing up though) I discovered a lump on my inner thigh near my groin. It feels solid/firm and is discolored. It doesn't hurt or cause any sort of soreness. One source said it might be varicose veins, but I'm not sure. Any advice is helpful.
1580703 tn?1651904887 Varicose veins occur when the valves do not function properly, allowing blood to remain in the vein. This usually occurs in the veins of the legs but it may occur elsewhere. Indeed, treatment may be invasive (surgical) or noninvasive which include sclerotherapy, laser ablation, radiofrequency ablation and a lot more. However, it is best that you confirm the diagnosis with your physician and discuss the best option for you.
2020005 tn?1628125976 Hey there, i just want to say dnp47 that was a wonderful post! thank you! I agree, I would show it to the doctor. At least just so they are updated on whats going on with your body. I also have heard, if it doesn't go away after the baby, that apple cider vinegar (with the mother in it) can be applied to the area to help varicose veins. I haven't had any to see if it works yet on myself but if you are curious to try its an idea to look up and try.
Avatar f tn Varicose veins are painful, I would mention it to your doc as they will be able to tell the difference between them and blood clots, I'm nlt sure that blood clots are usually visible, but you are def better to get them checked out. There are treatments for varicose veins in injection form which really hell, but I'm not sure if that could be done while you are pregmant. Your doc will be able to advise best.
