Avatar m tn Hello, Vaginal dryness can be due to low estrogen levels, stopping birth control medications, having a baby, or as a side effect of certain medications. Also, high levels of stress can cause vaginal dryness. Cigarette smoking can also cause vaginal dryness. Rarely medical conditions like sjogrens syndrome can cause these symptoms. Control the stress levels and if the symptoms persist then get Sjogren’s syndrome ruled out.
Avatar f tn I have a very itchy red swollen vaginal are. Of and on I may see a little yellow discharge that doesn't smell too good. I have similar symptoms of vaginal dryness and a yeast infection. Which could IT be? I am using vitamin e capsules, and it is helping. It was recommended to use that for vaginal dryness. I'm really annoyed with this!!! My sex Life is ruined please help!!!!
Avatar f tn I have noticed a bad odor lately.. Could this be caused by vaginal dryness? I am 57 & obviously post menopausal. What could be the cause and how can I treat it?
Avatar f tn Do you have any discharge? What other symptoms do you have? Do you have pain? It could be just vaginal dryness and you could use a moisturizer such as Replens. It could be a yeast infection and I would recommend seeing a doctor first before you try to treat it. It is more important to find out what the cause is in order to treat it properly or else it will linger and won’t heal properly. But if you are not willing, then I would use the canesten vaginal cream.
Avatar f tn I'm have concerns I've been having a discharge that has a very slight light green tint to it. There's no burning no discomfort in peeing. And I seem to be experiencing vaginal dryness. Or I had thought that was what the problem was instead of a yeast infection. So when I was applying lubricant to ease the irritation I found I guess is a cyst. It's not painful but it is causing some irritation.
Avatar f tn This might get quite long! I'm a 23 year old female and I've been sexually active for about 5 years. For the duration of that time I've been on the pill, and I've also always found sex quite painful/usually impossible due to a painful area of skin on the vaginal entrance which I can physically point to, and also due to dryness.
Avatar f tn Dear zina123, Well, the information you gave is scanty so it is tough to give you a reasonable answer. Do you have any vaginal discharge? Does the pain seem to go deeper into you perineal area on one side or the other? Do you have any low-back pain with it? How long has it existed? Does it hurt more when you manipulate the labia? Does anything make it hurt more or make it better, that you know of ?
Avatar f tn Hi, I've had irritation in my vaginal lips for a period 3 days. The skin is also pealing white. I'm also experiencing a burning and itching sensation. It also burns when I pee and I believe I tore a little skin, so there's a little bleeding. However, my discharge seems normal. I had been put on antibiotics as I've had bronchitis for the last couple of weeks. The drugs are clarithromycin and this is my first time taking this kind of antibiotics.
464013 tn?1206731717 But, I remember thinking I had yeast infections for 2 years. Turned out it was just dryness. No infection. Do you have the funky vaginal discharge? Or is it just raw. The discharge is what tells you it is definitely an infection. Without that, it is just a rawness from being so dry. Anyway, eat a yogurt at least once a day. That helps to balance things and actually helps yeast infections. And, see a rheumatologist!!! You may need an immunosuppressant!
Avatar f tn Past ovarian cysts averaging over 2 inches. I am now experiencing vaginal dryness, burning, thick yellowish discharge (which they told me to expect), pain in my left side (almost like period cramps but only one side). My 6 week checkup (due to holidays) with my obgyn is late July and where I live it will take 6 months to get into someone else. Is this normal? What can I do to help the burning\dryness? Suggestions?
Avatar f tn I’m 15 experiencing vaginal dryness in the labia and around the clit which makes it hard to have sex as I’m usually sexually active and foreplay doesn’t help, too much foreplay makes me swell up and go extremely dry.
Avatar n tn I am 39 years old. In the last two years I have experienced vaginal dryness to the point that my sexual desire is almost null and void. My doctor's state that I am not perimenopause becasue I still have a menustral cycle. However, during sexual intercourse, the outside of my vagina does not swell although my mind states that I am aroused. Penetration is painful and my vaginal skin seems so fragile that I think it will rip from the dryness.
Avatar f tn Yes, if you have vaginal dryness, these over the counter remedies can be used daily just to keep vaginal tissues moist. It doesn't have to be for intercourse only.

Avatar m tn I am 29 y/o, white, good vaginal and menstrual health (so far), & childless. For the past few months, about 2 weeks before my period I have a very raw and dry feeling labia and inner lips area. When I wipe, it feels like I'm wiping with sandpaper. I'm not dry inside. I do have normal, clear lubrication discharge. No smells, no "cheese". When I pee, it feels like fire. I have checked and it's NOT an UTI or yeast infection. I have a healthy diet and am not over weight.
Avatar n tn I have had vaginal dryness recently, and I think it is resulting in cuts in the lower area of my vagina as well. I have found that using a lot of lube helps, just make sure it's water-based. KY has a warming kind that isn't like jelly, but not too watery and messy either. & make sure your man takes it slow at first. Hope everything works out for you.
Avatar f tn An ultrasound via vaginal route or a uteroscope inserted via vaginal route to look at the condition of the cervix, uterus etc, a PAP smear, a vaginal swab test, a culture of the vaginal discharge, a complete STD panel are probably what are required. It could also be an allergic reaction to soaps, cosmetics, douches, razor etc that you use. Hence eliminate them one by one and see if it helps.
