I am 54 yrs. of age and have been period free for 8 yrs. Within the last year and a half I have been seeking treatment for horrible burning inside and out of the vaginal area. My doctor has done many tests and has said that I have vaginal atrophy (sp) and told me to use replens. She also recommended Prempro as I still have a uterus. I no longer have health insurance and can't afford the prempro and the replens DOESN"T work.

Has anyone else suffered the dreaded Vaginal Atrophy. Have been prescribed Vagifem which is helping a little. Main problem for me is burning after urination. Don't like using the prescribed betnovate cream too often as this burns. Now trying the yes products. Some days I seem much better and then the next day it returns with avengeance. Sitting at School working with children is not ideal and aggravates it even more.

m 34 and after a recent visit to a gyno she prescribed me vagifem suppositories and betnovate cream. I am not menopausol or anything. I've just had gyno issues in past few months of a burning sensation inside my vagina and sometimes outside too. It is very uncomfortable at times. She prescribed me vagifem and betnovate to use for 3 months consistently before I go back to her. I'm worried after reading on internet about cancer being linked to it and so on.

I am 58 and three years post menopause. I have been using Vagifem for over a year and love it. No side effects for me or my husband. I have read a lot about it and it seems to be widely thought of as an effective remedy for vaginal dryness in a way that does not let the estrogen be absorbed by the body. I will continue to use it.

Hello Doctor, I have a question based on a helpful response you gave me earlier. When Vagifem or Estrace is prescribed for a post menopausal woman with a uterus, should a progestin always be prescribed as well? I've been taking Vagifem for 2 years without a progestin, and now I have to undergo an endometrial biopsy because of some buildup of the lining of my uterus (I have no bleeding....it showed up on an TV ultrasound...small changes and endometrial thickness of 5mm).

I have recently been started on Vagifem and in the last 3 days have had copiou amounts of greenish watery vaginal discharge. Should I be concerned it is very annoying.

I have been prescribed 2x daily Vagifem tablets as part of a fertility treatment with Clomid. I have been told that should I fall pregnant I would have to continue this treatment for 6 further weeks (~8 weeks treatment with Vagifem in total).

I used vagifem for two years and stopped for about one month. I want to start up again.

I am on Herceptin until the end of the year. I am a forty year-old woman and I have experienced a cessation in my menstrual cycle. Intercourse is very painful, even though I am using Replens. I am still very susceptible to urinary track infections too. My doctor suggested Lubrin, but I have been unable to find Replens or Lubrin in stores around my area. I have no children, but I always thought I might have them. What are my chances that my menstrual cycle might come back?

I was without estrogen for some time in this year, and then I used local estrogen (Vagifem) and Vaginal balans. My vagina and vaginal atrium and urethra are in poor condition. I have also had osteopenia previously. And I have hypercalcemia, I should not use calcium pills. Could it be possible that I have cystitis or vaginitis? I hardly have any discharge from vagina. I had my first bacterial vaginitis in January this year. I had abnormal bleeding before it.

She said I could stop the Vagifem for 3 months and have another ultrasound, however, she recommends that I have the biopsy now. Can you please explain what "Adenomyosis versus hyperplastic changes" means? And would you suggest a biopsy based on these results? My doctor told me that I don't have to stop taking the Vagifem, however, I don't feel comfortable taking it now. Do you feel I should discontinue? Thank you for your assistance.

I have used it for only a week and have had bad headaches, plus terrible pains in my womb. Also pins and needles down my left arm, and even my teeth are feeling very sensitive. I can't believe this is doing me any good. All replies will be welcome.

Yes I've had yellow green discharge for 4 months - no bacteria showing up on tests - now seeing a specialist who has put me on vagifem same dose as you. I'm not convinced this will work and am desperate to get rid of the discharge - any suggestions?

This morning my husband and I had intercourse without lubrication and immediately afterwards I felt the symptoms of a UTI, with a good deal of blood in my urine. It's extremely painful. I don't believe this is a bacterial infection because of the sudden symptoms.

What I want to know is how long before the surgery should we use the estrogen (I have both vagifem and estrace cream)? I had a hysterectomy, total and done vaginally, in Oct 2009, then bladder fell 2 months after, had the cystocele repaired and then around 6 weeks later the rectum and top of vaginal vault fell. I have had a pessary in for around a year to hold it but it is getting so hard to have a BM. I want this rectocele repair to be the last surgery!

Currently my symptoms are on Dec 26th I woke up with extreme nausea, and swollen abdomen and pain and fatty stools all day. My doc tested for bacteria etc and found nothing.I began to have erratic sleep patterns, awake all night and sudden intense fatigue during the day, relieved by a short nap. My anxiety is so intense I can't sleep more than 3 to 4 hours at a time and I can't function this way.

1st 10 days using Vagifem no side effects just discharge. Started 3rd week and have cramps and then diarrhea (sometimes). Does it get better?

I personally prefer Vagifem because it is less messy and each comes in its own applicator. You will still need to use something like Astroglide duirng intercourse to have even better results. But, things should go back to normal if your tissues get the right amount of estrogen. Also, as time goes on in this new relationship, you may be more relaxed and have more natural lubrication to help you along. I hope you find something that helps! It is frustrating to have that problem!

Make sure and use a good lubricant such as KY or I use Replens long lasting because it helps for several days and is a very good moisturizer. I would recommend it highly.

I'm very sorry to hear of your situation. It is a challenge. Here are some tips you can try. For vulva dryness and vaginal dryness, try Replens. It is an over the counter, non-hormonal product that one inserts into the vagina daily for two weeks and then twice per week after that. It has been shown in studies to reduce dryness. It isn't a lubricant, it is a moisturizer. About 20% of women notice a slight whitish discharge.

m taking HRT that only helps so much, so I also use Replens, (it has been a life saver for me), and when I am intimate I also use an additional lubricant, and believe me, this has cut down on any bleeding. I highly recommend Replens. You insert it vaginally, there are no hormones. It isn't as bad as it sounds and is painless and takes a few seconds. I use it every other day even if I am not going to be intimate. But, it is good to call your Gyn who may be able to suggest other things.

Hello again, I forgot to ask this in my prior post regarding Vagifem. I exercise a few days a week with weights...is it okay to continue lifting weights now that I know I have a cyst on my ovary or could I be risking having it rupture? Is cardio okay to do? Thank you all.
