Uti infection symptoms in women

Common Questions and Answers about Uti infection symptoms in women

Avatar f tn Hey everyone, about three months ago I got my paragard IUD out after having it in for six years. That very night I went home and felt symptoms of an oncoming UTI, a really slight burning (not when I pee, just a burning "down there") and the frequent urge to urinate. Well, it never turned into an actual UTI; it was just those faint symptoms, which confused me. I thought maybe they were a weird side effect of Paragard removal and ignored them for a few weeks.
Avatar n tn Did they give you antibiotics for the UTI? Make sure and let your dr. know. Are you running a fever?
Avatar f tn Had a call from my midwife today to let me know the results of my urine test and they show I have a urinary tract infection (UTI). I've had no symptoms but she said I need some antibiotics. Has this happened to anyone else, should I be worried?
Avatar f tn Diagnosed with uti 9/17 treated with nitrofurantoin. After one week symptoms persisted so was given ciprofloxacin. After one week symptoms persisted again so another culture was done and diagnosed with staph infection. Treated with amoxicillin but after one week symptoms still persist. Another culture done and came back contaminated was treated with metronidazole. Now done with prescription and systems still persist. Going to call doctor to see if another analysis/culture.
Avatar f tn I had a UTI first trimester with no symptoms. Caught it on urine test that went with my bloodwork. Dr said many pregnant women get UTI and have no idea.
Avatar f tn then later itchiness and i knew a yeast infection was setting in because we had a lot of dry sex and i always get yeast infections after dry sex. so anyway i chug water for my uti and buy monistat 1 for the yeast infection. had a horrible reaction. swelling, pain, itchiness, redness and my left labia was much more swollen than my right! now that the swelling went down i decided to check it out down there, thats when i noticed a firm bump that itches and is sore.
Avatar m tn her symptoms sound like an uti which are very common in sexually active females. giving her provider the benefit of the doubt, we can assume that at the very least, a simple urine dip was done that showed infection and if nothing grew in her urine culture, they usually don't call the patient back. if you doubt your partner's fidelity, why not sit down and talk to her?
518733 tn?1333017015 I have heard of many women getting antibiotics for a bladder infection and some women were even able to take some for a really bad sinus infection. Try not to stress too much - your doc knows your pregnant right??
Avatar f tn I haven't been nauseous, except maybe once. Well today, I ate a little biscuit. I wasn't nauseous at all. About 20mins I went into the bathroom to wash my hands. immediately when I smelled the soap, I wanted to vomit. I tried to run out out the bathroom quickly to get away from the smell, thinking maybe it was in my mind. Once I ran out I had to run back in to vomit. I've been using this hand soap, for so long and this was the first time this has happened.
Avatar f tn Hi, Its is common for patients who have Interstitial Cystitis to have a few real urinary tract infections in the past, then start to have symptoms with no infection in the urine. White blood cells in the urine don't necessarily mean infection and needs a workup if the cultures are negative. A urine culture is key rule in or rule out the infection. If there is no infection by the culture but you still have symptoms you may have IC.
Avatar f tn burning while urinating would be constant not just at night and there would be a white puss discharge if there was a real infection. The ab pain is not a symptoms of any std in men but in women its called PID. Not often where there is irritation at the penis tip its from anxiety and constant touching the area looking for things.
Avatar f tn s just one of those things that people (and women especially) get a few times in their lifetime.
Avatar f tn Will they be able to tell if its a kidney infection instead of a uti by a urinalysis and cultures or should I calm them back in the morning? The nurse said it'll take up to 48 he's for the results.
Avatar f tn I think I've seen women on here saying they've taken Monistat for a yeast infection.
5913031 tn?1382391190 No take your antibiotic, they will give you one that is safe to take. I had it in my first pregnancy along with UTI and staph from surgery while pregnant. My second pregnancy i had multiple yeast and UTI. So far nothing yet but the only time i have ever developed and infection was while pregnant lol. It's pretty common.
Avatar m tn Hello, From the symptoms, urethral syndrome or urethritis has to be ruled out.It is a primarily female syndrome in which women suffer from irritative bladder symptoms (urinary frequency, urgency, burning and a hesitant or slowed urinary stream) in the absence of any objective urologic findings. In this the diagnosis can be made only by the proper collections of urine specimens from both the urethra and the bladder.

Avatar n tn I frequently experience symptoms of UTI, I would say probably at least once a month (I have experienced over 6 flare-ups of these symptoms in the past four months.) This usually occurs after sexual intercourse, within one or two days. I drink plenty of water and ALWAYS urinate immediately after sex, and typically I shower immediately after as well, just to be safe. However, these symptoms (burning, urgency, irritation, and general discomfort) keep returning.

Avatar f tn Just seeing if anyone has or had a bladder infection in the early weeks of pregnancy. I'm almost 6 weeks and I'm constantly peeing (which I know comes with pregnancy already) but it's constant. I initially had my first prenatal visit made for November 6th. But they want to see me tomorrow instead. What do they do if I do have a bladder infection. I didn't think I could take meds?
Avatar f tn Some women have Sterile pyuria which is persistent white blood cells in urine without any bacterial infection at all. That's not super common and usually having white blood cells means UTI or kidney issue. They will likely check you for these again. How can you test for these on your own at home? Do you see your doctor today? Let me know what they say!
Avatar f tn My last urine culture was negative and the urologist suggested maybe a bowel infection was making these symptoms but I have NO bowel symptoms. And if the symptoms go at the start of the antibiotic course and then come back doesnt that imply an infection otherwise antibiotics wouldnt relieve it? However my lekocyte level is only4-6hpf and epithelial cells 15-20hpf.
Avatar f tn I recently found a small patch of something in the crease of my clinical hood and on the side of the clitoras. Its swelled on that side and seems redder than usual. I thought maybe I had somehow cut myself shaving but then the spot didn't seem to look like healing the next morning. I have symptoms which I blame on a new soap used this week possibly causing a UTI, but I'm also half wondering if this is related to a yeast infection. I plan to treat for that with OTC products overnight.
